  • not going to lie worst movie i ever seen , and weirdest movie ever seen...

  • I absolutely wanted to punch the lead punk girl in the face for her attitude in the Swedish version. I hope they tone her down in the American. I sort of figured it out in the first scene too. I mean come on! Why would anyone send the old coot those plant images except the person that originally made them...whose body disappeared. You can put that together pretty fast. So i only saw the first twenty minutes. His daughter is probably alive.

  • A well made piece of art from Sweden, the novel is great too and so is the other 2 movies. I wondered what Fincher's re-adaptation of the novel might be like.

  • Great movie. Saw it on_______ fuck you if your gonna pirate, pirate. Don't be a bitch about it

  • i was surprised to find out after completing the book that neither the girl nor the dragon tattoo are the main focus of the story...although it becomes a good into to Lisbeth Sander for the 2 other books.

  • David Fincher will make a gem. I can hardly wait.

  • @92sebast

    the trailer is danish

  • i saw that the fourth book - 'god's revenge' - is on issuu.com already

  • Yeah, kookíca is the link to the movie. i'm watching it right now. good quality. hopefully is isn't dissapointing. :/ I will tell you my expirience later...

  • It had exellent graphics indeed, revolutionary infact but if you liked the movie for its action scenes and special effects, then you are missing out on 80% of the movie. Find it at kookíca.

  • worst trailer i have ever watched.

  • @thePsychoticSatyr Well, someone's a little butthurt.

  • can someone pleaz upload this movie

  • @thePsychoticSatyr for the money my friend , the money

  • Just saw it on kòòkica.Held off on being tempted to read too manyhints beforehand. Glad I held off- great review (superb as matter of fact), and comments added to the multitude of ways of looking at it.

  • I just saw this fantastic film for the 1st time...It's too bad that hollywood is planning on doing a remake...Why can't they just leave good movies alone?..Oh yeah because their not creative anymore.

  • got the book,

    its so awerzome

  • i loved this movie, ive seen it three times, and its got one of the best soundtracks ive ever heard. actually thinking about it now, i think its the best. there. just opinion. if you havent seen it go watch it on kookíca right now, its fantastic, brilliant.

  • @thePsychoticSatyr on behalf of america i'd like to apologize

  • this swenska på movie is for homos -.-

  • @euniceesee The book is still better, you can get it for your Kindle

  • I've always liked foreign films because I never get distracted by a familiar face (i.e. Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts...etc). Foreign films allow me to be totally engrossed in the character and film. I also like that, like real life, the endings are bittersweet or a Pyrrhic victory. I don't know why remakes need to be made in English or "go Hollywood" -- Do Americans really not like to read subtitles or take a risk seeing a no name actor? If so they are missing some really great stuff!!

  • @carr111a only one reply. Karen O, Trent Reznor, Immigrant Song!. i'm not saying that the american movie is going to be good, but the trailer makes me want to see it anyway. (after seeing the original one of course)

  • @carr111a

Have you forgotten we have been remaking foreign films for 54 years as you have Star Wars (Sci-fi remake of Hidden Fortress), Magnificent Seven (Remake of Seven Samurai), Three Men and a Baby (Remake of 3 Men and a Crib from France), Fatal Attraction (Remake of a british 1980 film called Perversion), The Ring (Remake of Ringu), Fistful of Dollars (US/Spainish/Italian remake of Yojimbo) etc. What did you think of them with their foreign versions?

  • @carr111a I don't like foreign films that much but i can understand why you like them, especially the thing with known actors it happens to me sometimes too. I just felt obliged though to reply that the "Hollywood" or "American" version that recently came out, is really not that Hollywood movie. David Fincher knows how to make movies without making it a Fast Five movie. Plus he kept the storyline just as it is at the book.

  • Booooring... go watch Cheech & Chong.

  • @thePsychoticSatyr because we run shit bitch

  • @tambatsahrial1

Look, if you're going to spam, at least do the research. This is in no way an "all age" movie.

  • Compared to the book, this film is realy poor...

The hope stay in the hollywood adaptation...

  • Excellent. Can't wait to get my hands on the books.

Not looking forward to the American version. We are too prudish and try to hide the reality and harshness of the things that happen all the time in life.

Don't generalize Americans, I don't mind subtitles at all.

I think Daniel Craig would be a good Blomkvist, the actor already reminds me of him, but have no idea about Lisbeth. Can't think of any American actress that can be that harsh. Keira Knightley played Domino (2005) really well.

  • Where can I watch the original fim with english subtitles?

  • Its mostly just in the larger cities. The Website for the movie has the places.

  • I heard there are hot sex scenes in this movie

  • @folladordeprostis second one even more. its why i think the remake with an american actress will have to be a new one. kristen, carey and them would never show or do that much.

  • Why a remake without hot sex scenes????

  • Just watched the movie!! Got it at blockbuster.. Now I love subtitles on ALL my movies.. So no problem with that.. But this Movie is also dubbed in English and I preferred dubbed for this movie.. Movie is one of the greatest films that I've seen in a long time.. Can't wait to watch next two!! Hollywood is making a remake directing by David fincher and starring Daniel Craig. Movie is great already and shouldn't be remade but im interested to see how they will do!! Also heard that the author who

  • @AnanSneakerHead The author who whattt??? The author who what???

  • looks like crap

  • Comment removed

  • I saw the movie and loved it, though it was a little easier because I understand Swedish. I live in the US, and I know that the reason they will make an English version is because there are 300 million people here and the vast majority do not speak Swedish- there are some who won't go see it just because they don't like subtitles. I prefer the original personally, but I respect if others choose to see it in the language they understand.

  • @laurabelle1966 Well.. Maybe it´s time for the americans to LEARN READ SUBTITLES!

They will miss a lot of good movies because of their ignorance. Unbeliavble...

  • @Silvervargen I would hardly call preferring a movie to be in a language that you understand rather than reading what they are saying ignorant. lol.

However, i would call your classification of Americans as ignorant simply based on this, ignorant in itself. I'm sure there are a lot of very good movies out there that are not in English though, so on that point you are right. In fact, i am getting sick of these garbage movies that keep coming out of here.

  • @aylera I would say that when you skip a movie because it's not in your language and you don't have enough of an attention span to read subtitles and you won't go see it unless it's

    A. dubbed

    B. a Hollywood remake

a sign of laziness if not ignorance,

plus you're cutting yourself off from alot of great cinematic material out there.

  • @cha5 Movies are about enjoyment and entertainment. If it's not enjoyable for someone to read subtitles, then they avoid movies with subtitles, has nothing to do with laziness or ignorance. Falling asleep during a movie someone finds boring is just that, a boring movie. It's my option that most of the time remakes are monstrosities, and good subs respect the creators vision. But no one is justified to call someone lazy or ignorant just because dubs/remakes are what they like watching.

  • @nightshift001 If someone has no interest in something besides Hollywood product and won't go see a movie because it's subtitled or in another language I have no problem with calling them lazy period, being as that limits ones exposure to the works of Kurosawa, Fellini, Bergman, films like Das Boot etc.

Dubbing is a lazy way to view foriegn films and I have no problem with that statement. As to people limiting themselves to American remakes that's their choice and their loss.

  • @cha5 It sounds like you have some thoughts on movies you want to talk about..

I never thought it was a issue to take so serious, but if you insist.

But before we start i should ask if this is a actually a american issue, or a movie issue you have?

And i guess i should say that i myself am american, and typically, yes i do watch mostly movies in english. Why, simply because most of them are. I have of course watched some good subtitled movies before though. And i have seen very bad ones too.

  • @aylera It's mainly an issue about Hollywood product when they really can't do much better than trying to do remakes of far better foreign films, and in IMHO dubbing doesn't do justice to most foreign films ala The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Let The Right One In and Hollywood remakes of those same films are to me at least something of an artistic insult,

I suppose it's something of a purist issue among other things.

  • @cha5 I myself, and probably half the united states, am tired of waiting every couple years for a real descent movie to come out of hollywood. You got no argument from me.

But i also have to say, that americans hardly watch real good foreign films not because they have sub-titles, but because we probably never heard of them. They just don't tend to be well known i think. So if you know of any good foreign films let me know, because i can use a good movie about now. Fantasy or sci-fi maybe?

  • @aylera Good points all, about the best dubbed foreign films and TV ever that I can think of I can think of are the 1954 Godzilla and Cowboy Bebop the anime series, those are among the handful that are IMO an improvement over their original language :)

Anyways good foreign fantasy and sci-fi films IMO would be

    'Pan's Labyrinth'

'Let The Right One In' (does horror count? it's really worth seeing even if you don't like horror films)

  • @aylera

'The City Of Lost Children' France's answer to Terry Gilliam

and it's something really done in the spirit of Coraline.

'Spirited Away' it's a really great animated film fantasy from Japan done by Miyazaki with elements of Alice In Wonderland, it's actually another film with a decent dubbing job.

'Inside' is a memorable French horror film about a pregnant mother to be who is being stalked and is in a terrifying situation.

These are all pretty recent films for the most part.

  • @aylera By "recent" I mean foreign films that have come out

in the last five-ten-fifteen years or so as opposed to older ones.

Most of them are subtitled but I don't think you'll find any of them boring

if you feel like checking them out.

  • @aylera Oh if you want a memorable but really really really intense and unnerving cyberpunk films from Japan check out 'Akira' and 'Tetsuo The Iron Man'

Tetsuo is really really really intense though and isn't for everyone,

it's on the scale of Cronenberg's 'The Fly' and Lynch's 'Eraserhead'

for a visual experence that once you see it you'll never forget it in your lifetime.

Anyways those are a few recommendations for great Sci-Fi and Fantasy foreign films. I hope you enjoy them :)

  • @aylera And yes I've also seen some very bad in fact crappy subtitled films myself that not even dubbing could help ;)

  • Really I think it could have used a better director. After showing her walking home limping, that and spending more time showing it than why,it took all the idea of her being evil away. Mostly after that it was them having to have the guy asking her whats wrong with her to convey the idea. I wouldn't say its any more dark and sinister than a Twilight movie.Hardly think Fincher would do a scene and then have people thinking its funny afterwards by using her limping.

  • So difficult to find a decent trailer for this movie... its incredible. Just based off the trailers for this movie I WOULD NEVER GIVE IT A CHANCE... luckily the word is out and this movie is actually pretty good. So I'll give it a rent.

  • making an american version to that masterpiece is like pissing on Leonardo Dav vinci works

  • The title translates "Men who hate women" not "The girl with the dragon tattoo"

It goes without saying that the US has the habit of raping true art on the screen and re-making it to please the larger public who lack recognition of art.

    A damn shame it is...

  • Is this movie in Sub titles is the US? Or do they speak english?

  • @coolwoman27 sub titles

  • WHY does she have a guardian if she's 24? I haven't watched the whole movie yet but i'm curious to know

  • @WOGI5M In Sweden, if you are a ward of the court because you are deemed incapable of handling your own affairs, the court can put a guardian in charge of your money, etc. to protect you. She has a guardian because she has been diagnosed as incapable of caring for herself- mostly because she has had a history of violence and because she won't open up to the therapists.

  • @laurabelle1966 Thanks.

  • say what you will, Hollywood will come out with a better, more popular film. That is their business and they are the best in the world at it.

  • I think I'm gonna love the hollywood remake, because i didn't really find the original films that good! The books rocked though!

Finally swedish productions get some credit!

I would have put Johnny Depp as Blomkvist, but he's only starring in Tim Burton movies.. Salander.. Keira Knightley might be a match;)

  • The world would be a better place if Lisbeth Salander was real!

  • GO AND WATCH THIS MOVIE,PPL

I strongly recommend it to u

My friends and I were like " oh damn we gotta read subtitle?" BUT

It turned we enjoyed the movie so much

This movie is AMAZING . U gotta watch it.

    The ending is UNPREDICTABLE, too

Im not trying to exaggerate it but this movie is an award crime winning in Sweden, FYI

  • I know how you feel, I'm American and I wish Hollywood would leave good things alone. I'm just glad that they didn't do an American version of Dr. Who. *shudders*

  • @thePsychoticSatyr Because its the movie capitol of the world, what do you expect. plus its not like Americans are cashing in on it 100% I'm sure the author has no objections to fattening his pockets with the movie deal.

  • Isn't Blomkvist supposed to be handsome?

  • @PrawnSticks: Yeah? And I think he is handsome. To each their own though...

  • Neclayton: I understand details are important stuff, and somehow, us people reading english subs all day dont seem to miss the important details ;) Come on USA, get off the lasyness :)

  • @thePsychoticSatyr Oh man, Avatar DID suck. Good example. I wouldn't say crappy movies Hollywood specific though. I would say that good movies are rare because they're obviously difficult to create. Doesn't matter who's making the movies, a good one comes along only so often.

  • @thePsychoticSatyr It isn't an American film, genius.

  • Can nobody in USA read, or why would you like to go and make a remake of this awsome movie?

Do like the rest of the world, learn to READ SUBTITLES! (maybe you would learn something about other contries) ;)

  • @Degendernation I'm fine with reading the subtitles, but movies where details are important, reading the subtitles can cause you to miss the visual cues entirely. When I watch a movie for the first time, I don't want to miss anything. Small details can have a huge impact on the experience.

  • i read all the books the re amazeing

  • Jerry Bruckheimer or JJ Abrams should pick this one up and remake it.

  • @shatchett0 ba hahahahaha! kill it enough for your kiddies to watch? fine, but it shows how weak minded you are.

  • @thePsychoticSatyr Because Americans is the most show off country in this world, they always thought that they're the best which is wrong. Americans also pissed me off when they remake the movie "one missed call" from Japan. Japan is infinite times better than U.S.A

  • Nobody has killed Hariet Vanger. She is alive she run away from her dad and her brother beacuse.

  • Cool ass movie, clever story. Watch it at Top Movie Share . net

  • My best friend is related to Stieg Larson. :) It´s so cool that it´s such an huge success right now.

  • Just saw the movie....All i can say is fantastic movie....Couldn't take my eyes off the screen....:)

  • @SniperAl1 is it subtitled or dubbed?

  • Please I'm begging you guys, please tell me, who was the one who rape and murder Hariet Vanger? I only know that, one of the family member did it. I'm begging, anyone who know the answer, please reply me coz somehow I can't find a vid to watch for this movie in Youtube. :(

  • Stop bashing Americans, we all love the Swedish version as it is. Every country has their idiots.

  • @bobb328 Yes! you're right, But honestly the higher concentration of "idiots" globally are in the south-east and most of southern parts of the United States, where I unfortunately live at the moment.

  • @Immortalgrim Go back to where stupid ass came from then fool!

  • @shatchett0 I shall! trust me. Now the "stupid ass" oh how cute, so hillbilly, so amazingly original, Bravo! I am greatly offended...oh the misery...oh the degradation oh! *sobs* you have wear me down psychologically. bahahahahahaha! You have accomplished nothing! Fool, lol!

  • @Immortalgrim

    First Fuck You

Second you're a good example of one

  • @nadeau First and foremost, why? I could not find the comment I posted before and the reason for your insult? Care to refresh my memory, other wise your post is as irrelevant as your name :)

  • pretty good movie, good movie for wasting your time. find it at

    Free Movie Zone . n e t

  • Best movie I saw in years.... Great!

  • best movie i saw in long time

  • The movie was great. May not appeal to everyone, especially with those of a lesser and more narrow mind =)

  • DUMBEST NAME FUCKING EVErRRRre

  • I think it was perfect in Swedish. if it was done in english by Americans with would be totally different. the subtitles are a bit annoying to begin with but you dont even notice you're reading them after a while.

    excellent film :)

  • i want to watch this... but first i'll get the book!!! ×bibliopath mode on×

  • i just watched it. it was like..the best thing ever???

    CHANGE IT BACK YOUTUBE

  • i saw that kirsten stewart will be the new lisberth salander.

  • AMERICA IS THE #1 WORLD POWER BEOCH!

  • @Jeremy12three You're embarrassing me. You're the kind of American that makes the rest of us look bad. Go home and fantasize about Sarah Palin.

  • @wardadams ok, well its ture so why dont you go home and fantasize about obama doing a good job

  • @Jeremy12three no, before America there is Russia

  • @yourvidisbad101 no america really is, we would take russa down if we wanted to, we are not crazy communist.

  • I Went to see it last night!

I have to say , It was absolutely fantastic. Bloody fantastic , I loved everything about this. I was due to watch a new good film at the cinema as It's been a fair while! I might even go and read the book as Ive heard that's also fantastic!

These foreign films ( In my opinion ) are the way forward. Hollywood is now too mick and mouse and the best directors are running out of Ideas. These foreign films are the future!

  • i just saw it yesterday...very good movie. i think it will win oscars for international movies for sure...very intense, left me with various emotional feelings.

  • Erm... it came out in 2009. And it wasn't even Sweden's official Oscar submission. A movie called Everlasting Moments was. o.o This isn't really an "Oscar type" film, you know. ;)

  • i haven't seen this am reading a book on it for english would it be better to read the book or watch the movie or bofe ?

    bofe maybe ?

  • I say watch the movie beforehand. Those who've read books that are made into movies tend to complain the most about changed aspects in the movies. ;)

  • I shall watch this. I prefer the Swedish version of Wallander rather than the English version (Kenneth Branagh) so this looks wonderful. What a great country Sweden seems to be. So atmospheric!

  • @acechadwick I agree! I learned a great deal about Sweden reading the novels. I want to go and visit!
