@Jeddy027 manga was huge here in america for awhile. It's just that the market slowly got flooded with manga. Hence the slow death of shonen jump. Damn shame too. I don't read anymore because all the series i read where either moved out of the magazine to sell in graphic novel form or finished their runs but shonen jump offers so much for only 5$. Although most of the reader base "age 8-15" likely just see no point anymore with free anime adaptions on tv for free "although censored".
"Students create graphic novels for social change" - wow - a titel that hypnotised me. Super project for documentating what has taken place and the impacts. It includes all me wishes for completing the communication options in education and learning.
I saw "Pika-Don"at ...vimeo.c m/13498586 - it brought "Hadashi no gen" to my mind (german: "Barfuß durch Hiroshima" ). Impressiv but a different stil.

this is pretty wick i support student actually working on things that will actually contribute to society. this novel is far superior to and class essay that will only be read by the prof and student and maybe another student who lazily plagiarizes it..
.................I know it's not as popular here, but Japan has already been doing books like this for decades. It's called Manga.
Black & White,is a mixture of drawings & writing, all sorts of manga made for all ages, not just kids.
