I was to central station that evening. It was the australian day 21:27 o'clock when i've seen the fireball

It was in the sky over my head..15/18 metres max I remember that night i'll never forget it

I was at a Sydney FC football match with some mates while other mates of mine were watching The Killers Australian Tour concert at the Hordern avilion. At the football game we saw this fireball we thought it was a firework, then we thought we were about to get bombed, then we just didn't know what to think, but not many eole at the ground seemed to notice or care much about it for some reason it was almost as like we were the only ones!

Last night driving through South Birmingham, England, when I was driving along the rubery flyover towards the M5 South Junction. Time was approx 12.45am. Was similar to this but had a distinct red glow, and a fainter, wondering yellow glow benath, shaped like an egg. It was coming in low as it passed over me, at a NE direction it was approx 500ft above me, within ten seconds or so it moved vertically, and was faint as a star, and dissapeared after another 5 seconds or so. Hope this helps.

in the 2009 new year did anyone else realize in the distance fire balls very similar to this but sevreal of them 6-4 they wern't planes or helicopters the strange thing was that it slowly moved up and slowly moved down in to the horizon in a semi circle shape never to be seen again.

this happened on australia day. on that day there are always FA - 18 hornets and F- 111's flying around. that was a military jet with afterburners lit, which also explains the loud noise ppl heard... no lil green men involved

We saw something exactly like this on New Years in sydney just 9 days ago. It was at a distance but it was a redish orange sphere very much like this one. There were at least 9 in the sky, they all drifted in a semi circle path going up before they all dissapeared as they went higher into the sky. IT"S CRAZY!! Been looking for UFO's for a long time, guess we found some. Something to tell the grandkids ;)

did any one see around ten of these lights come into sydney harbour after the fire works on nye 2008 just after 12 we all saw them from our house and they came from the ocean but they were moving very slowly way to slow to be a plane or a jet they made no noise and they dissapeared in the sky near the city. they were not from earth i have over thirty witnesses that were at my house that night and we want to hear from any one that also saw them

the blokes right it was one of 6 Sqn F111's doing it usual part trick, where it dumps raw fuel into it afterburners making a hell of a flame out the back, would explain the noise, and the fact that it was curve was the usual wing over manouvre of rolling to one side. how do i kno this? im an ACTECH with 6sqn

My guess is, seeing as it was Australia Day, it is a Royal Australian Air Force F-111 doing a 'dump and burn'

Its most likely a dump and burn form a f1-11 or f16 hornet. Its not afterburners, F1-11's can dump and burn while maintaining a quite slow airspeed.

I saw it from my house in Leichart. I am 100% sure it was a jet with afterburner on because where I am the plane was very close to me (about 500metres) and I could see the shape of the jet clearly.

Hi I leave in Paddington and saw it at around 9:10PM. It looked like a plane taking off on fire with a very loud noise. I'm glad you filmed it. I've seen it for more than a minute while it was going towards the city before disappearing.
