i dont remember why he had to leave (i think it was something to do with a lawsuit?) but her narration at the beginning was carol telling luka why she couldnt be with him(luka) and why she had to go to seattle to be with doug .. the part with the boat was her last episode where she went to seattle to be with doug. i hope that helps =]
