Great footage, thanks for sharing. I am an alumni cheerleader back from the good old all male squad days and it was particularly interesting to see the shoots of the old squad. I am going to send this to a few of the other alumni and see if we can get the guys that are on this film to know about it. Thanks again for posting it.
Bump Elliott coached Michigan back then. He was the coach of Michigan right before Bo. He went a paltry 3-7 against OSU and resigned right after the infamous 1968 game against the Buckeyes where they lost 50-14. The game was remembered for Woody Hayes response on why he went for two when he was up by 34. Hayes said, "Because I couldn't go for three!".

This was the Ohio State-Michigan game, which Michigan won that year. But with the beginning of the 60's OSU owned Michigan thru that decade and into the 70's. Under Tressell the Buckeyes have OWNED Michigan once more, currently riding a 4 game win streak against the Wolverines, and have lost only in 2000 and 2003. UM better hope that the Pryor kid (QB) doesn't go to Ohio State like every one thinks he is. If so, it'll be a long time until Michigan wins again.
Ah but Tressel has owned Michigan thus far... and this first year under Rich Rod will be interesting since there seem to be problems with the offensive line, especially at right guard. And remember Pryor chose OSU, too.
Sorry, hit the post button early... there's no rivalry (or respect for one another) better than Ohio State-Michigan. Those of us who are fans have known it all along, and the rest of the country is finally figuring it out as well. Have a great season... and no matter what, be sure to beat Notre Dame!
We (U of M) certainly have an uncertain season. I have worries about our new coach, and so many changes, can only hope for the best. No matter what it will be fun and we'll just have to win the tailgate. The rivalry of UM and OSU is the best and so steeped in tradition. I was being honest when I said good luck this year, I hope you lose but still, good luck. And we'll do our best against ND.
Thank you for submitting this amazing home camera of a vintage Michigian football game .... You are a true Michigan fan! I will cherrish this image forever! GO BLUE!
