Painter was a helluva band regardless of which version it was. I enjoyed everything they did and they certainly had the talent to excel.
This version of the Grand Funk Railroad song Aimless Lady is so well done it's stunning. Cold performance for TV is usually not good as most players know it takes a few tunes to get the groove but these guys shine from note one. I'm glad I was able to see it again,
Hey Jim. Wayne from painter here. I don't know if you have access, but there is a video of painter on the old ROQ show on CTV with Terry David Mulligan in 1974. The show was filmed at CFTO toronto. Don't know who else to ask. There were a lot of other western canada bands on the show. Thanks buddy. I may be back in Calgary in the next few weeks so I'll look you up.
Hey Jim. Yes it's me living in Vancouver still after all these years but there is a possibility of a reunion tour this summer in western canada. about 10 dates. I will keep you informed.
I'm on the video... no shots of you but your name IS on the credit crawl at the end of "Who Needs You", "Good Golly...","Layla" and "Creepin' " so we WERE there!!!
