they do the same thing in Peru... except that they tend to start telling a story about their own lives (like really sad experiences) and then they sell stuff.... people are used to it so they just ignore them but that's mean!!
In Philadelphia PA, USA, where Septa rules, this isn't at all weird to see. There would people coming on the train to sell bootleg movies, or candy to make cash. Sometimes, there would be the Muslim sellers, selling perfumes, African soaps or lotions and such. This is my first time seeing on the train in Korea.
lmfao this guy was there on the subway handing out papers that said his mother was sick and he randomly wiped his eye like he was crying it was so fake, i actually laughed...then people looked at me funny...
im half mexican and half white but i lived in mexico for a couple of years and there are many ppl that sell stuff on the trains and on the busses cuz it's 3rd world country but i would have never imagined that korea would have that :P
anyways ahaha i think this is funny cuz i probably would have asume that the guy was saying some random stuff :P since i don't understand.
@wemilove i was trying to concentrate on what the man was saying but then that guy got up and left and he looked soooo hot!!! and from them onwards i couldn't concentarte -.- lol
@vstephaniew , i assume you never even been to subway in Korea before. Subway system in korea is HUGE thus making it basically underground city where people just flood in everyday. Therefore, rather than selling on street where there is no chance of selling things, actually being in contained area with people make it highly more likely to sell things. There are more people than on streets, and you can actually "convince" people to buy it. Strategical. Philippine should try it.
@hchoi31 That's how it is when I watch those fake Hitler subtitle videos... I'm half German and speak it almost fluently, so...it's distracting when I can understand what he's saying. XD
@Dkbiggs81 Like asuna said, you seriously need to chill. It looked like he was wearing a mic too, so most likely he was working with a company who would pay him whether or not he sells much. So once again, CHILL and enjoy the fail subtitles.
That's really great! If someone ACTUALLY gave that speech on a subway to me I'd be very entertained. I don't know if I'd buy though. But that's a great speech. It has personality!
Hahah this is awesome. I don't know much Korean or my own native language of Bisaya but I'd have to say your interpretations sound about right and lol at the RPG gaming reference 200 hit points per kick Critical hit every time!!!
hey i got to ask you a question why does korean grils like so much americans i dont get it i when to korean and i got like 50 letters saying meet after school i had to move to florida again beacuse there were to many grils tha like me tha very anoying
i have a question, in korea does making sounds while being on a subway like phonecalls, talking and laughing with someone, listening to music a bit loudly (with headphones but still the sound can be heard by others), are like being disrispecful to other people? is this seen as something impolite?
@ihatefakersandposers some ppl still do it, and you get stared at (I mean literally get stared at) but korea's not as strict as japan. ppl know that it's not allowed and it causes disturbances but there are some young ppl who do it. and also, koreans are pretty lenient towards little (baby-12 yr old) children and are not so strict towards them especially if they aren't their own children. long things short, yes it's considered impolite
But i reeally do feel bad for people who do that :S
When I went to korea, this guy was trying to get money. Like he wasn't selling anything. he said that he needed to pay for his wife's hospital bills but... thats just a lie. -___-''
I love these guys on the subway and sometime buy their stuff. Hey, it's free entertainment and I feel pampered. Better than some d))d staring at me suspiciously.

They do this all the time in restaurants here, except they pretend their blind/deaf (which is easily proven wrong when flashing money/saying you'll buy something) and sell McDonalds-esque toys. Last time I got a pair of miniature converse keychains for about 5pesos (50 cents)... Hehe I love them!
dont make fun of them rather be sorry for them. they're working their ass off regardless of how ppl make fun of them, or having talk behind them, in order to pay off their children's freagin tuition fees 4 hakwons and the uni thats been going up for forever
@xXDavitchiXx are you korean? korean is very hard to learn in terms of listening and speaking. Even after 6 years, Idadoshi (if you're korean you'll know this French lady) still has an accent and her korean speaking isn't that good. You should recognize that korean is not that easy to learn, and not everyone in their lifetime succeeds in listening and speaking korean perfectly
the way i wrote it came out wrong. My comment is asking them if they're teaching themselves korean as they live in korea tutoring. I get why you got angry at me, but did I say anything about accents and perfect korean. I respect foreigners who speak korean, but did I say even though they're speaking a little korean, that it wasn't perfect and they should try harder. Good job wasting time on replying to my comment. And I don't even think you aknowledged the 2nd sentence i wrote.
when I was a kid, I used to make a fun of these people. Now, I am a adult, I don't make a fun of them anymore. They are just trying to survive in this world. Simon, I know you just trying to make a fun video, but it is simply not funny if you make a joke about someone's job. Please don't tell me "Relax, it is just a joke", unless you are a little kid, you should know there is something you can not joke about.
@wing0410 while I see what you're trying to say, what's done is done. These people have the right to attempt to sell things, and while it may seem immoral to make a (in this case) virtually harmless joke, free speech. I hope you don't intend to walk up to everyone and tell them they can't make a harmless joke, you're only making yourself look stuck up. It be different if Simon said "boy, this man sure is stupid, trying to make a quick buck on the subway". he didn't insult the man but the item.
last time i went this guy was selling this sleeve for water bottles that would keep it cold. No one was buying, then we decided to buy one. After we broke the ice like 4 more people bought one. That guy owes us 10%! haha Anyways that product is pretty good, we still use it
HAHA! That's hilarious! I love the baby-sized one. On my Seoul trip, there was this guy who I presume was selling CD's on the subway. I didn't think much of it but man, he was playing all this depressing music, standing there with his trolley with this blank-almost pitiful expression on his face. It almost made me want to buy it from him.
@tokyosanmachan I think he has no choice but selling that stuff. That's his job. And you, a Japanese, i think you have no proper job yet but leaving a bad comment on videos about Korea. He is much economic, isn't he? I do not hate Japan but I do hate Japanese like You.
LOL when i went to korea, there was a guy like this on the subway selling stuff for foot pads. my dad bought one and the guy was like... YOU HANDSOME MAN. YOU BERRRYYY HANDSOME XDDDD
i felt sad watching this, i just wish that he gets his quota in selling those stuff, it makes me feel bad coz no one is even watching him except 4 the 1 hu's taking the video, i didn't know that life is also that hard in korea. Im living in the Philippines & even tho it's a 3rd world country i haven't seen someone selling inside the train like that, no 1 is even selling stuff inside the train, i think that's harder than selling on the streets. I hope he earns enough with it.
@vstephaniew I live in Mexico and it's really rare if you don't see someone selling stuff inside the subway, there are at least two people in every cart, korean subway is looking pretty good compared to Mexico's, the guy even has a microphone, here they pretty much yell so that they can be heard, yeah and it's pretty sad because the people are so used to them so they don't even look at them either, sometimes they do sell alot but most of the time they are ignored, it's sad but life's hard.
@vstephaniew it's actually easier than selling in the streets, but Korea is a capitalist country. I even heard that in philipines, the gap between the rich and the poor are big. in Korea it's slightly greater, but they're very creative and smart in what they're doing. by using the subways it's cheap, you get around and cover more ground during the day, there are a lot more people going in and out than on the streets, so you can sell more that way. it's a different perspective
@vstephaniew Don't worry, I live in New York and I see people that don't sell things on the train...they litterally ask for money...I feel really sad because I would give them money, but I don't carry. One day I did, and there were these guys that were singing to raise money...I just had to give them money because they were really good!!!
OMO! Last week, I was in another train and an ahjumma was selling some drain cleaner tool. At the next stopped station, the security people came in and requested her to leave the train and fined her! Thanks for your upload! Love your videos!

I do not hate Japan but I do hate Japanese like You.

i felt sad watching this, i just wish that he gets his quota in selling those stuff, it makes me feel bad coz no one is even watching him except 4 the 1 hu's taking the video, i didn't know that life is also that hard in korea. Im living in the Philippines & even tho it's a 3rd world country i haven't seen someone selling inside the train like that, no 1 is even selling stuff inside the train, i think that's harder than selling on the streets. I hope he earns enough with it.

@vstephaniew I live in Mexico and it's really rare if you don't see someone selling stuff inside the subway, there are at least two people in every cart, korean subway is looking pretty good compared to Mexico's, the guy even has a microphone, here they pretty much yell so that they can be heard, yeah and it's pretty sad because the people are so used to them so they don't even look at them either, sometimes they do sell alot but most of the time they are ignored, it's sad but life's hard.
ruthhd255XD 1 year ago
@vstephaniew it's actually easier than selling in the streets, but Korea is a capitalist country. I even heard that in philipines, the gap between the rich and the poor are big. in Korea it's slightly greater, but they're very creative and smart in what they're doing. by using the subways it's cheap, you get around and cover more ground during the day, there are a lot more people going in and out than on the streets, so you can sell more that way. it's a different perspective

@vstephaniew well, now that simon and martina gave him publicity, lets all hope that he's now known. and im serious about that.
