Excellent vid. my one grip would be that I don't think the Tee-Pee motel would've had cable tv in 59, but maybe I'm just being picky. The cruise was cool,low key. Even Christine needs a quiet night off from dealing with the "shitters" as she does so well.

Hi all Belvedere/Fury lovers!, after years of waiting and trawling the internet, I have found (someone has recently made) a proper decent Plymouth Belvedere unlike the vomit in this video which we have been stuck with!

I just knew when I saw 1958 plymouth bonneville on a russian site that they got it wrong and it was actually a belvedere :D

Actual, if you've read the book, Arnie Cunningham bought the '58 Plymoth Fury from Roland D. Lebay. It was a Fury.

Christine in the movie was one hundred percent a 1958 Plymouth Fury..

That style the red with white and fins was a very popular design at that time and a lot of different model cars looked the same..

But if you look close at the tail light / headlight placement and fount grill style and the length of the vehicle you will see that the only model that really looks exactly like Christine is the 58 fury

Hate to get all anal about this...but...

Christine is referred to as a Fury in the book. But SK gots lots of things wrong. Shes a 4 door in the book, has a column change and a 383 engine. None of which a 58 Fury ever had.

In the film they never refer to her as a fury and she has no badges either.

Furies where only available in Buckskin Beige. They also had gold side inserts and a gold grill.

The colour in the film make her a Belevedere.

But Her unending Fury made a better tag line :)

u r right, but in the book it's written that Roland D. LeBay wanted a special one, red, 383 engine and a ,,torque'' 3-speed transmission

You couldn't get fury's in red. Even special order. Plymouth didnt do it.

Plymouth didnt have a 383 available until 1959.

The torqueflite transmission is a 3 speed push button.

Steven King has said he wrote the middle of the book first before he knew what the car would be.

Trust me....look at my video's and know I have really researched this :)

Savoy

Belvedere

Fury.

Each seperate models. The 350 Golden Commando engine was only available in the Fury model.

i almost bought a 56 plymouth plaza with a 277 v8 for $1400 i thought it was too much money at the time. and then i hemmed and hawed over a 56 desoto with a firedome hemi for $200 and it was snatched. so when i saw my 71 sport fury for $500 i bought it with out even looking at it first
