I remember my first race at Dover was in 98, I had heard of Earnhardt, Gordon, and Martin but never really payed attention to the sport, then I saw Matt Kenseth in the Lycos 17 car dominate the Busch race at Dover and I said to my father "that's the guy", low and behold he is 2000 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year and 2003 Champion and has made the Chase every single year, part of me wishes we won a Busch championship and had great battles with Jr, but he won the big one
Matt has a championship, a ROTY award, and has made every Chase - the overrated Junior hasn't accomplished any of these, actually Junior and Matt came up the same year and Matt was ROTY!! Why Junior gets so much Pub is mind-blowing, I can think of 15-20 drivers with far more talent thant the most overrated sports-figure in sports history.

You'd think his fans would have gotten over it by now and realize he sucks. He's in the best ride this year and still isn't gettin it done. I feel sorry for Gordon and Johnson who are getting the shaft on that team to make way for trinket seller.
me too, I have tons of respect for Johnson, Johnson and Kenseth had a GREAT battle in 06 for the Cup, I was at a Ravens game trying to get updates throughout the game from my girlfriend who was in the parking lot with my brother and sister in law watching the race and the game in 2006, Jr gets all the publicity and he's 11th in the points while Johnson is leading..head scratcher
Well, you got to look at the fan b ase that likes Jr. Sadly, it's the majority of NASCAR fans. Jr. fans are the reason that people look at NASCAR of being a sport for inbred hillbillies. I can't wait until the Earnhardts are out of the sport, that way people will have to cheer for REAL DRIVERS, and not drivers who are in the sport because of their last name. Jr. was not raised in racing, in fact, he didn't even start racing till he was about 17...hmmmm
