curry was good fighter at welterweight just did'nt have the power to move up in weights he should stayed A welterweight and tried A rematch with honeyghan
@TheUruguay3050 That sounds sensible. However, Curry had major issues making Welterweight for years prior to the Honeyghan fight. The weight issues was a big time factor in Curry losing to Honeyghan.
@BrotherJR76 Just face it fellas-every time Curry fought someone really good, aside from Starling, he got wasted. Honeyghan, McCallum, Nunn and Norris here. He just turned out not to be the next Sugar Ray Leonard which everybody had thought he was. But thats common in USA, to overate a really good fighter and turn him into a future legend.
@rspen461 So what he was 29!!! Some fighters age quicker than others, not all fighters age at the same rate. You compare the Curry that fought Norris with the Curry during his years as Welterweight champ and there's no question that Curry was past his prime when he fought Norris. Watch video of Donald Curry from 1982-1985 and you'll see that Curry was far better then. The Curry who annihilated Milton McCrory in 2 rds and completely outclassed Colin Jones would have given Terry Norris hell.
@BrotherJR76 Very true! Two good examples of guys shot in their mid 20s were Wilfredo Benitez and Meldrick Taylor. The Curry who tore McCrory apart I think would have knocked Norris out and I'm a big Norris fan.
Respect to Big George Foreman and all that he has accomplished but for the life of me I just can't figure out what he's saying or what logic he's using. Very confusing analyst to say the least.
i do feel that norris was a great fighter but, as far as him beating curry and sugar both were either on the downside of thier careers or past thier prime, great vids though

@BrotherJR76 yeah, kinda like Simon Brown, had a hard time making 47 but lacked the power to dominate at 54.

How can you say Donald Curry was past his prime or on the way down, he was 29 here, in his Prime, he got beat by a better guy at the time, that's it.
