Domestic Violence is very real and I think that seeing a famous person in that situation brings attention to this fact. I am a survivor of domestic abuse. It's hard enough to go through it privately, I cant imagine going through it publicly. I am horrified that they released this photo.
I think this falls under my belief that the media is dangerous, and there needs to be some stronger control over this kind of thing. On my way to the ER one night (I have a genetic disorder that causes problems from time to time)Some person in my apartment complex was taking photos of me as they wheeled me via gurney into the ambulance. I dont know who they are. It upsets me that some random person has photos of me like that who I cant even request them to stop as I dont know who it was.

I think it's ok if Rihanna gave her permission, but most domestically abused women feel ashamed and this is violating her privacy. I think this falls under my belief that the media is dangerous, and there needs to be some stronger control over this kind of thing. On my way to the ER one night (I have a genetic disorder that causes problems from time to time)Some person in my apartment complex was taking photos of me as they wheeled me via gurney into the ambulance. I dont know who they are. It upsets me that some random person has photos of me like that who I cant even request them to stop as I dont know who it was.

1st whoever leaked that photo, whether it is actually Rihanna or not, was 100% wrong. I know how hard it is for any person to go to the cops after being abused. It's not easy. They feel bad, most of the time the victims honestly think its their fault.
2nd it is a huge invasion of privacy and i know that when u r famous you kinda give some of that up, but when you go to the cops with something...you would think that it would remain private for a slightly longer time.

FYI, on the TMZ show, they did say that the picture was graphic and they did discuss not putting it out there, but the reason that they did, is because it was starting to look as though the picture did NOT come from the police dept, but rather Rhiannas people. I would hope that it wasn't Rhihannas people, but you never know with this industry.

Being a celebrity comes with a price, no privacy, but she has the power to speak out against abuse that many others are suffering as well, and when she heals I think she should talk about what happened.
