If you ask the average European/British (since it is a show in the UK) person, they won't have any idea who she is and if they do, they will only know one, maybe two things she did in her career. Stephen Fry is pure class, the man is unbelievable, respectable plus the vast majority of ppl in the UK/Europe know who he is, as opposed to Bette Midler. This is reasonable.

@thranduillion The same can be said for most of the other icons of Bette's time though: Cher, Barbra Streisand, Liza would not be identified by a lot of the British public, for the simple fact they aren't rammed down our throats like other 'so-called' celebrities around at the moment. There's no argument Stephen is pure class, and I think the man is a genius, but Bette Midler is a SUPERSTAR/ICON/LEGEND, and he himself would agree that she would come before him in the pecking order of celebrity.
