@ec44 dude Ahman Green competed in the nfls fastest man competition like 3 times and although he never won it he was almost stride for stride with the winner. So YEAH he was a speedster go check out some of his highlights
he is a beast. he is a graduate of the highschool i go to and to be honest he's actually a short guy, but he's buff as hell. oh yeah and cruikshank, he's in the nfl now and plays for the packers
his first year.. in my opinion.. i dont think he did to well but his 2nd season was great.. i wish grant and jackson rotate in with each other alot more
I thought he did all right his first year. Averaging about 3 yards a carry isn't bad for a rookie. He's no Adrian Peterson, but still. But I've been reading about the Packers and it seems like on 3rd downs and passing downs Jackson's going to start getting more playing time.
ryan grant is more consistant, but i think they are both good. I just like grant better because he is bigger, and is a down hill runner, as for brandon he is more elusive. Personily i like down hill runners better. But next season green bay will have a dominit running game with Noter Dam Ryan Grant Nebraskas Brandon Jackson and Florida Gators Deshawn Wynn.
the packers are supposed to be a run first team but they sure dont use all the running backs they have like they should. they are usually extremely balanced, i just dont think they realize that lol
i sure hope that ur joking. the packers have always been a run first team. they just have never done it. look back on every coach they would say they were a run first team and want to get back to the run more. just becuz they never did it doesnt mean thats not wut they want to.
im talking every coach VL had his offense based on one play! the famous sweep. and he is the greatest coach in packer history so if u say that he is wrong then ur just stubborn n wont admit when ur wrong. packers wana run the ball more than they pass it simple as that becuz by running they will control the tempo of the game but most of the time they arent in a position to do that cuz they are usually always trying to score desperation touchdowns or the lack of talent or injuries set them back!
Calahan fucked us up big time...i dont c how he couldve fuck up the best team in the nation so bad!! we started the 06 season at # 14 and then we dropped fast to 36...damn fucking Calahan ...WELCOME BACK BO!
F*CK YA GO PACK...Grant is soo over rated he had 1 good year.. Jackson should so start over grant.. just wait nd c.. jackson will take starting postion b4 the 5th week
Ryan Grant is pretty good for a guy that only was on the practice squad for the Giants, back when all they had was Tiki Barber, but i think Ryan Grant should be the 3rd down back and goal line back, and Brandon Jackson should be the starter.
Brandon is an AWESOME RB and a great guy. What was the last NFL game all you haters played in?? It is his first season in the NFL-given the chance to actually run the ball and he would do alot.
I'd like to line all u haterz up and watch u fall like dominos when his ass ran u over.. I know this he is arguably the BEST runningback to EVER come out of the state of mississippi.. And of course he is no REGGIE BUSH but hell give him a little time.. thats why he's makin millions an yall are on here scratchin ur ass's
It's just from his junior season, but he didn't do a whole lot before that. Like 400 and 6 TDs as a true freshman and an injury-prone sophomore year. He's not a highlight reel guy, just a tough runner with great vision and balance. Once he adjusts to the speed of the pro game I think he'll be a very solid back. Think Rudi Johnson.
And? He was playing the Big XII. There are plenty of NFL rookies he's balling on there. For example, at 2:09 in the video, that's former Texas safety and first rounder Michael Griffin whose tackle he breaks.
You Dont Need To Be Blazing Fast To Be A Good Running Back.Just Look At Willie Parker,He's Faster Than Steven Jackson,Larry Johnson,Shaun Alexander And In My Opinion Ladanian Tomlinson. But There All Better Running Backs Than Willie Parker
he's startin from day one he is number one on the deph-chart...that experience will only make him ah great back...green-bay has never really had back with blazing speed look how dorsey levens turned out he will get 1,000 this year mark my word got green-bay!!!!!!!!!!!
As a Husker fan, as I'm sure many of you are, Congrats to Green Bay... Fine choice. I'm sorry to see him leave.
In my opinion, If Cody Glenn would have stayed healthy, that would be him in the video... I stand by him all the way... We are going to have one hell of a backfield this year.
A blue-collar put your head down and fight for yardage back, gotta love it. This kid should do good provided he has a good work ethic, now that morency has a limp knee,he has a golden oppurtunity.
His strength isn't his breakaway speed (although he did run a 4.38 at Nebraska's pro day on field turf). He's got the vision, balance, agility and toughness to succeed in Green Bay's zone blocking system (Nebraska runs a very similar offense). I think he'll end up having the best career out of any back outside of AD in this draft.
not to be a nerd, but he ran a 4.41 at his pro day, but still he doesn't play that fast. sounds like he had a great night for the family night scrimmage, though. he definitely has a lot of upside--i hope that comes out when the season starts (i'd like to see him take the starting job from morency---we know what we have in him)
Ah I thought I remembered one of his times being 4.38. Might be wrong though. Either way, as both a Husker fan and Packer fan, I'm obviously excited to see what he can do in Green Bay and I think he fits the offense very well.
by far our best pick......i hope justin isnt a f-up but i dont like it one bit we couldve had him in the 2nd-3rd round he didnt even play much last season at all, and i dont think our DT's were that bad.
I just hope he will play like this in Greenbay, I questioned his pick at first. I thought the Packers should have traded down not up, and somehow managed to get Dwayne Jarrett
Jackson runs very determined. He is not the type will run out of bounds, instead he lowers his shoulder. I think he will be an awesome back for GB. JAckson also has great hands. He does get tripped up easy sometimes, but he is a tough runner and is good at breaking tackles when he puts his shoulder down. I can't wait to see him on sundays this fall.
I think he will be an effective runner for the Packers. Looks like he has a good burst out of his first cut, which is what is needed for the Packers zone-blocking scheme. He has good shiftiness, and looks pretty tough to bring down for his size because he is compact and he keeps his feet moving. I think he is a good value, but we will see once the games are played.
Seeing as how he was the fifth RB taken, and you only named 3 that you think are better than him (2 that were picked in the first round), I would like to hear if you have any opinions on why you think he is overrated. I think he went right where he should've went in the draft. He's not a threat to score 6 every time he touches the ball like a Lynch or Peterson, but he's very consistent and really has no glaring weaknesses.
I really, really hope he pans out. At first I was pissed they didnt try to trade up and get marshawn or something HAHA and when they picked harrel that DT i almost cryed I mean dont get me wrong I'm all for building a storng D but we deffinatly could've used the pick more wisely. But I like his ability to drag like 2 players on his back and still pick up like 5-10 yards its awesome. Welcome to Green Bay dont let us down.
He has really short legs and gets tripped up pretty easily. I dont think he'll have a big impact in the running game for the packers this year but I think he'll have immediate success running screens this season.
Call me crazy, but I like the way he runs better than Lynch. He runs with a better pad level, and seems very good at making the first guy miss. He has a great burst when out of his cuts and looks pretty tough to bring down, despite his size. Can pound it between the tackles but can also take it outside. This is my favorite pick of the Packers draft.
hmm... what he lacks in explosiveness he makes up in his great reads of holes. not flashy but makes the right moves at the right times. doesnt seem to break many tackles, runs smart. He may beat out morency but not sure. still think gm teddy boy is an idiot but this kid may play hard.
Being a Lincoln student as well as a huge Packer fan, I'm pretty happy with the pick. Jackson has split snaps most of his time at NU but still entered the draft as a top RB. He'll be good for extending GB's run yard/attempt from 2 yards to 3(sarcasm). PS...that Texas run at 2:00 was sick!
what a great pick for gb. i love the way this kid runs the ball. north and south mostly. barely any sideline to sideline runs and he hits the hole quick. his style also reminds me of steven jackson and frank gore. conclusion: I FUCKING HOPE HE BECOMES GREEN BAY'S STARTER!!!!!
packers in 07-08(i hope) i love the new squad not so sure about the first 2 pick a DT and brandon jackson but hey im not going 2nd guess the choice only time can tell now.
To me, he already looks like an NFL RB. He has a low center of gravity and I love the way that he lowers his shoulder when he's about to make contact. He's tough and he has a great burst through the hole. Able to run between the tackles as well as outside.
I think that it was a smart pick. There not building around Favre there building from the lines out. They are making shure the D is strong and Rodgers can have a chance to suceed. I say good pick TT. Also this pick makes it very interesting. I hope Brandon can be very sucessful.
I agree that he looks better than pittman, I guess only time will tell, but i'm excited. I am much more optomistic about these draft picks than I was (not saying it went perfectly)
YesSs i believe it was a steal he always moves foward and is tuff kuz he is a cornhusker its bred in them but i still wanted Bowe in the 1st round our d line is the deepest in the NFL
Not only have we found our future franchise Running Back but we also may have found the next Dezzy Howard in our kick return game..cant wait to see this guy tear it up
He definitely looks better than Antonio Pittman. I think he'll be a good fit for the Packers. I think he might be even a better fit than Lynch. Lynch dances much more. Jackson just bursts through the hole, but he still has a good wiggle. Great for the zone-blocking scheme that we have.
Ok stop knocking other good backs to lift up Jackson. Jackson wasn't even on the same radar as those two in terms of production/importance to their team.
i agree that he seems quick in these, but did you see most of those holes the oline opened up for him? you could drive trucks through them. he broke a lot of shoe string tackles. he seems shifty and seems to know how to avoid being hit hard
He seems to have good feet. According to scouts(from the packers and the media hype machine) he's good at finding a hole and exploding through it. Seems to fit what the Packers are trying to do.
Huskers have always run the zone blocking scheme introduced only last year to GB...this was a very strategic pick. Jackson and Morency should be a pretty productive dual-back combo behind that young line of Clifton, Colledge, Spitz, Tauscher and Wells.
geez, i love how he NEVER ever stops his feet. they just keep churning straight ahead and almost every time it takes more than one guy to bring him down. LOVE IT! he also has very good balance to get him more than a handful of extra yards after contact. GO PACK!
I don't know..he looks kind of slow and the tackling won't be that poor in the NFL. Looks like he may be a good fit for the zone blocking scheme though, let's hope it works out
BRANDON JACKSON!! He attended HORN LAKE HIGH SCHOOL!! The school I attend now, he visits the school like twice a month. He is one of my favorite players, and I am proud to say I go to the school he went to.
This guy looks good, he may not be lightning, but this guy has some strong legs to power through people. And you people who say Harrell was not a good pick, he will help improve the dline, which already has aaron kampman, cullen jenkins, and ryan pickett. This line will be killer!
i think he'll probably end up our starting back, but he doesnt seem that quick, just good at finding holes like Samkon Gado was... hopefully he pans out... I would have rather had Antonio Pittman at that pick
He ran a 4.38 at Nebraska's pro day on field turf. He's not the fastest guy, but he's got some wheels. His vision and hands are going to help him out tremendously. As a Husker fan and a Packers fan, I couldn't be happier than I am to see B-Jax replacing Ahman.

JimmiWilks 4 years ago
He has really short legs and gets tripped up pretty easily. I dont think he'll have a big impact in the running game for the packers this year but I think he'll have immediate success running screens this season.

welcome to Green Bay

Great Pick! Welcome to Green Bay! Excited to have this guy
inimicall 4 years ago
Call me crazy, but I like the way he runs better than Lynch. He runs with a better pad level, and seems very good at making the first guy miss. He has a great burst when out of his cuts and looks pretty tough to bring down, despite his size. Can pound it between the tackles but can also take it outside. This is my favorite pick of the Packers draft.
wayneylin 4 years ago
hmm... what he lacks in explosiveness he makes up in his great reads of holes. not flashy but makes the right moves at the right times. doesnt seem to break many tackles, runs smart. He may beat out morency but not sure. still think gm teddy boy is an idiot but this kid may play hard.
dmcgloine 4 years ago
Being a Lincoln student as well as a huge Packer fan, I'm pretty happy with the pick. Jackson has split snaps most of his time at NU but still entered the draft as a top RB. He'll be good for extending GB's run yard/attempt from 2 yards to 3(sarcasm). PS...that Texas run at 2:00 was sick!
jeremybell2477 4 years ago
what a great pick for gb. i love the way this kid runs the ball. north and south mostly. barely any sideline to sideline runs and he hits the hole quick. his style also reminds me of steven jackson and frank gore. conclusion: I FUCKING HOPE HE BECOMES GREEN BAY'S STARTER!!!!!
01thao 4 years ago
It's just scary to think what he could've done this past year if he didn't have to split time with 3 other backs.

packers in 07-08(i hope) i love the new squad not so sure about the first 2 pick a DT and brandon jackson but hey im not going 2nd guess the choice only time can tell now.

BRANDON JACKSON!! went to my school. I am currently attending that high school and he comes and visits all the time!!
hlpoke23 4 years ago
To me, he already looks like an NFL RB. He has a low center of gravity and I love the way that he lowers his shoulder when he's about to make contact. He's tough and he has a great burst through the hole. Able to run between the tackles as well as outside.
wayneylin 4 years ago
doesnt ne body think we shouldnt have went DT in the 1st round??
GUTTA7360 4 years ago
I think that it was a smart pick. There not building around Favre there building from the lines out. They are making shure the D is strong and Rodgers can have a chance to suceed. I say good pick TT. Also this pick makes it very interesting. I hope Brandon can be very sucessful.
PaleWarrior1990 4 years ago
I agree that he looks better than pittman, I guess only time will tell, but i'm excited. I am much more optomistic about these draft picks than I was (not saying it went perfectly)
hankymantip 4 years ago
YesSs i believe it was a steal he always moves foward and is tuff kuz he is a cornhusker its bred in them but i still wanted Bowe in the 1st round our d line is the deepest in the NFL
GUTTA7360 4 years ago
Not only have we found our future franchise Running Back but we also may have found the next Dezzy Howard in our kick return game..cant wait to see this guy tear it up
AtotheJ4 4 years ago
He definitely looks better than Antonio Pittman. I think he'll be a good fit for the Packers. I think he might be even a better fit than Lynch. Lynch dances much more. Jackson just bursts through the hole, but he still has a good wiggle. Great for the zone-blocking scheme that we have.
wayneylin 4 years ago
Ok stop knocking other good backs to lift up Jackson. Jackson wasn't even on the same radar as those two in terms of production/importance to their team.

I like the pick, anyone know who and what the first song was on this video?
codered3223 4 years ago
Sharp, quick cuts. Good, quick feet. Seems to have good vision. Tough to bring down and always going forward. I like the pick.
CoryT9783 4 years ago
i agree that he seems quick in these, but did you see most of those holes the oline opened up for him? you could drive trucks through them. he broke a lot of shoe string tackles. he seems shifty and seems to know how to avoid being hit hard
sleeping8s 4 years ago
He seems to have good feet. According to scouts(from the packers and the media hype machine) he's good at finding a hole and exploding through it. Seems to fit what the Packers are trying to do.
CoryT9783 4 years ago
Huskers have always run the zone blocking scheme introduced only last year to GB...this was a very strategic pick. Jackson and Morency should be a pretty productive dual-back combo behind that young line of Clifton, Colledge, Spitz, Tauscher and Wells.
rabrams420 4 years ago
Ahman Green was a Husker, it only makes sense that his successor is too. Welcome to the Pack.
DoomSong8 4 years ago
geez, i love how he NEVER ever stops his feet. they just keep churning straight ahead and almost every time it takes more than one guy to bring him down. LOVE IT! he also has very good balance to get him more than a handful of extra yards after contact. GO PACK!

Welcome to Green Bay baby!

i think he was a good pick...GO PACKERS
bobius2710 4 years ago
I don't know..he looks kind of slow and the tackling won't be that poor in the NFL. Looks like he may be a good fit for the zone blocking scheme though, let's hope it works out

BRANDON JACKSON!! He attended HORN LAKE HIGH SCHOOL!! The school I attend now, he visits the school like twice a month. He is one of my favorite players, and I am proud to say I go to the school he went to.
hlpoke23 4 years ago
i like how he can catch the ball well to i am pretty sure he will be the starter.
ranger8181 4 years ago
the packers now have a solid duo of running backs, morency can burn guys and jackson can run strong and solid! GO PACKERS!
lcisneiros 4 years ago
This guy looks good, he may not be lightning, but this guy has some strong legs to power through people. And you people who say Harrell was not a good pick, he will help improve the dline, which already has aaron kampman, cullen jenkins, and ryan pickett. This line will be killer!
studlyduffman 4 years ago
don't forget KGB on passing downs
01thao 4 years ago
Hes also got some quick moves.
ranger8181 4 years ago
like you guys said he dont look that fast but hes got some wheels i think hes more of a power runner kinda like Davenport was.
ranger8181 4 years ago
i think he'll probably end up our starting back, but he doesnt seem that quick, just good at finding holes like Samkon Gado was... hopefully he pans out... I would have rather had Antonio Pittman at that pick
chadakapops 4 years ago
He ran a 4.38 at Nebraska's pro day on field turf. He's not the fastest guy, but he's got some wheels. His vision and hands are going to help him out tremendously. As a Husker fan and a Packers fan, I couldn't be happier than I am to see B-Jax replacing Ahman.
