It's just part of it. They put a dog barking in the sound set.

Eric - do some of the Heritage units have a different horn sound....it seems that the Rio Grande is different from the Western Pacific....yes?

I can't remember, but I think they were the same. It would make sense for them all to be the same, because the prototypes are all UP engines and they were all made at the same time so there's no reason why they'd sound different. I don't have them on the layout right now, so I can't be sure. If I can, I'll take them out and see. I know that the new ES44's I've got have different horns and slightly different bodies for each road name, but I can't remember with the Heritage engines.

dam I cant wait to beable to afford sound for my loco's dam that sounds sweet as hell all I have is just dcc right now but dam I will have to start getting sound at least for a few of my locos that shit is hot.

Or not. Its really a dog barking! They must have been lazy to not get a proper recording of it shutting off..

The dog barking is really the AESS Klaxon (I think its a car horn when you listen to it in person). GE's use a mechanical "school bell"
