I "also" play a DR.Z ( 'script-jr. ) & I believe that you cannot get any better of an amp than the Dr.Z's, & the Z-Wreck is the "King-of-the-hill" per-se. But what we do NOT know is what speakers are in the cab???

Mr. dude what are your thoughts about this amp in general for country or is it a bit much for the most part ? It has great tone, not sure how brad paisley has a nice clean tone ,they are fairly loud arnt they. What do ya think ?

I hate Paisleys music, for the most part. His lyrics are just ridiculous. But, he is a great player, and that's often overshadowed by his attempts at being some kind of country "superstar", and, unfortunately, all his non-musician fans, just don't know the difference. I'd personally would like to see him do a more of a chet atkins kind of thing, and abandon this crap that he writes now. Instrumental music is so much better anyway,.. no ones trying to ram an opinion down your throat.

@MrDimebuck Man, I love Chet Atkins, but he himself loved songs, as opposed to instrumental music. He was ashamed of his voice. That's why he rarely sang. But he did, occasionally. His quest was to make his guitar sound like a human voice. I love instrumental music, but you can't knock songs like that.

@MrDimebuck Atkins was a genius. A legend in the world of music, and one of my personal favorites. But let's be honest, he wasn't the greatest lyricist in the world. They were often heartfelt but slightly off. I've never listened to Paisley very deeply, but from what I heard he has a personal style which largely includes humor/derision as its focus. I'm not saying it's genius, but it's different and I respect that.

Dr Z makes high quality stuff, I'd have one if I could afford them. They sound best with their own Cab. Gearmandude, I just ordered a Splawn Quick Rod head. The Quick Rod sounds like a MArshall Plexi & a JCM-800 on Steroids :-) Great little US Company.

I like the Z amps the problem is it breaks up to quick.. In country that destroys your tone.. Especially for chicken pickin.. The best amp, the one that I use in the studio all the time is a 67' or earlier Fender Bassman.. Still the best amp I own and I have 2 Z's both given to me.. The z is fine for about 2 sounds.. Also check out the Carr.. Very good sounding amp.. Just trying to help you all out..
