Oh, and dr.robotniks name in japan was always dr."eggman", butt sega of america was afraid theyd get sued by the beatles, for there song "i am the eggman", wich shows how stupid america is sometimes. so the comics said he was julian kintobor, he was then refered to as ovi, but renamed himself ivo robotnik, and then dr. eggman came. the videogames/cartoon says sonic called robonik eggman.

Oh, and for the flame war below: Sonic the Hedgehog debuted in the US and Europe 3 days before it was released in Japan. If you want to get technical, the first official name Sonic's arch-nemesis had was indeed Dr. Robotnik. Originally Sonic Team couldn't decide on any name for their "Egg-man", so they referred to him as thus until everyone agreed on his US name. You read too many comics if you think otherwise. =P

Seeing as it was 1992 - 1993 when this was made, then yeah it was animation. HAND DRAWN animation, none of that computer stuff you see today, it showed the work and time they spent on it. Even though the animations are only at the beginning and the end, it really shows how the creators of Sonic cared back then. Not to say they dont know, but back then they really put thought into their work, I mean REALLY SERIOUSLY HONESTLY put work into it back then, worked their literal ass off so to speak.

Oh man... I loved watching this when I was younger. And I still do.

This was made around the time when Animation was actually GOOD. It's a perfect example of what animation should look like. Instead of using flash crap for those lazier "animators", back then, everything was done by hand, AND done well. Look at this piece of prime work- It's what's been lost from the years of Animating! I'm almost embarrassed.

Also, Sonic CD pwns. Nuff said.

I just found out last year..... on fucking youtube. I remember getting past it as a kid but when I grew up and pulled out my genesis the only fucking way I could get past it was to use debug mode.

The only way I could get past it was by playing as sonic & tails with tails on autofail, then using tails to bounce that retarded cylinder while I held Sonic in a spin dash with my toes.

Damn i got this game for like...my 6th? birthday (now i'm 14) and damn i thought wow sonic is so cool back then...now he's slowed down they made Dr. Robotnik into the queer ass Dr. Eggman. Sonic was acctually respectable then before they ruined his games...Sure Sonic Adventure 1 was good. And Sonic The Hegehog for 360 & PS3 was a greatr attempt at bringing his speed back but the shouldve left him alone.

His full name acatatually being..."Doctor Ivo Robotnik"also known by his alias, Doctor Eggman, is a video game character and main antagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is a rotund scientist with an IQ of 300, this whole "Dr. Eggman" bullshit didn't even come up until Sega made Sonic Adventure, and someone had the bright fucking idea of starting to refer to him as "Eggman"
