this is a vinyl wrap. the wrap itself will not harm the paint. in fact it will protect it, for most part (from fading, not from dents and scratching deep enough to go through wrap) wraps are low tac so very little if any residue is left when removed, and what little may be left can be removed with rubbing alcohol. cost varies on what you decided to do. single color professionally installed is a couple grand and goes up from there but not much.
