This happens to be my car as I arrived at Katie's in Great Falls Virginia early Saturday morning as do many beautiful and unusual cars throughout the year. In fact the car is an excellent monocoque chassis # 5101 and is a 1600 GT Kent 711 block and not an 1800! 1450# and 140 bhp with some modifications to the front brakes (HiSpec Bespec), T9 5 speed w/2.83 1st, forged pistons, BCF3 Cam, ported & polished large intake, pertronic, twin 40 DCOE, stainless 4-1 headers, B17 Daytona Blue Metallic
It's a wooden chassis Marcos all right, but around 1965 the Marcos company went from using a Volvo 1800 engine to using a British Ford 1600 one, which this car has, from the look of the rocker cover. It says Cosworth, which means it probably is a Cosworth-tuned Ford 1600. These particular rear lamps also came after the introductin of the Ford engine. Earlier cars had 3 separate round lenses each side. Anyway with less than 110 cm total height and around 700 kg it handles very well.
Yeah, Marcos are British, make small numbers of sports cars. Extremely rare outside the UK, but still pretty rare in the England. I have seen about 6 but only at shows.

Wooden chassis........made of marine plywood. Engine from the Volvo P1800. Very light and handles well.
