My dad was stationed near the border in So. Armagh in the late 60's when all hell broke loose. Officers were being killed and the border was especially bad. My mother talked him into leaving cause she didn't want to see him killed. I think it tore him apart that he didn't get to serve his country as he had wanted, but my mother's persuasion probably saved his life. These are very brave men. I will be forever grateful for the sacrifices they have made.

This is really well made video and a compelling piece of music. I feel bad for the RUC, many people in the communities they were trying to protect must have hated them. Sure they use tear gas, riot shields and break down doors etc but that was probably because people were trying to kill them. I bet your average RUC man/woman would have preferred to keep order without force. By the way before I get any backlash, I view the Troubles with a very non biased point of view despite being "a Brit".
