This video is also from the beta and was recorded over a year ago... Ret Pally have seen many nerfs since. You won't see those kinda crits on current day pally. And even more so after the next patch changes ret damage from what I understand.

In the Wrath BETA (mentioned in the title and the description), Art of War was a completely different talent. At the time this video was filmed, Art of War was an ability that had a chance to proc off Crusader Strike. When it procced, your next judgement would do double damage. Furthermore, the OLD Judgement of Command (which is what is being used in this video) would do double damage if used against a stunned target. These two abilities combined to do four times as much damage, thus 17k.

You can see the Art of War proc at 0:19 (the purple circle like thing on the Paladin). After this, I simply blow all my cooldowns (trinkets, wings), stun the target with Hammer of Justice, and then judge. Note that this is no longer possible though! Art of War has been completely changed, the spell & AP coefficients are also different, and judging command on a stunned target no longer does double damage. Instead, it's just a guaranteed crit. Therefore, you will not be able to reproduce this.

It is in beta...they werent scaled right...the ret pallys sometimes did 17k crits and random high crits....doesnt happen any more fully geared and fully buffed fully everything...you could maybe get 13k

Why is it general consensus that paladins are OP, and the only excuse they can come up with is that they are balanced for lvl 80? Shouldn't all classes be balanced for 80 now? Yes? SO why is it that only a ret pally is able to take down nearly ANY toon in 3 seconds flat regardless of resilience/armor/resistances/h­ealth? I can at least go a few rounds with a boomkin or fire mage before I die. Hurray for 3 instant casts + an auto-attack for 15k damage while being invincible and time to spare.

Again everyone is complaining about this damage when this was before the massive nerf hammer delivered to the retribution paladins, as well as the consecutive nerfs provided in the live 3.0.2 version you're all playing on right now. This was posted in July when the buffs they played with were way too strong and realized that the class could build massive damage with the adjustment of how Strength, Int etc worked. Ret's about = with most classes 1 on 1 depending on cooldowns and spec.
