At first I was not a fan of the F-35 and felt that it was ugly, and tried to put too much into one package. But it's really grown on me, and I hope that it can be a big success story of the US Air Force. Good job LockMart.

Plus this plane's sensors are going to be unprecedented. I saw a video the other day showing the distributed apeture system on this plane picking up a rocket being launched from 800 miles away. If those infrared sensors on the DAS can pick up infrared signals from that far away 360 degrees around the F-35, the pilot will NEVER be caught by surpise and will see anything well before it sees him.

The F-35 IMO will be one of the best fighter planes ever built. People look at the maximum speed and think this plane can't keep up with the new Sukhois (T-50 and Su-35) from a manuverability standpoint but what they fail to see is this plane does close to Mach 1.7 and maneuvers like an empty F-16 while carrying a full load of weapons (the weapons bays are being adjusted to carry 6 AMRAAMS now). Put 6 missiles on a Su-35 and let me see if its still doing all those fancy air show maneuvers.

Hmm... Why is there footage of the F-35B in this video? The Air Farce is getting the "A" model only. The "B" and "C" are going through flight test at Pax River Maryland, not Edwards.

On another note, a comment on the future has begun... It has. the first production F-35 flew last week. < All others have been prototypes/test aircraft.

The F-35 would blast PAK FA away by using EO DAS and then fire AIM-120D or MBA Meteor Ramjet missiles.

@USAAIRPOW maybe f-35 is better or pak fa or the new J-20, but first one of those planes would detect to the other, waht kind of war is it if all planes are stealth? maybe the information in the battle fields is the real weapon of the future war,

One thing I really like about LM videos is that you people spend money on video production. I love your stuff. The only other people that seem to produce videos to your caliber is...No one... :) Boeing videos suck. Russian Sukhoi videos are probably the only thing close.
