  • There are no jobs in California anyway, so what's the point. Everyone I know has B.A.'s, Masters, JD's and multiple degrees. There simply is no market or demand for education here. These kids think that education is going to get them a job? This is a state were pornstars, sanitation workers, correctional officers, hookers and meth dealers make more money than most Doctors and Lawyers. Education is nothing but dept., lies and false promises. Keep your job at Micky D's and be happy.

  • Why do so many people think that they need that level of education anyway? The jobs don't exist to go to afterwards and they are being slashed as we speak.

The biggest issue seems to be the loan program, easy money leads to higher prices. It is a basic economic law.

  • The average salary for professors within the University of California system is about $120,000 per "year"

...if one wants to call two semesters of work surrounded by 22 weeks of vacation a "year"

I am all for employees receiving EXACTLY what they are worth and not a penny more, but the government run public school & university system has cause wages for these part-time workers (be honest that is what they are) to grow, unchecked by the free market system, to a preposterous excess.

  • Perhaps the French system would be better. If you don't pass the baccaleureat after high school (you can repeat your last year and try once more) you can't get into college at all. Half fail in the first year at university here. The costs are low, however, and scholarships tend to be generous. You just have to be "college material" to get in. Most of my students last year were from other countries, such as China, and were really outstanding. You don't need a lot of money.

  • @slobomotion The way it should be.

  • @jimbobubbadj I had a Wall Street boss named Henry Cabot Lodge, III. He'd gone to Harvard. I saw the transcipts with his grades. Pretty much got Ds in everything. I teased him about this and he just shrugged and said, "Makes no difference. I'm a Lodge!" Cushy "investment banker" job. I continue to be amazed by people who have college degrees yet cannot even write a coherent sentence. I guess I'm just a cranky ol' dinosaur!

  • @slobomotion Their day is coming. When society is forced to slow down and deindustrialize back to a certain level due to energy constraints, their cushy Wall St job will be irrelevant. They will have to work the fields just like the rest of us in the coming years.

  • @jimbobubbadj What Mr Lodge and his ilk did not know is that I am Aryan, pure, a vizier princess. I am half Amish type so I am glad to work the fields! We viziers are not typical, we are very hands on. xo

  • @slobomotion My father used to be a farmer. I had better learn more from him while I can.

  • @jimbobubbadj My late Pennsy Dutch father came from a long line of farmers. Any chance you can get to learn ANYTHING from older people, go for it. Even if they just talk to you about their life experiences, but if there is anything hands on they can show you or tell you, be a sponge! The school of life!

  • They need those poor teachers to get raises, pensions and free health care.

  • Obviously Mr Grooveline needs a college education. 1 year != 1 semester. A year has 2 semesters. Plus the increase is over 4 years, an average of 16% a year. Another misleading video by a fear monger. What is the problem? you and your gold panning buddy need more material for a circle jerk?

  • @jedistar another punk ass faggot troll.

  • Forget college, stay home and listen to Right-wing radio.

  • You don't need college ( I got a GED, and now have a Masters), but I am in a field where I had to have a college degree.. You don't NEED to go to college! Most just go to continue thei adolescence!!! Besides, California SUCKS!! Why does any sane person live there!? the weather ain't worth it!!

  • @savgal1211 New York ain't far behind.

  • LOL Obama's targetted voters

  • shit, I didn't have college degree. work full time after high school and now i own two cars and my parent living with me cus they have no job. My friends who go to UC now owe atless $4000 each year, if they raise it to 22k my friends will eat shit after college whil i'm buying my first home maybe.

  • School's business model is just like the government's; coerce & steal the money from people & have zeero accountability because why should it matter? All the admins & teachers get paid no matter how sloppy their work is because it's NOT FREE MARKET.

  • Amazing, $22k per semester! What is happening to America?

  • athens time?

  • This is what happens when government touches something. Everything they touch they destroy. What the fuck does a school have to do with goals? This is been one of the biggest brainwashing scams this century. The damn walls do do shit, the grass don't do shit. Its you, the books, the experience that gets things done. Why did we ventured away from apprenticeship.

  • @Anothercoilgun true - I see alot of grads who lack even the most basic practical skills - lots of little wannabe interior decorators and art history hipsters running around then they whine about not having a job

  • I say again people. Learn to make your own business and remove yourself from this devil system before it sucks you down with it.

  • its funny that government officials are so infamiliar with history....revolutions always begin with the students...well atleast the violence does...

  • How much money do greedy state university administraors and teachers need?

  • @order9066 The assclowns running ***community colleges!!!*** make somewhere in the 175-400k region. I read a local story about an El Camino College bureaucrat who was sued for harassing one of his underlings, who was making a yearly salary within that range at the time he was bothering that poor woman, which was years ago. Their salaries have INCREASED since then. We all realize that money was STOLEN from us, right?

  • These are austerity measures!! Designed to expand the youths debt.

  • Maybe the tuition hikes will clear all the bums and illegals of those infested campuses. Too bad----California continually voted Democratic and they spent and spent and spent----on bums, bureaucrats and illegal aliens! Comeuppance is here California!

  • The Government is getting more students into debt, debt that students will not be able to pay off. i think the government will absolve all student debt sometime in out near WW III future, if the student joins the military.

  • Im paying rockstarredondos tuition for her love so someones benefitting in the bad economy. :P

  • Looks like the trendy Obozo supporters are gonna get the big stiffy for their troubles. Good

  • @mookixox

yep. Most UC students are obama supporters. LMAO

  • Constantly I see reporters just brush off a story with their name and station name, can't journalists and reporters show a little more interest than that??

  • @YouViewer08 hey broham. i'ma hit you this weekend.

  • DJ its actually 12,100 currently for the UC system not 9000

  • University of California students could face annual tuition increases of 8% to 16% over the next four years, possibly bringing the fee as high as $22,068 for the 2015-16 school year, according to a long-term budget plan the university unveiled Wednesday.

  • 22,000 you have got to be fucking kidding me. I wouldn't pay 7000 for a CSU education let alone that.

  • DJ you should do a video on your experience with the college kids since you went to summer school with those twats this year.

  • Current tuition/fees at a regular state california university is about 6600 just for 2 semesters. On top of that they jacked up the parking fees to 140 a semester so total for parking fees plus tuition its almost 7 grand. That was fall rates though, they will probably raise it in the spring etc.

Of course this is to pay for "free education" for the other half students. Every tuition hike is to pay for 50 percent who get financial aid. I cant imagine paying 7 grand a year to go to CSU

  • University of Washington raised tuition 22% this year, 14% last year. Youtube "College Conspiracy".
