Hmm lets see, I was actually on the field during this game unlike the majority of you people commenting so I know the actual story. I play for Hurricane and before SC scored their 3rd TD, #5 for SC and #2 for Hurricane started jawing and both drew flags. Then after SC made that miracle TD at the end, they went for 2 and after they scored the 2, #5 for SC spit in #2's face. So before anyone esle goes on bashing Hurricane as sore losers, understand that SC was the one provoking this all along.
@05rturner Except I was there too, not on the field, but I was at the game and the Hurricane players were provoking the SC players, one in particular, by calling him a n-i-double g-er, so you have no right to say that #5 was the one of the sole reasons the fight started. Not to mention all the cheap shots that Hurricane made like shoulder checks that the refs didn't call. I didn't go to SC, and I'm not biased towards them, but I know what I saw.
@Gnorker727 I do believe that some of my teammates may not have been kind with their words towards SC players, but during pregame (something else that had an impact on the fight) we were both jawing back in forth at each other; and that included everyone on SC's team, including #5. As for the cheap shots, I wasn't engaged in any, but I do remember seeing late hits from both teams! Not just us. I love how we are the bad guys in this whole thing, when we only had 14 players on the field to brawl.
Eh, neither team was that good, I'm guessing none of these guys played D-1 ball. Maybe 1 or 2 players, that's it though lol. The fight has a great start, then eased up, which is the way it should be with kids at that age. Stand up for what you believe in, but at the same time don't let a criminal charge alter the way you want your life to go, always walk away unless you or someone else is in danger. @sthlewis I believe it is applied to next season if I remember correctly and possibly spanned across multiple sports. I could be wrong, this was a while back now.
Since the entitled willing offenders believe they dont need punished for breaking the rules and since the school, school board and coach are supporting the offenders trying to help them avoid suspensions the WVSSAC should disqualify South Charleston from post season play in 2011. A strong message has to be sent to show all schools in the state the WVSSAC sets and enforces the rules and to do the time if you do the crime. Get to the AAA game this week or award the title to Martinsburg.

Hmm lets see, I was actually on the field during this game unlike the majority of you people commenting so I know the actual story. I play for Hurricane and before SC scored their 3rd TD, #5 for SC and #2 for Hurricane started jawing and both drew flags. Then after SC made that miracle TD at the end, they went for 2 and after they scored the 2, #5 for SC spit in #2's face. So before anyone esle goes on bashing Hurricane as sore losers, understand that SC was the one provoking this all along.

@05rturner Except I was there too, not on the field, but I was at the game and the Hurricane players were provoking the SC players, one in particular, by calling him a n-i-double g-er, so you have no right to say that #5 was the one of the sole reasons the fight started. Not to mention all the cheap shots that Hurricane made like shoulder checks that the refs didn't call. I didn't go to SC, and I'm not biased towards them, but I know what I saw.

@Gnorker727 I do believe that some of my teammates may not have been kind with their words towards SC players, but during pregame (something else that had an impact on the fight) we were both jawing back in forth at each other; and that included everyone on SC's team, including #5. As for the cheap shots, I wasn't engaged in any, but I do remember seeing late hits from both teams! Not just us. I love how we are the bad guys in this whole thing, when we only had 14 players on the field to brawl.

Eh, neither team was that good, I'm guessing none of these guys played D-1 ball. Maybe 1 or 2 players, that's it though lol. The fight has a great start, then eased up, which is the way it should be with kids at that age. Stand up for what you believe in, but at the same time don't let a criminal charge alter the way you want your life to go, always walk away unless you or someone else is in danger. The person that mentioned discipline in comments is right, the fight stopped when it needed to.

@zrelefor The game was called. but no Official announcement was made. The refs literally just left the field. People were confused.

im guessing Charleston was in the white? if so you can see how bad they wanted to go out there but were restrained by there coaches (discipline) as the other team was all over the field like a bunch of monkeys! everyone in black should of been suspended that was ridiculous!

I have read here and in the Charleston Gazette that one of the reasons that extra SC players were running on the field was a change of possession. Problem is I do not see a single SC player running off. So either way one group or the other was there illegally.

Messinger had the opportunity to set these players down, he knew befroe the game that Brooke was going to protest using those players...he played them anyway because obviously they could not win without them. They had a judge in their back pocket, unfortunately for them, wiser minds prevailed. If this is the worst thing that happens to these kids in life, they are fortunate. Also, had the game not been delayed, South Charleston, had they won would have had to forfiet to Martinsburg anyway.

@rd2fst Yeah, a Judge gave them the o.k. to play...a Judge that was WRONG according to the 5 Supreme Court Justices. There was also a Judge who stopped the championship game from taking place...which gave the Supreme Court time to give there decision. Why did Messinger play those guys? He knew the game was under protest and what COULD (and did) happen. I guess a community beset with crime, drugs and crooked politicians has to try to take comfort in winning at sports..even if it means cheating.

What was this fight over? S. Charleston should have broke it up, not all 3 players jumping one guy. If S. Charleston was smarter they would have been playing in the championship right now, instead of broke.

Hurricane and Brooke are a piece of trash. They dont know how to act their age. That was bad sportsmanship right there by hitting SC. Obviously if someone was to hit you, you would also hit them back. And Brooke lost fair in square. They were the ones who said before the game that they wanted a fair game. Just because our players still got to play doesnt matter. That crap happens all the time in ALL sports if you see it or not. But SC are Champions and always will be, hands down. GREAT JOB SC!

@joby1940 A fair game...using suspended players is not a fair game and Judge Webster, the political hack, only needed to look at the Mayo decision to determine she had no business trying to usurp the WVSSAC authority. Blame Messinger for your plight, he knew what could happen (and did). If he didn't want it settled in the court room, South Charleston shouldn't have took it tho Webster in the first place.

Brooke High will never be state champs....you lost the game and didnt even shake the other teams hands...you are sore losers and i hope MHS puts 60 points on you and humiliates you for what you really are...No Class Redneck Assholes!...I think that all of the SC fans should go to the game saturday in there SC gear and root for Martinsburg because they earned their way to Wheeling.

They ruined their chances at going to state when those kids' parents went to court over it. If SC is so good, they should have just sat the kids who were suspended and won the game that way. Anyone who actually thought that the court would allow those boys to play has to be crazy. Man up and take the punishment. I also think the SSAC rules are flawed and video should be used to review

THE WV SUPREME COURT RULED THAT THE "LOCAL" JUDGE OVER STEPPED HER BOUNDS ALLOWING THE SC PLAYERS TO PLAY IN THE BROOKE GAME AFTER BEING SUSPENDED BY THE LEAGUE. Since the entitled willing offenders believe they dont need punished for breaking the rules and since the school, school board and coach are supporting the offenders trying to help them avoid suspensions the WVSSAC should disqualify South Charleston from post season play in 2011. A strong message has to be sent to show all schools in the state the WVSSAC sets and enforces the rules and to do the time if you do the crime. Get to the AAA game this week or award the title to Martinsburg.
