  • Marty is playing a B Bender telecaster. It was invented by the great Byrds' guitarist Clarence White and his buddy Gene Parsons. Pushing down the neck allows the strap to pull a spring that bends the string one tone. When played brilliantly it gives the tele a real twangy country sound.

  • Hell yeah!

  • mmmmm...fantastic.!!!

  • Can't get enough of Marty, no matter what he plays, who he plays it with, it's great. Still my favorite version of Rawhide is his when he was just 13yrs old.

  • This guy, and his band are among the elite preeminent entertainers around today. These guys can PICK guitar . . Not that schlocky pre-packaged crap so common in the entertainment industry today that they pawn off on the public.

  • @canyondogh Marty is the man

  • They jam and the guitar section kicks ass brother ~ The Marty Stuart Show is on RFD-TV on Sat nights ~

  • This is awesome, real country music not the crap-tasic shit Nashville has been cranking out for the past 20 years.

I give three thumbs up to the song, the clothes, the attitude, the twang and Martys hairdo!

  • @jodygrind69 I think thier outfits are called "Nudies" . At least that is what they used to call those kind of western suits.

  • i had the opportunity to hold that tele several years ago. it was sitting on the couch in front of the tour bus and i asked the guy if i could hold it....and he let me! it was really something to be able to check out a guitar with so much history behind it!

  • Whats up with Marty's Tele? It has a double body? I always knew about this Tele but never knew the propose for the double body.. anyone know and how he ended up with it?

  • Comment removed

  • It's Clarance White's old B-bender. One of the first ones and all the mechanics are built in between the bodies.

  • Different thickness of the boddy, type of wook, etc,, give different rosonant sounds.

Like, Semi-Hollow, Hollow, Solid, Double,,, It could just be a comfort thing too.

  • Ok Your right about that....But the reason for the second body wasn't for tone but to house the massive homemade b-bender . And there isn't much of a "Second body" there due to it being hollowed out to make room for the B-bender. This guitar actually has 2 benders. One on the strap and one on the face of the guitar via a knob when pushed down. There is also Banjo (Scruggs Keith) tuners on both E strings. Also has a "54" Strat pickup in the neck position. The neck has a date of 10/56.

  • You all need to check out The Marty Stuart Show on RFD TV,channel 345 on directv .Comes on Friday and Saturday....way country but cool

  • Absolutely Incredible Guitar Playing. Your friends at 35GuitarPickupTones{dot}com

  • The song is awesome and the guitar playing by Stuart and Vaughan is just outrageous. Well, the rhythm section is fabulous too!

What more could you ask for? Gotta love country music if it always sounds that good!

  • F'in country players....looks like there not even tryin' At least break a sweat...lol. If you don't want to run and go get your guitar after watching this you had might as well go ahead and sell the darn thing :) Yeeeehaaaw.

  • bad ass

  • Hellyheah!!

  • Anyone around here know if Marty Stuart was the guy who played the electic guitar on Johnny Cash's "That Old Wheel"? I know Stuart was one of the gutarists that played on the album (Water from the Wells of Home), but I'm looking for the guitarist on that particular song. Whoever it was, it sounded like he played a Tele.

  • It could have possibly been Luther or Carl Perkins, I am not sure myself?

  • marty played guitar on "i will rock and roll with you" by johnny cash hes a legeng

  • The guit Marty's playin was owned by Clarence White.

  • HOT DAMN!

  • Great Job on the old Reno and Smiley Tune! Marty has always been good about picking up old standards so to say and bringing them back to life!

  • marty is truly a great guy. i got to pick w/ him one time and i started asking him about clarence's tele that he plays and he said,"here, put it on and play it."I did. That was a very special moment for me and i will never forget that. Thanks Marty, your the best!

  • kenny Vaughn kicks ass

  • Gotta agree with you loungecruz. I really would like to see these guys in concert. Marty is the "real deal". Doesn't play this pop country junk we mainly hear on radio now.

  • The bass player keeps trying to get in.. "I want a stupid solo too guys!!"

  • well he is one of the best country bass players around, Paul Martin rocks

    (or is that Brian Glenn)

  • All I hear is hot win coming out of your mouth...

  • No you don't get it. All I'm saying is he's itching for one too... He's a fantastic bass player.

    What's "hot win"?

  • upon further review, thats Brian Glenn. Paul is a little less chops and a little more about groove and time, Brian has a little bit more chops

  • Marty is the man... 5 *

  • Perfecet for when you're tired of folks arguing on youtube.

Bet my ass not a soul would give him 4 stars!

And we're not going to read about any disapointment here, for shure.

Cheers from Brazil to all Clarence White/Marty Stuart fans!

  • I love that Marty let's Kenny grab so much attention. Obviously he's a pretty gracious host and unintimidated by other great guitar players. Most stars are afraid to be upstaged.
