  • Eye contact is a BAD idea. Our brains are not wired for eye contact. Eye contact can cause anxiety and in some people can cause head aches. We CAN be listening and paying attention to you without looking you in the eyes. In fact, we might be able to listen BETTER if we aren't looking you in the eyes.

I think you can use a bit more autism awareness. You can learn quite a bit about autism if you just bother to ask us and listen. But what do I know, I am just a person with autism.

  • Thanks for your comment. I know, you know every case is different, this is what Max has taught us. I agree we can all learn more, and the importance of asking questions. I hope you had a chance to appreciate how happy Max is, and enjoyed the video.

  • Thanks max, your video gave me hope, my son has autism and it scares me and makes me sad, but seeing how happy you are and how happy my jacob is makes me know that even the most toughest days are worth it at the end of the day !

  • Sara,

Jacob like max will teach you not to waste time being scared. They will be fine, if we start with ourselves accepting them for who they are. Then doing everything we can to make sure they get understood not changed.

The older they get, the less tough days. l promise.
