  • this is beautiful.

  • Wonderfu, when and where was this sung?

  • who is the one dislike? what in God s name could please this poor, joyless soul? perhaps Envoy could restore his hearing but his lack of passion and beauty???

  • Corelli was a good looking tenor with a very nice voice, but please don't put him in the same class with Bjorling. Nobody in the world could compare with Bjorling.

  • @cookie2000ify Corelli was dramatic tenor and bjorling was lirico-spinto. No need to compare them, they are both amazing.

  • Some great commentator dubbed Jussi's voice heroic; that's exactly what it is; epic even.

  • Colora 40 Don`t you all never listen tenors who are still living. You all are walking it the ded mans valley.I am freesing.

  • One of the first stereophonic recordings ( 1956)

  • I myself am not too fond of Corelli's version; I much prefer Pippo's 1950's, This version by Jussi, and Caruso's 1904 version.

  • Corelli was a super tenor - a great tenor. Much more of an opera actor than Jussi Bjorling, although not quite the tenor. Jussi was one of the three and the fourth has not yet come to prominence - he may be out there!

  • I'm pretty sure this is from the complete recording under Leinsdorf. Jussi giving his

usual polished performance, but the Tosca was Zinka Milanov who for my money was clearly past her sell by date. Leonard Warren, a perfect, menacing Scarpia.

  • i love bjorling but i want to know if its true that is voice has not big, because i think is huge

  • He's one of the best, no doubt. As for Corelli, well, sorry, to call him best is a little far fetched. Maybe you didn't hear Miguel Fleta. And what about Gigli, Caruso, Pertile?

  • No way, Corelli had no equal!

  • @ucrebel59

Corelli was probably to no equal in power and squillo, but Corelli sucks with agility.

  • What a voice !!!

The best tenor of the century don't you think so ???

  • @mating412: Bjorling is one of the very best. Who has a better voice? On the other hand, Caruso's 1904 version of this aria is also priceless. He bares his soul like no other and his voice has a wonderful resonance when he opens it up. These two are among the very best for different reasons. I can't pick a favorite between them because they're both amazing. Tied for first place, as far as I'm concerned.

  • Thanks for posting this. Him and Corelli are the two best tenors of the last century.
