  • excellent!!! Learned a lot!!!! Thanks!!!!!

  • You don't call your child 'Hope'. You just don't.

  • Amazing video, in another video of yours you reminded me owning feeder chickens and rabbits is useless unless you can feed them without commercial products. There definitely are things to think about. I think the worst thing to worry about will be the millions who don't, they will come for those who did.

  • I love yer Scenario Vids man!! Bravo..Better than t.v. commericials.lol cheers ;-))

  • These videos are good. Go clock 17's! And you, John Travolta.

  • Get a water proof wind up watch or auto matic non water proof is better than nothing try instaling a sun dial or two on you retreat

  • This scares me. I'm off to Walmart to get some supplies . Got my gun and water and food. Now I need some other stuff.

  • another use for the cloth baby diapers is as wemans personals. i know it sounds grose but it works.

  • In Thailand, the traditional method of defecating is to squat over a hole in the ground, (google "squat toilet"). This method makes very little, if any, collateral mess on your cheeks. To clean up, you use a bucket of water to generously splash away any potential remainders and follow up with your left hand. Being a fussy Westerner, I use TP for the follow-up, but it always comes away clean. I have found this to be much more sanitary than TP alone, and uses less or none to get the job done.

  • Ladies... consider purchasing a "Diva Cup" ... I've got two for me plus two for my young daughter to use when she gets older. Check out Ama zon for more info. No need to stockpile tampons/pads unless you want them for bartering.

  • train to become an emt thats the best way to prevent infection or nursing training if you have someone in ur tribe who has these skills, the all you have to worry about is supplies and keeping them sterile

  • haha that was my first "scenario" video, and first i was like wtf?

  • @1046fireman. agreed the things to think about tied the video together and made an excellent summary. well done.

  • Are u for real?

  • Your "things to think about" closing comments is an excellent addition to the video.

  • I thought this video was going to talk about body disposal, and birth infection prevention.

  • @IamaRifle Another scenario video deals with body disposal. Either cremation or burial.

  • @southernprepper1 Thank you.

  • @southernprepper1 hey, love the scenario videos :P just out of curiousity whats the spot behind your ear that looks shaved or is it white?

  • great vid...nice outhouse....

  • Keep em comming man!

  • Good video, good message. thanks

  • TP and B kinda like PB & J! (Toilet Paper and Batteries) the new survival currency.

I don't think most of these scenarios are *likely* but ah crap if they come to pass. If your not out in the boonies setup like a 1875 farmer good luck to you. I love that SP1 is getting people to think about this stuff though, because people really are unprepared even for a likely scenario. If thing really get this bad oh buddy even the boonies are gonna be bad.

  • Toilet Paper: The new currency. Think about it...

  • Ha! If we gave our wives the, "Woo, hallelujah! Thank goodness you're not pregnant!" bit during non-SHTF time we'd be in the doghouse for sure. They DO NOT like to hear that response to the good news.

In really bad times, though, I bet they'd be saying the very same thing themselves. WROL / SHTF will change our perspectives on many, many life and death issues.

  • One of the best prepper intellectual sources on the net, right here folks. He's one of the rare, truly honest guys who just want to help people learn to OBSERVE, THINK and PREPARE.

A heartfelt "Thanks" to you, southernprepper1.

  • Very good video. I believe in 'Relationship Building' preps...best way to make friends and forge alliances. In my opinion, relationships will help you survive a SHTF situation more than any other prep.

  • For the outhouse in winter: When my mom was a girl they'd take a couple sheets of newspaper and lay them flat on the (only warm) wood cookstove. When they got warm they'd fold them in quarters and tear a off the corner to make a hole in the middle. Then they'd tuck that under their coat and dash out to the outhouse and lay the newspaper down on the seat and plop down on that. She said it made sitting on the cold seat a lot more comfortable. :)

  • Your the freaking man! You keep fellow preppers thinking about different issues. God bless you homie!

  • Ladies products will be worth more than the ladies themselves if tshtf.

  • Great video! Thought about the toliet paper and womens products but I don't have a watch! Guess I never thought about it. Well one more thing to buy I guess..lol

  • Always love the scenarios. I'm just getting started prepping (way late). Thanks for making me think.

  • Just remembered something else about outhouses. At my grandparents in the midwest we kept a makeshift feather duster, fashioned from some old chicken feathers tied to a stick. Before you sat down you grabbed that and swept it thru and around the edge of the hole to clear it of cobwebs and black widow spiders.

And in colder climates you might want to fashion a toilet seat out of rigid styrofoam. Makes for a nice, warm seat, much better than wooden, plastic or porcelain.

  • Thanks SP, you are truly doing a service for your fellow man. God bless.

  • Great Video SouthernPrepper1, really got me thinking about some things I have never considered before.

  • I think we'll be like old time pioneers and mountain men and just scoot along the ground like dogs with worms.

  • Looks like you're getting more rest SP1. The dark circles under your eyes don't seem as pronounced. Take care of yourself, brother!

  • "Twigs & Leaves co" now makes toilet paper with 20% less thorns.

  • VERY informative and motivating!! Wow what a HOOT--it's really funny while at the same time it's not a laughing matter--it's VERY serious. SKILLS are going to be so important as well. May we all keep learning and storing. Great Work!!

  • Problem with automatics and manual winds are that they need sorting by highly trained watchsmiths. I'd personally stock up on lithium batteries for a good digital and if those run out odds are situation's so bad that noone else thinks about much more than "morning-noon-evening" anyways. Dried moss in a linen bag works great for sanitary pads and diapers. It absorbs well and it's antiseptic. Can even stretch into a dressing if needs be.

  • @903lew I have had my manual-wind Seiko wristwatch since 1977. Its been in the shop to be cleaned about three times since I bought it. Probably should take it in more often. I guess the newer ones are more picky?

I also have a nice old schoolhouse 30 day keywind clock, very reliable.

My grandma had a stash of old cloth diapers. They were used for everything, cleaning cloth, strainers for berry juice, dish towels, fly-proof game wrap, sanitary pads.

    Also remember cloth handkerchiefs.

  • @hunt1803 I guess like all things it depends on the quality of the maker and the individual watch itself. That being said manual winders will be less prone to failure than automatics (there's no disc spinning round all the bloody time overstressing the overturning disconnect). I'd recommend taking any mechanical watch to the shop about every five years, if nothing else to give it a lube and a once over. Think of the watch as your car, how often does that get serviced?

  • nnnnooooo more things to remember ;-]

  • ive gotten away from a watch and keeping track of time now-a-days. unless im in school i dont really need to anymore. i have two months of toilet paper for wife and i stored pluss what ever is left of the everyday use stuff when SHTF. we have one month worth of girls needs. will be getting more now that you reminded me. dont forget soap. i have about four spare batteries for my weather watch that tells time and the weather with all kinds of meters on it. that i want for sure it really works well

  • I love your videos, you are so entertaining. I always learn something. Thank you also for encouraging people to help others. Building community is what will save us.

  • petition? WROL, and your doing partitions?

  • One of your best. Funny how this little short bid says so much.

  • SouthernPrepper you need you own show man really. You give good info!

  • academy award winner :)

  • Missed the scenario video's and thanks for making a new one. Hope you make more and mix them in with your other videos.

  • I'm liking the scenario. I'm starting to prep hard over here in the UK, you bring up some good points. Thanks

  • You didn't even try to trade those diapers to your neighbors either? I would of tried to get something from them for um

  • You bring up a good point with your watch dying. Spend some money and buy one with a nice perpetual motion in it. Its what alot of higher end watches use, like Rolex. Not everyone can afford one of those, but I also have a Citizen that runs with no batteries at all. It's called eco-drive.

  • The first things i started stocking up on where feminane products, because if the wife aint happen nobody is happy..LOL Besides you can always use some of them as pressure bandages if you know what i mean.

  • I love your scenario video's, mom said they use to use corn cobs, sounds painfull

  • how about babyoil two.

  • I have something to tell time with. It is called the Sun, lol. Anyway, there are a few items I know from when I used to be very poor (we are well off now) that work well for toilet paper replacement. Corn cobs work well, oddly enough, paper that is not gloss if worked with a bit, And larger plant leaves (make sure you stay clear of poison oak, ouch.

  • Only thing worse than running out of TP in the outhouse is knowing a snake is sitting in there with you.

  • @goosearrow There is always a snake in the bathroom when I go...

  • That's some good acting... well, then again you do look a lot like John Travolta... Thanks for the vid.

  • Southernprepper1, I'm glad you've continued with the story line. Patriotnurse put up a video on feminine hygeine back in March.....BUGOUT and SHTF Feminine Hygiene is the name. I was unable to post the link in the comments section. It certainly was very informative and makes you think abit. Just like your videos.... :)

  • Should have wiped out the BGs in the beginning. Of course that is wishful thinking.

A petition is only useful if everybody who signs it is willing to back it up with blood and lead.

The main difference between a illegal gang and the government is that we accept the government stealing our hard earned goods. If you give the BGs anything, they will turn around and use it against you to get more stuff from you. Paying them will also legitimize them.

  • AWESOME as always!

  • always somthing to think about. thanks

  • Good one! Reminds me of my Granny's out house with the Sears Catalog in it. LOL. (It was printed on newsprint) You met my wife, we were going to buy the material and she's going to sew some cloth diapers. She's a seamstress. Those bikers must be riding sports bikes. The bikers I know would be the type to hunt down those that shot the farmers and the new Gov. we don't pay much attention to the one we got now.

  • ATTENTION LADY PREPPERS: Look up menstrual cups. I bought two for twenty dollars each. I bought the medical grade silicon moon cup brand. They are guaranteed to last for at least 10 years each... Hope this helps

  • good thought. all my watches have "hands", but all are battery operated. can you even buy a wind up watch any more, or have they become pricey fashion items?

  • @jwgbmp40 You can try amazon.com. There are some cheapo $30 that work well and some $140 top of the line.

  • lol When I was in Cuba, most of the time we used the news paper. Whenever we had toilet paper, it was like "party time" The bad thing about the new paper is the ink lol. We had no phone book or any other magazine in Cuba. It was only the new paper or paper bags from the store lol. Its Great to have toilet paper. GOD Bless America.

  • Nice job, SouthernPrepper1. Time to get an Automatic, Eco-Drive, Kinetic, or Spring Drive watch. I hear the Automatics are even resistant to EMP's.

    Take care Londian.

  • Casio G-shock is solar powered,

  • You did not wash your hands. lol

  • Bro...everything you say is very educational and practical....you are a good human being... God bless you!

  • When I was a kid they used the Sears Roebuck catalog in the outhouse. It was the size of the phone books today, and was made from a nice, soft newsprint at the time.

And I love my Seiko wind-up wrist watch, it has big numbers that I can read, and a second hand, too. Have had it since 1977. Its not a fancy one that tells the day or date, just a simple watch. I'll bet there are still some nice windups at watch repair shops.

  • I think these scenario vids are brilliant!!

  • Most people will not even make it to this stage!

  • love the role playing bro

  • We kept a sear's catalog in the outhouse. Do they still print a sear's catalog? There was also a few corn cobs (dark coarse horse corn cobs and fine "checker" white corn cobs) with instructions. Everybody always opted for the tp.

  • what sidearm you carrying?

  • @BigBusch7 glock 17

  • @southernprepper1 excellent choice

  • I really like when you do the scenario video's. It makes it seem so much more real. It makes you think about any holes you might have in your prep's. Great job.

  • Any "gang" claiming to be the new goverment I'm sure will be shot down quick, as it should be. No one is gonna put up with moochers Tax. I bet the gang problem will be really bad right after a WROL situation

  • you do realize that a 10% 'tax' is only the beginning of their demands..... better take care of business now while you can.

  • My girlfriend bought one of those "Diva Cups". It's a silicone cup that catches menstrual blood. It's reusable and as long as it's cleaned, pretty much infinite.

Not a bad idea for the ladies to think of.

  • i have a mechanical pocket watch from the late 1800's still works fine also a collection of newer ones. if i would see that you guys might have an advantage over the new local gov and there thugs you guys have all the food and you guys know the land just pick the bikers off if you guys have any strong wire across the roads and such . love the vids btw

  • When in short supply you can take a sheet of TP and put it over a sheet of newspaper. Having a big stack of old newspapers might come in handy too. It's great for gardening as well.

  • man thats sad when you get used for toilet paper.

    Good job Bro.

  • very smart idea. nice food for thought

  • I see you are carrying in the crapper. Good idea. But where do you put it when you have to go "poopy" ( I have young children)? Been carrying for 16 years. Always wanted to have a safe place to store my handgun while going (my outer belt has to come off anyway because of weight). Anyway, consider building a shelf or something designed to secure a handgun while allowing quick/fast access. You just never know when you'ill have to defend yourself with your pants down.

    BTW, form your own gov't.

  • You forgot to wash your hands!

  • Love these scenario vids!! Brings it to home! Keep 'em coming.

  • The door on the outhouse should open inward so on a hot day, you can leave it cracked open. If it opens outward, a wind may catch it and there you are, caught in the view of everyone!

  • Glad I found this video!

    I subbed

    Pete

  • Keep up the good work

  • I am an avid viewer of your channel, keep up the wonderful work. Especially the scenario vids!!! Very informative.

  • Love the scenarios!!!!!! Stimulates one to think!

  • great points as always thanks and these videos really help me with overlooked preps

  • how 'bout a trained sniper to help the farmers ??

  • Keep running with the scenario. Great job! Things that make you say hhmmmm. Great job!

  • guys out there looking out for ur ladies, and daughters, you can get moon-cups for about $30...to clean all you have to do is boil them

  • Sir you have talked about everything we have done. I raised all 4 children on nothing but cloth diapers and still have some left in storage. I washed them in the creek by hand as they messed them.At one time in our life we had a subscription to the news paper just so we didn't run out of anything to wipe with. You are doing a good thing teaching others how to prepare. Keep up the good work....Misty

  • Great job David. Glad you have begun making scenario videos ... nothing like them on YouTube!

    Keep'em coming!

  • Great job David. Glad you have begun making scenario videos ... nothing like them on YouTube!

    Keep'em coming!

  • I love your phone book recycling program. I am buying a windup watch tomorrow. Do they still make them.?

  • Great video very helpful!

  • I love these video's they make me think about what else have I forgotten! Blessings

  • Woman to woman: Diva cups, check them out.

  • I really enjoy your story telling! Always thought provoking. We have toilet paper well covered and I still continue to purchase in bulk. Some things you just can't do without.

  • Comment removed

  • Great job on this video SP1. Keep up the awesome work!

  • Oh, man.. yes! Baby stuff, for SURE. Not just dipes, wipes, & ointment! But also the types of items that would go in a birthing kit. We LOVE the scenarios, hon. Thank you!!

  • rather than storing a million rolls of TP and it taking up too much space, I bought kleenex which is the same thing and you can store it flat (if you take it out of the box) and there you have it. Soft too for us girls. It's the little things.

  • @clarissamck Be careful of how you are using tissues, and that includes TP. Some are biodegradable, some aren't. And some break down quickly, while some take years to. Think of how you are disposing of your waste. Septic tank? Outhouse? Hole in the ground? In a SHTF scenario good luck finding septic guys to come and clear your system. Or dig your hole for a new location for the outhouse.

  • Things we all take for grantide.

  • Also, in regards to TP... Ron Hood suggests using a handkerchief on his treks in place of TP, since its reusable and it doesn't litter up nature. The issue with that of course is cleaning the HKs, for that you just let them hang and dry, which you can basically flake the nastys, then scrub and wash them. Then again the same routine will be used to clean diapers, or whatever you set up for feminine items.

  • Nice things to think about video, the list can be large when you actually think about it, then you need to think about need;s and want;s and plan. Take care and thanks.

  • white cotton shop towels.. cheap, and very multifunction. :) Thanks for continuing the scenario!!

  • "Seven Samurai" comes to mind... defend your goods or you won't make it for very long, especially during the winter when you have to rely on stored and canned food. I definitely wouldn't want to deal with this falsely appointed mayor in his turf, so I'd be extremely careful with communicating with him. Set up a meeting in a neutral area, preferably where YOU have the advantage with sniping and defensive positions. Hopefully you won't have to hire outside help (samurai) to defend the community.

  • Get your lawyers, Smith and Wesson, to sent some artfully phrased messages to the self-appointed "government."

  • You have to neutralize this Mayor and his motorcycle gang now while you still can. If you don't nip it in the bud, they will slowly gain more economic power and clot and more power over the people. Eventually these people will evolve into a total dictatorship, and they will take 50 % of your goods in time. This scenario has played out over and over throughout history. You have to nip this problem in the bud while they are still some what unorganized.

  • @johnny102marvin I can't help but laugh as I read you rpost because it sounds just like what happening here! No offense to you just funny to see the correlation! :-)

  • Now that I understand the involvement of the motorcycle gang in this "local government", I have changed my mind on dealing with them. If you go to negotiate, you will be demonstrating your opposition and will be a prime target for murder - "to show people who's boss". If you let them be and go along with their plan to get something for nothing, it will get progressively worse - over time when they will get to know your vulnerabilities. Combine with trusted neighbours - killing them if necessary.

  • This is the BEST prepper channel on YouTube. Keep up the good and very entertaining work. You should get an academy award!!!

  • Yep, we love the scenarios vids. Getcha an automatic watch. Seiko "5" are cheap with the day/date.

  • As for time how about wind watches and clocks. As for T/P well I guess when it comes down to it you can wipe with about anything you don't mind throwing away. I wonder what primatave people use for T/P and ladies needs. I'm just thinking say for a family of 4 how much T/P would one need to last a couple of years. A bunch for sure and when thats gone then what. I just don't think you can always depend on stocking stuff up to get you throu.

  • Shut the door, it stinks! Haha. Maybe a poison ivy plant in the corner would have outed the culprits! Love the scenarios as it gets me/us thinking about things in a different way.

  • ur bottom gets itchy and black cause of the ink, but it dose the trick

  • u have my brain going now..how many peopel will have an old treadle sewing machine.. to make diapers?? my son is 39..pampers were just coming out.. I don't think I ever used more than a dozen on him..my mother made him 4 doz..and I got 2 doz at his baby shower..I know its a scenario vid..but as you say, something to think about, thanks!

  • necessity is the mother of invention..there's a video on here.."how to make toilet paper" it was originally a discovery channel thing..people make wiritng paper, toilet paper is mostly made from recycled newspaper..if one guy can invent it.. why can't somebody make it at home??? also.. that's gonna be a barter item, but phone books, catalogs, newspaper.. whatever works :)

  • hey bro great vids, one tip on maxi pad that you probably already know .they make great bandages.soak up 4to8 times their weight inblood.god bless god speed

  • Does anybody else love squatting?

  • wise words,..don't forget the "Rolled Gold" LOL! everything comes to a screeching halt when theres no TP in the house. lol!

  • My but still hurts just thinking about that phone book I bet you can guess what I'm doin right now ;) this is a great series keep it up. Can't wait till the next episode

  • ; )

  • Where there any pages left in the lawyer section?

  • There will be many things that will be overlooked.Excellent video and topics

  • this is for the ladies, wrol stuff>>>watch?v=-ElAkrqGofI

  • @stealinator - You wrote: "this is for the ladies, wrol stuff>>>watch?v=-ElAkrqGofI" Excellent advice! Patriot Nurse's video is, as usual, strong on substance and she does not pussy-foot around. Men who have any women in their group should watch it too, as men can't just duck-shove responsibility for these matters onto their women. Every time a man goes bargain hunting, to a flea market or barter meeting, he needs to know what his women want and what will suffice as a second or third best.

  • @Myrmecia agreed, being that I have a wife and two daughters, guess Im a few steps ahead of the pack :)

  • nice video keep it up

  • good video, really like the scenarios.keep up the good work

  • Gramps always used the sears catalog. He said it was better then leaves. LOL

  • good book on childbirth is Spiritual Midwifery

A&D ointment good to stock for diaper rash

pick up free phone books outside most grocery stores

  • Oh, and heres the message to send to that motorcycle gang: NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!

  • Dont ferget ta spit on it a little! HA! I like ol sponges better! That way ya can clean em easier! GOD BLESS!

  • As for that motorcycle game - looks like feudalism has come to America - tiny factions springing up, jockying for power... And I've heard that if you do your "businesss" the Japanese way, squat, rather than sit down, less cleanup is required....

  • Been there done that... survived. Check.

All what you said is true and that is just a tip of an iceberg...

  • @100proof4life I've had a Casio G-Shock watch for like 6 years now. Best watch I've ever had! Besides being solar powered they reset their time every night by satellites. Very worth the money you spend on one.

  • TP is very important, and if you are in the woods Leaf identification is VERY IMPORTANT from personal experience as an 8 year old in the case of mybutt v. poison ivy leaves, mybutt got its butt handed to it, VERY unpleasant experience

  • its like john wayne toilet paper . rough and tough an dont take crap off no one

  • @jeeperscreepers71 lol nice

  • cutting squares out of your boxers when your back in the woods hunting works good to.

    :)

  • coons like asses

  • You should be an Actor :P

  • Shoulda got a wind up watch!

  • kill the biker gang, hunt them down, then kill the people who r saying they r the government

  • You really did give me something to think about. I'm single and unmarried without kids, but stocking up on a few cloth diapers here, and few there would save me from pulling my hair out further down the road. Same with the ladies products (which I've already started stocking up on, along with the reusable kinds.) Your vids are always so informative and interesting to watch. They really keep me motivated. Thanks for everything you do!

  • Motorcycle gang........LMMFAO

nice stereotype of bikers there. hell I would fell safer with a Motorcycle CLUB on the streets as cops than any of the slack jaws wearing a badge right now. Could you not cut towels or other linen into diapers?

    ..Just a thought

  • @OutlawShooters He said motorcycle GANG, not a biker club, or even bikers in general. Who exactly is he stereotyping? Also, other linens, even towels wouldn't be as absorbent as the material used for cloth diapers. Trust me. You'd have to use layers and layers, which would be hard to keep on an active toddler. They'd also be more abrasive to the skin which would lead to rashes.

  • @OutlawShooters Just like not all bikers are motorcycle riding scum , not all cops are " slack jaws ". Think about it a bit. You didnt like being put in a bracket and classified. If you are a good guy I will come to your aid any day biker or not and affiliated or not. I was a cop for 19 years and I didnt get the job or advance by being a pansy.

  • I kinda feel like it's a WROL situation when I get interrupted in "The Library" as well! 8^{)>

  • now i see who is the brains behind the operation.......your wife !! clearly she is the smart one...... hahaha Great job buddy !!! if you bought tactical toilet paper you would not have run out !!!

  • @eastcoastpatriot lol @ tactical toilet paper ... il make sure i stock that next to the tactical bacon :)

  • i had to do that at my house with computer paper...about a year ago...didnt have any Tp for a good week lol

  • I know its expensive but a Citizen Eco Drive watch doesnt use battries and all you gotta do is make sure the date is correct...it uses the motion of your hand to charge itself kinda like those shake flashlights but better....best watch ever

  • Great video SP.... Keep them coming.... It's so true how many basic things we forget about when stocking up for a WROL situation...

  • I always wanted to know......WHY do they put a crescent moon on the doors of out houses???

  • @MissPickletoes

because if they put a whole moon you could see inside...

  • @wootfortoot hahahaha!
