I happen to see a lot of younger people focus just on speed when they need to learn to accent properly, and also use finesse to some degree, though I do like metal drumming a lot myself. do single stroke rolls with accents on somthing with no rebound ( a pillow ) do it for as long as you can, till it hutrs, then do it again, and again and again. also just sit there with your left hand going without your right hand, helps a lot, be patient and practice as much as possible for as long as possible. when its burning, its working

Well, the thing with triggers is that it makes the drum sound the same no matter how u play it. so u could barely be tapping the bass drum, or tom and if would sound like ur hitting with the same force u usually would be. in my opinion triggers for double bass are kinda cheap.....
your longer blasting periods are never straight 16th notes. is like for each half note you play seven notes. when you blast for like one measure long, then you play eight notes for each half note, althoug your playing is indeed really fast. I cant do that using finger technique (yours is great)... I do it only with my right wrist (long blastings) haha, so what....
for example, I would pay more attention to you, once you always full yourself when talking about other drummers, if you could shoot your 280 blasts for at least two measures using only one foot. not that you need or care to my attention, hehe

for me this kind of drumming is about pushing the fisical limits, never using illusional tricks, like setting to 300 and playing patterns in dotted quarters, or technical, like the gravity blast (which by the way is pretty cool).

Blastphemer has built his entire drumming style on finger technique in his blasts. It obviously works for him, or he wouldn't have toured with Belphegor. Blasting with your wrists requires so much more energy. Show me a drummer that blasts with his wrists that blasts 280 or more on a consistent level. Using your fingers for blast beats is just so much easier.
Love metal. Hate blast beats. But that aside, your playing is ridiculously impressive, good job. If you want stuff to get truly complex though, look into fusion jazz.
What you have to keep in mind is that he's very young. Early twenties, if I'm not mistaken. Also, he toured with Belphegor, which is a brutal European black metal band. He is also from Germany, whether he currently resides there is unknown to me, but if he does it would make him less available for a United States tour. I'm sure he will get out eventually; he's way to good to be in the dark for long.

for me this kind of drumming is about pushing the fisical limits, never using illusional tricks, like setting to 300 and playing patterns in dotted quarters, or technical, like the gravity blast (which by the way is pretty cool).

well I would say you can "fool around" in 240. rookie stuff by the way. you and any other guy such as kollias or roddy cannot match that french dude romain. I´ve watched your vids, I´m not saying you´re not good. I´m saying that anyone can set the meth to 13.502 bpm and start fooling and shooting some nice stuff.

@TheresAFuckingDuck He's another king....I just appreciate Gene Hoglan alot because of what he did with Death. I believe their are many drummers that could "out-drum" him, but his style IMHO played a key role in what metal drumming is today, for me he did at least. =)

Blastphemer has built his entire drumming style on finger technique in his blasts. It obviously works for him, or he wouldn't have toured with Belphegor. Blasting with your wrists requires so much more energy. Show me a drummer that blasts with his wrists that blasts 280 or more on a consistent level. Using your fingers for blast beats is just so much easier.

What you have to keep in mind is that he's very young. Early twenties, if I'm not mistaken. Also, he toured with Belphegor, which is a brutal European black metal band. He is also from Germany, whether he currently resides there is unknown to me, but if he does it would make him less available for a United States tour. I'm sure he will get out eventually; he's way to good to be in the dark for long.
