  • Hi, I was just wondering what kind of pedal/amp are you using on that one? I'm trying to get a Pink Floyd sound and was just considering buying a Standard Strat, but I also wanted a good pedal. Would it be better to start with delay or reverb pedal? Thanks!

  • how much is that guitar?

  • for all of you that want one. you better have one hell of an amp to go with this guitar. i have one and it doesnt sound too good on a shit amp. so invest in an amp and some effects before buying this.

  • SO BEAUTIFULL! GUITAR MMMM HERMOSA GUITARRA

  • Favorited for the playing! :D

  • @Soroki121 Too expensive for what it is. And they break often too.

  • You've got terrific playing! What pedals were you using, and do you know what pickups are on the black strat?

  • how much can i buy it for?

  • A guitar is much Like a woman. You have to hold her in your arms. You have to love her. If she feels right, then she's the one for you. You have to show her lots if attention and take great care of her.. If she becomes warped or twisted, you can remove her neck...

  • That is some sweet music...

  • that awesome sound on LINE 6?!?!?! dear lord ...

  • How much its cost?

  • I saw one at my local music shop, with the price tag saying 7950 Norwegian kroner, and I coulnd't believe my f****** eyes! I'm so going to buy one...

  • @sp1naway Why do you care if somebody doesn't like line 6 amps? FYI, the term 'solid state' does not really correctly refer to the amps that Line 6 makes. You would be closer to the mark if you said 'digital'.

  • awesome guitar!

  • AWESOME GUITAR!

  • AWESOME! GUITAR!!!!!

  • is this 7.25 inch radius with vintage style frets.

  • What does it mean NOS? Thanks!

  • this guy needs to sort out his vibrato!

  • boner

  • i have the line 6 spider iv amp 15 watt and some of the tones i get out of it are to die for!

  • @2003jackb yeah dude i bet they are lol

  • my god, that that guitar is fantastic.

  • @Soroki121 the line 6 spider can sound nice once you spend about 45 fucking hours straight trying to coax the sound you want out of it. or more like 65 in my case. not really worth it but after enough tinkering (likeall modeling amps) you can find the right sound

  • What is this tiny thing above the pickup changer?

  • how much are you selling these for?

  • how much are you selling these for? i dont want to have to pay 4,000 to get one from guitar center

  • I think I'm melting.Check on me in 2 mins will ya?And form a LINE 6?I wanna change my Strat right now!

  • haha nice licks but you can tell its a line 6 just by seeing it

  • through a Line 6????? shame on you.

  • That amp doesn't desrve a guitar like that!

  • 0:55

  • How much is this guitar?

  • @WaltonWembleyMusic Im not sure, but I think around $4,000

  • They nailed the tone. SICK!

  • I want one bad

  • la fender è stupenda..ma la csa ke la rende unica è ke è suonata da david!!

  • that guitar's tone = sex.

  • I like this jam track on the line 6! The B B King style one as well! Lovely guitar Too!

  • Can't see the money in Strats...don't get me wrong i still own the new one i bought right back in 1981 but they were never a handcrafted musical instrument. They came apart and bolted back together like meccano parts for ease of use and repair.I love 'em but they were always just a tool...David Gilmour himself says as much at the end of the "black strat" book.$3000 up for a Strat is a piss take.

  • my god

  • the guitar have some special pups? why sound that way? what kind of pedal effect is using here? thx...

  • Where can i buy one ??

  • right here.

    800-452-2991

    ask for Eric

  • @portlandmusic, If you buy a regular standard black and white strat, but you change the pickguard to black, you can make it look just like this one? or is there more to it?

  • @Jazzguitarist123 You can make it look like that guitar, but it won't sound the same. Theres a lot more to it.

  • NOS stands for: "New Old Stock". These guitars came in during 1998 when Fender expanded their line and they were part of what they called their "Time Machine" line. They were, essentially, guitars that were made to look older than they were. The NOS models were one of three brought out at that time: the other two were the "Relic" style, artificially aged, and the "Closet Classic", made to look as though it was bought way back when and then put in the closet for a few years!!

  • why the hell is he playing through a spider amp? this guitar is megabucks and the amp is peanuts

  • great guitar!!!! but probably it would sound better with other amp, maybe the vox ac30 i believe

  • NOS - New Old Stock. It's usually reference to older instruments or equipment that was on the shelves forever but never sold, thus NOS. This guitar is not really NOS, but a recreation of his guitar as if it sat in the closet, store, forever unsold. The tone actually is good considering that the guy is using a POS Line 6 solid state modeling turd amp. I don't know if I could part with my entire penis for this guitar...but perhaps one nut?

  • New Old Stock

  • wat does nos mean?

  • @theboywhocantollie

    NOS = New Old Stock.

  • new old stock, basically, its the guitar without the relic finish

  • I pretty sure NOS means, "New Old Stock"

  • I love the tone!! Unmistakable!

  • mmm, i like the gilmour tone, but this tone is SHITTY, serious, it's sounding empty, too much drive, or too high output, dunno, but i've one myself, and the guitar is killing!

  • whats the name of this song??

  • not sure but i think backing tracks from line6 amp.

i've pedal version of that amp, line6 jm4.

  • i wanna chop my penis off and get this guitar.... period.

  • @manoshivits Why not just buy the guitar..

  • ha,haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...priceless

  • @manoshivits

You don't have to, really. Just save up a bunch of money.

  • @manoshivits make a copy!

  • a great guitar will sound pretty good through a higher end spider, but it still won't even compare to a tube amp.

  • Yeah I didn't like the tone that much either, but this guy is a great guitarist!

  • this just shows how important your cables are no matter how good the guitar or amp

  • awsome guitar

  • really really fucking excellent sound. screw those people who just think that there overpriced instruments and your only paying for a name this guitar says diffrent

  • That guitar deserves to be played through a high quality tube amp!! This amp doesn't do it justice! Plug it into a Fender or Marshall.

  • so does it come with his signature shortened trem arm?

  • oh.....what a beautiful guitar

  • MAROONED!

  • what is this for a amp? line 6??

  • The Line 6 Jam Track.

  • line 6 spieder jam i think

  • i love it,, but honestly i never heard anything by fender i didnt like!

  • imagine what it would sound like through anything other than a piece of crap spider!!

  • What a fucking sound! Amazing guitar..

  • what is this he is playing guys ?

  • nice

  • exactally what i thought when i clicked the vid and it came up

  • nos means new old stock when it come to tubes

  • That does sing pretty nice.

  • can you buy a strat all black that isnt this one?

  • no but you can do what i did and just buy a black strat with a white pickguard and then just buy a black guard and replace the white one

  • waterworks410 is wrong.

Of course you can buy one there's lot of configurations for strats.

  • you are wrong, this is the only black on black strat fender produces

  • You also are partically wrong Fender did make one that had black everything but it was an HSS strat

  • They also have a black on black model with black pickups and knobs too. The Edge used one and I've seen others.

It may be out of production now, so yeah maybe you're right that this is the only one they're currently producing.

  • Where is your trem bar?

  • David doesn't use.

  • David uses a trem arm on about 99% of his songs actually.

  • he forgot to screw it on the guitar :)

  • Is it really worh the money?

I mean...Id' get the 50's classic issue strat in black..change the pickguard and the pickups...then you practically have the same thing for about £450

  • Whatever I just heard , it had the nice 'throaty' Gilmour sound.

  • hes playing my amp!

  • I think NOS stands for New Old Stock. It's a marketing buzz word. This guitar is not NOS. It is plain old new. It's worth no more than the other strats you see on the wall.

  • actually it means that it's a brand new version of an old guitar, gilmour's strat is a late 60s stratocaster, and if you see there's also a relic version, but this one is supposed to show the guitar as brand new, and it's worth a lot more than the plain strats hanging on the wall, as it's made in the Fender Custom Shop.

  • SAVE MONEY AND BUILD YOUR OWN BLACK STRAT...I DID!

    Brand new American Fender Strat: $1,050.00;

    Replacement pups: SSL-5, Custom '69, Fat '50 altogether were $155.00 (new & used on Ebay);

    The thick black pickguard with "magic switch" was $60 brand new on Ebay;

The shortened tremolo bar was $23 brand new on Ebay.

    Labor to install everything: $120.00

TOTAL: $1,408.00 ... Talk about a huge savings! Prices include shipping fees and taxes.

It looks like the real thing and sounds like it too!

  • That's fine, but your $400 stratocaster is going to be worth nothing except as a parts guitar. Genuine strats in 40/50 years will be worth an absolute fortune. For most people, that's not an issue, but there are many guitar collectors out there who would rather have the real deal for the sake of resale value

  • @315hb your wrong

  • not the real tone.. crank wit hiwatt

  • yes but play it with a hiwatt, not with that poor ampli

  • well it certinley liives up to its reputation

  • perfect guitar awesome amp what more you want?

  • pls can redo this on an other amp?

    bassman would be great...

  • What song is he playing???? i thought i kne them all lol

  • the song he's playin' isn't a floyd tune, i know the song though, but I can't remember the name

  • the song he's playing is just one of the demo groove built-in the amp , he's just improvising on it

  • What a great sound ! It's so beautiful !

  • that is such a nice sound, funny because some of the sound is comming from the line 6 amp

  • would anyone buy a red 1957 custom strat with emgs like gilmours if fender produces one?

  • Beautiful instrument...Not worth the $4,000 asking price however..

  • What amp was that ?

  • matt............you the man!

  • WOW, totally sexy, great body, gotta have it.......................nice guitar too!

which is better, the vintage or nos?

give the guy a break about the amp already....................he has enough problems.

  • Who needs a woman when he can have such a beautiful guitar instead!

  • very nice.... how much

  • 5000...

  • shouldve played on a decent amp like hot rod deville or something along those lines

  • does it come with a whammy

  • yes it does

  • Nice and shiny new and sounds awesome...I want one!

  • it looks si much better than the other strats with those ugly ass pickgaurd they have

  • he caught gilmours tone because thats gilmours guitar....hey matt, what song is this???

  • what song is this

  • music store matt plays pretty good....the custom shop gilmour is nice, but you can build one for about a 1/4 of the price, just finished mine and its incredible, a lot more appreciative that i built it myself, and i saved 3 grand! nice playing though and nice guitar!

  • caught the gilmour tone right there

  • How much of a difference is there between a david gilmour signature neck and a standard V neck?

  • Music store Matt, You are good !!! Another Dave, maybe ???

  • Out of all the signature guitars this is the first i would buy, and I really wany a jem, or malmsteen strat

  • CRAP i envy you so much.

  • i love this guiatr so much gotta love that fat warm tone sorta reminds me bit more of some les pauls rather than strats

  • you lucky man dude.

  • how much is this?

  • $4,000 : (

  • damn imagine how much gilmour's guitar would go on ebay...

  • too much

  • 4 grand lol

If I had 4 grand, I would buy it within a heart beat

  • Me too man.

  • wow. Your solo was very much in the style of gilmour!

  • A "gilmourish" solo.

  • What song is he playing here?

  • thats just a groove buit-in the Line 6 spider Jam

  • @IDM112 did you ever figure out what he is playing? it sound very much like Gilmour but I don't know the track.

    Please help!

  • @murphitz it's a track programmed into the line 6 amp

  • awesome guitar and awesome playing. i'm having a hard time figuring out why you would pick a line6 out of a store full of amps though.

  • I thought exactly the same thing when he reached over to it?

  • probably because it had the background groove that sounded pink floyd ish

  • If it included David gilmours REAL signature and not the guy who made the book (who wants his?) I would think about it. Other wise his hiwatt amp, Daivd gilmour pick ups and will get you just as good. Whos signatur guitar did david use? haha

  • Jesus CHRIST! This is the Holy Grail for Pink Floyd and Gilmour fans...and it can be bought!

For lots of money :( (Savesavesave)

  • Thanks for a great first look at the new gilmour strat. Its obvious that the guitar is a very special creation. The tone, character and looks really stand out.

  • great playing.. great guitar. Needs a tube amp tho

  • THE SHINY THINGS RULE!!!

  • what are you talking about?

  • ITS SHINEY!!!

  • Man, do I want that guitar! :O

  • beautiful....

  • Sure use a digital amp for this... It needs hot tubes.

  • Still sounds good to me

  • thanks....he`s not imitating David Gilmour!

  • DUDE I LIVE IN EUGENE!

  • I played the DG Relic the other day, it sounded good, but a little difficult to play. But, I want one. I don't understand Y the NOS is so expensive. A EJ strat is $1700

    The NOS should be that

  • The Eric Johnson strat is built in the usual factory, but the David Gilmour is built in the CUSTOM SHOP by the best guys in the business. Craftsmanship costs. ;)

  • to be honest with u guys line six spyder amps are actually really good... if you have lik a 75 watt one but the distortion is nice, and its clean isnt all that bad...

    really good cheao amp

  • i would sell my kidney for that

  • aw play it through a real amp...

  • Great playing man and a what can anyone say about that guitar... Just Amazing... Whats the Backing Track you are using?

  • please use another amp!

  • Amazing guitar, keep on rocking

  • i like your playing. I;m sure you were just jaded in the moment by the brand new, slick replica guitar.

  • yeah i agre with tommart, dont spend that kind of money on a guitar if your gonna plug it into a tiny 16 watt bottom of the line amp.

thats the amp I use. im 13.

  • I think we get it by now and we have explained the choice of amp earlier.

  • what song is it you're playing?

  • what the hell are they going plugging it into a line 6!!! thats criminal!!!!!

  • nice guitar....take a hiwatt...xD

  • TONE sucks, is a nice guitar but the amp is a crap ... plug it into a marshall or fender tube amp ...

  • Wow! Such a great tone.

  • Amazing, I am so jealous, there isn't anywhere near where I live that has one.

  • WOW!!What a beautiful sounding guitar! Too bad it costs an arm and a leg...
