  • @uncchristine99 Yeah. I wish she hadn't faltered in prelims. She could've gotten at least a bronze or silver in EF!

  • Wow, she just dropped out of the sky on that dismount. Just a shame she did not qualify for EF.

  • I think she would have gotten her own individual gold had she not had the slip up in prelims.

  • wowowow

    it was faultless <3

  • I officially nominate Amy to be the most amazing person ever!!!!! And also the gymnast with my all-time favorite bar routine :)

  • If only she didn't slip in the prelims, she would have made it to finals... And then it would have been

    1. Khorkina

    2. Chow

    3. Yang

*sigh* these olympics were so messed up

  • A perfect routine.

  • In my mind she will always be one of the best. She may not be the best all around gymnast but she is an all around person: 4.0 student, doctor, gymnast, diver, pole vaulter...I could go on :)

  • @Stonymypony Oh, and concert pianist!

  • shes amazing did she win any medals at the olympics

  • scarily good dismount..

  • I LUV AMY CHOW!!!! SHES SO CUTE AND SOOO GOOD!!!

  • Amazing stalder work !!!!!

  • I don't understand how come the first Endo she does isn't in the code of points, namely: reverse grip Endo with full pirouette on one arm. Huang Qiushuang just got her move named after her, namely: elgrip Endo with full turn on one arm.

  • @lepetitpoulet Huang's comes from a different grip I would assume, elgrip/eagle grip is with both arms twisted outwards?

  • @ChainChomp2 yes absolutely, but nevermind because FIG just took out the Huang out of the code, it's now considered the same element as a regular eagle grip Endo with 1/1 (E).. same thing probably happened to Chow's skill so that it would be considered the same as a reverse grip Endo with 1/1 (D)

the thing it's a lot harder to perform the full turn on one arm, and it's prettier too but hey, why would FIG allow beauty in our sport...

  • I love Amy!!!!!! Her stalder-work on bars is fantastic!!!!!!!!! I wish more gymnasts did that now because it looks beautiful.

  • wow this was really good!

  • i wish someone would bring :24 back into gymnastics. with that connected to the release, it looked stunning

  • her score was 9.75

  • perfection

  • Amy Chow, an M.D. now? Let me tell many out there... She has done much in her life time with amazing energy! When i watch her videos on the bars swinging, i really get dizzy! I 'd love to swing with her but she 'd leave me in the dust! Still, i'd love to me her! A real Chinese American - she is! Edmondo ( etsonggalaxy)

  • what was her score! amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • @bbhouk1 Just the prelims qualify you to event finals (as well as to AA and the team final). Team finals don't play any part in qualifying.

  • She's just amazing!!! Beautiful work on the high bar!

  • puuuuuuurfect!

  • Man I wish she hadn't made that mistake in team qualification! IMO this routine could have gotten her a bronze medal in event finals. It's extremely unique and she had reputation on her side as the silver medalist in 96

  • amy is just amazing

  • bronze medalist

  • so why didn't she get a medal in here?

  • I love Amy! Concert pianist, 2 time Olympian, 4.0++++ student...oh and medical student at Stanford now. I want to be her. Our coaches would have her condition with us so we'd try harder. She's probably not human but rad just the same.

  • endo-full pirouette-endo on the low bar ... so pretty. sigh.

  • That is awesome! Expessialy cause my name is AMY! hahaha! Loving it!

  • Does anybody know what the move at 0:28 is called? It's the release to the high bar, the one she fell on the first day.

  • I guess it's more like 0:27

  • It's called a Hecht. That's the move she messed up in prelims. She missed her grip a little bit when grasping the high bar.

  • Free hip hetch

  • @missjpace she didn't fall she just missed her grip and had to sit their hanging until she muscled it up

  • amazingly beautiful!

  • Calling gymnastics experts again!

What's the move at 0:18 called? I'm talking about the one after the stalder Shaposh transition.

  • they named it after her i think

its called the chow but i'm not 100%

  • @ballethoney its called a chow. she made it up.

  • Beautiful!!! She is amazing!

  • This routine just leaves me speechless. I love her lines and her pirouettes are so clean.

  • Wow! I've never seen this routine before...beautiful!

  • I love this routine

  • What was her score on this? I hate that she didn't make it to finals for the UB during this Olympics.

  • I believe it was a 9.75.

  • i agree. she could have easily beaten produnova and probably karpenko, and i think if she threw her double-double and stuck it she could have been up there with yang yun (underscored in EF) and ling jie (overscored in EF)

  • I dont think Ling Jie was overscored in the EF. Her score reflected without her tiny hop she might have even beaten Khorkina for the gold which to me makes sense. Ling Jie was so incredible on bars that with a stuck landing it would be a real close call even with Khorkina for the gold and that is what her score with the hop reflected. I do agree Yun was underscored though. Should have been atleast 9.8 or higher.

  • i HATE whe great gymnasts fumble on their specialty. That was a GREAT routine with morerisk than most American gymnasts put in their routines.

  • nice bars routine for amy
