  • This is sooo sad but unfortunately a fact of life all across the country today. It's not the Pounds fault but the puppy farms and breeders and people who just throw out old dogs to make room for the new puppy or baby or just because they couldn't be bothered looking after them anymore. The sooner laws are changed to reflect those of USA the better and all people will be held responsible for their animals with no one able to just throw away a life...

  • This is horrible... I am so glad my Robbie got rescued in time, he was only a few days from becoming an angel, just like the little pup in the video... I am so grateful to Carrick dog shelter for taking him from the horrible dog pound and for giving him a second chance, my little Irish stray dog. <3

  • Stop your whining These Dogs are very lucky just look how they treat stray and unwanted Dogs in India Romania.Singapore and other poor countries. This Irish guys treat those Dogs with care and love.Unfortunately someone has to do that job. That's why it's important to spy or neuter your dogs and if u wanna Dog or a Puppy go and adopt 1 or 2 from a pound. There should be a law against Dog Breading businesses ridiculous ppl paying 1-2000$ for pups yet thousands of Dogs will be killed Think and adopt

  • Thats so sad so many people should go and bye dogs in these kind of places or this will happen to them. I hope less of this happens.

  • @thedogchannelincork not buy..

    odopt/rescue

  • Very sad stuff..... :-( If people would like to support some Aussie rescue dogs to get new homes can you go and watch my rescue dogs video please? We need your votes to help save even more dogs. We appreciate ANY support and THANK YOU ALL!

  • drove past the CSPCA today dogs barking the staff are kids .But this is Africa oops Ireland.

  • The way everything is done in Ireland is its not my problem its someone elses .Lets set a rescue charity rescue dogs not trained pass the problem on etc .I was thinking today what can be done about stray dogs in Ireland .This is Ireland people not just breeders dont care.

  • look at the fucking state of the dog pound .this country infuriates me .Chuck the in a wheely bin .The amount of dogs wandering the streets BUT the owners will never get in trouble .TDS dont care and the people dont care .

  • If you people don't like this, then never buy or suport anything from russia or china. China killed more then 20.000 stray dogs in a few weeks time before OS, and russia have in mosqua alone about 10.000 stray dogs. In mexico the dogs are considered trash, they aren't even allowed to live indoors, and thai eat them, so do japan. So stop your god damned whining or don't drag one place down - there are many more places that don't even bother with shelters, Ireland isn't the worst.

  • I'v been living in ireland for 5 years im from america this is awful this is horrible when they kill the dogs they just leave them in the bins thats sick you shouldnt kill these dogs why do you kill them why not save them let them live

  • To all Scandinavian/Swedish readers, head to hundarutanhem.se and see how this organization is doing it's best to HELP all these dogs in Ireland. If you can't adopt one of the dogs then there's other ways you can help, everything counts!!

  • ....

You know I always liked Ireland and the Irish people, I even hoped to visit one day .. now I'm not so sure.. It's heartbreaking to see what they are doing, I cannot believe people can be that ignorant. I only wish that people that do this type of abuse on animals get exactly what they deserve, I couldn't care less if you think you're a "good" person, if this is what you do then you're not worth shit to me.. I hope the consequence of this may follow you in this life and hereafter.

  • i know its the breeders fault and humans.

Its sad that they have to put them to sleep but the suffering will end for the dogs:(

  • Stop Puppy Farms

  • Very sad ;-(

  • This film needs to be shown on mainstream TV, especially in the run up to Christmas when backyard breeders are selling their pups and creating more unwanted dogs for the pound staff to dispose of. I feel sorry for the dog wardens who have to do this job day in and day out, it must be soul destroying.

  • it good to know here in the us and canada the bodys are cremated in a retort furnace

on the site more repectful way of disposeing thim then throwing thim in the garbage like that

  • Comment removed

  • THE ROTTWEILER GOT KILLED?

  • @Gidg1998 No, it said after the credits rolled that she went home with the film crew

  • Please watch Fox Hunting - Bloodsports in Ireland on youtube for a truly sad video as the torture inflicted on the animal is actually the Sport part. Please help get bloodsports banned in any way that you can.

  • You cut the film off too soon.

  • @weatherboi Except that the puppy wasn't put down, it said after the credits that she went home with the film crew

  • @PKBitchGirl That was the part I was meaning.........showing that the dog was not put down, but went home......don't U like happy endings? :-)

  • These people aint humans! This is fucking terrible!

Im a member of a dog rescue organisation, and i will always be.

I wanna give these cute little fellas a home.

  • Tragic.

  • This is discraceful, 26.000 Dogs were '''PUT DOWN'', In Ireland In 2008, And this number is excluding Vets, ISPCA And DSPCA. The pounds should not be allowed to put dead dogs in whelly bins until there collected, this is shameful on the pounds. RESUE NOT BREED!

  • im in tears watching this, so sad. How can they kill innocent little dogs?

  • My heart is breaking watching this.

We rescued a wonderful little dog from a local dog pound. We now have him 12 years and he has been the light of our lives.

there is no justice for dogs in this country!

  • In my opinion Its about time this government grew some balls and updated the archaic animal welfare laws in this country!

  • The image of those dogs in the bins is truly harrowing! very upsetting

  • In tears watching this. This should be shown to all irresponsible breeders and potiental buyers.

At least little luna got a home!

  • @Buntyeyes

There is no such thing as a responsible breeder, not while ANY dog is left unwanted ANYWHERE. Making more puppies for ANY reason is a death sentence for abandoned dogs. I write this in tears for the litter of puppies my family brought to the pound when i was too small to have a say, or to know what would happen to them...

  • we have been made aware that one breeder and his hungarian friend are mass producing havanese for the Irish Market , one lives in Liverpool allegedly but is really a puppy farmer. He said he wanted all his havanese to be sold in Ireland and then he will be champion breeder.

beware the name ZOLTAN means PUPPY FARMER in UK and IRELAND

  • So so sad, im in tears watching this again, this happens in the uk too, please dont breed, but rescue!
