@VaultMasterDBT found and saw for the first time the 'Smouldering Lust' opening - never knew it existed..i can tell the vocal arrangement is a little different, and just as good as 'the original'..this show had a potential that it never attained..for me, the best part turned out to the this opening theme.....
Yeah, NBC really kicked Jay Tarses around with this project, first delaying its premiere by almost a year after 13 or so episodes were reportedly made. In the midst of the delay, the network forced Tarses to change the title (which resulted in the theme being stripped of its lyrics, and such). In the end, NBC premiered the show during the little-viewed Memorial Day weekend (of '93), only to have it stay in a no-nothing Saturday 10:30 p.m. time slot. They gave it the axe after only six episodes.
You'll love the opening even better in version that aired overseas, under the series' originally proposed title, 'Smoldering Lust'.

Oh, and after Smoldering Lust/Black Tie Affair, Jay Tarses vowed never to work with NBC ever again..a promise he's continued to make good on.
