Man°!!!...i forgot about pioneer's supertuner i use to have one on my car that went under the dash cuz it was too big for the factory radio location!!!!
I'm also trying to find out the same thing; do they still tour.. I'm going to google them and see if they have a website. will post back here if they do and if they tour
"84" -"85" I agree...that was a great time to be in high school. 80's music was awesome. Partying, being happy & feeling good about life. Times have changed for sure. but i'm sure the kids now when their in their 40's will be saying the same things.
I remember this song came out the year after I graduated. I would hear this song and think of the girl I was in love with since the 7th grade but never let her know how I felt. We were friends and she had a boyfriend, but there was always something there. MAN.... the 80's were GREAT!!! Such and awesome time in my life!

....Categorically was NOT awesome being a kid in the '80s. This stuff fucking played 24 goddam 7. Hear that gated snare?? '80s music production values FUCKING. SUCK. Sucked then suck now. Beneath the dated sound this isnt a half bad pop song, and Donnie Van Zandt is a killer singer.
Poor guy.. You must have been short, fat and ugly. I wish I could have that time back now, I love this song. 38 Special was one of the great ones, then and now...
Man not to sound corny and I'm totally happy with the way things are now in my life, if not so much the world. But back then the WORLD was a more peaceful place. Flamboyant and decadent sure but peaceful. It was before the age of computers. Before kids started becoming fat and pasty by sitting inside all day. Back before the world became digital. Each generation looks back and thinks the one before it was right. I'm not saying the 80's were the best decade but it was a good time.
The 80's was the best time of my life, I try to tell my kids that while they sit on the computer or stay inside all day! I don't know how old u r but it's nice to know some younger ones out there would have appreciated it. Thanx!
I'm probably about your age. Not a kid but I wouldn't want to be a kid again in this day and age. I was happy to be young when there weren't really computers.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I guess 86 wasn't great for everyone. You are right though that the 80's had some awesome music. People tend to think of only hair bands when talking about the 80's. There was so much more music with substance than that :)
Though I don't condone one-night stands like this song advocates, I do think you only get one life and you darn well better make the most of it. I think mine is more than half over and it makes me feel awful.
38 still out there going strong. While they are still a great band they really took a hit when Jeff Carlisi left the band. I'd love to see him back with them.
I remember being 14 years old and seeing this video on MTV (back when they ACTUALLY played VIDEOS) begged my mom for a ride to the record store and bought Strength in Numbers on cassette. I wore that bad boy OUT! LOL! Great memories. Thx for the post.
Saw these guys for the first time at a football stadium in Portsmouth Virginia. The concert lineup included Blackfoot,38Special,The Rossington Collins Band, and Molly Hatchet. The best southern rock concert ive ever been to.
I have been wearing out a vinyl lp copy of Strength in Numbers ,it is not my favorite 38 lp ,but it is a great mid 80s lp with allot of killer guitar work.
I have seen 38 Special 3 times twice in Salisbury Maryland, and once in a semi outside concert at Maryweather Post Pavilion in Columbia Maryland with Van Halen, and Night Ranger.Talk about an awsome concert to remember!! When 38 sang "Caught Up In You" I remember my hair standing staight up.They sounded exactly like thier album. The sell out croud went crazy!
The lead singer is Don Barnes. After the "Strength In Numbers" albumn, Don left the band for a period of time. I'm glad he's back with them. His voice is incredible!
Many a great southern rock act utilized two drummers... i.e. Outlaws, Allman Brothers, Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker etc. etc. Two drummers means a solid foundation for a reliable "backbone" of a "groove" and a "mirror image" beat that lands on time (consistently) all the time - laying down a "cornerstone" that is fundamentally accurate and precise as far as "landing on time" is concerned. It has a "straight forward" stance to it that is geared more towards the "mainstream" 4/4 time signature

Their first album, "Wild Eyed Southern Boys", was the sheet when it came out. Hold on Losely, Fantasy Girl, Wild Eyed Southern Boys, three strong singles and the rest was pretty good as well. They cleaned up for this vidoe, as they had significantly more hair when they started out.
It's simply amazing. Talent that makes it look easy.Without a doubt one of America's greatest Rock bands. There music will be around forever and many young kids just like we did will,, make love to,, party to,, and just listen to there great great stuff. There music is a part of us all.
I saw 38 special in 2006, when they opened for lynyrd skynyrd that was one of the best shows I saw.I'd go see them again no doubt
