jose canseco was a waiver claim deal...the other 20-25 teams that were in front of them in the waiver wire could have claimed him...they didn't.
i could ask the same question about the red sox farm with future stars such as Casey " I have a 5.30 era in AA" Kelly, who the red sox refused to deal for Halladay.
what good players have the yankees signed that they didn't need? CC, was much needed, AJ was needed, Tex needed...unlike John Lackey, who Boston did not need and signed anyway

wellllllllllll......... i know this video is 4 years old, but look who has the best record now? who has the just one world series? the mets are bad luck for any player that goes there. the mets always choke before the playoffs. and people always say oh well the yanks have been around longer, well in the yankees first 48 years of baseball, the yanks have won 14 world series titles. i think thats more than 2.
