Hi. Wonderful paintting. Erm I love to paint myself and i was just wondering why you start with a white base colour most of the time? Like on the trees
No. I paint over a dry white. Painting over a white base just means you are allowing light to come through the paint. If I painted green over a yellow background, my green would come out darker and would lean to the yellow hues. Blending has nothing to do with it, but you can paint over a wet white background for an even different effect...it won't come out vivid though...your colors will be creamed out. Hope that makes sense :)
All the youtube videos I've posted I just use water. I have used this stuff called Flow Aid by Liquitex...it helps with detailed work for me by making it a bit more fluid. But usually just the water works for me.

Yes, it's acrylic. And dry white, means dry white paint :)

you get the true color of the paint that way (more vibrant)...sometimes I don't do that though...it depends on what what you want to achieve :)

Does that make it easier to blend?
Thank-you for sharing (:

Ok. I understand and one last thing i would like to ask. Do you use linseed oil or like to water your paints down?

I love how filmographic (okay, not real word, but fits) this is. Your painting style is very rich and appealing.

I love your ideas! Your paintings are adorable! Are you using acrylic with retarder or do you just paint really fast? :>

Just acrylic and water. So yes, when I go to do larger areas like the skies and land, timing is everything :) Thanks for your nice note!
