Tenor or alto solo? The high note at the beginning sounds like an alto, but it's just out of the normal playing range, in the altissimo register (in other words, there's no key for it on the saxophone, you have to create it through technique). The low note at 2:14 however sounds like a Tenor's low F.

@darktangent10 Ya, like fully legit, full solo ( it is so hard!!!!) The high notes are so high in the end, you have to go to the very last altissimo fingering and BEND the pitch up! it's a Eflat, 6 lines above the staff. D:

Here, I'll PM you with the link, it's CRAZY!!! I'm not going to say I'm some genius at the instrument, but I've been playing for 7 years, basically as long you have and just to get the notes (and sound good) out in time is a challenge... mainly at the end. I will succeed!!

@HollowTearsOfJoy Any tips on playing in altissimo register? like if you're playing that held out high D at the end of the song what fingering would you use? I know you have to modify your embouchre to play higher than what there's keys for. It's pretty easy on clarinet, but much harder on saxophone.

@darktangent10 ya, you really have to drop your jaw, take in more of the mouthpiece, and tongue REALLY lightly. If you bite just a little too hard, you will get a god awful squeak. The high D is the same fingering as the high F (you know, the one with all three buttons on the side and the top palm key on the right hand?), but you have to bend the pitch up and bring it back down, which isn't very hard considering how sensitive the notes are all the way up there. I should make a video... :)

I didn't even know you could play higher than what there is keys for until recently. Definitely going to pick up my saxes again and learn.

@bigbluechevy12345 The best term would be Afro-Cuban, this style was pioneered by bebop trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie. Afro-cuban is like a combination of jazz and complex polyrhythms of cuban and other latin american music . Bossa Nova is a little different, a good example of Bossa Nova would be Antonio Carlos Jobim.
