Here are the main reasons why I thought it was a rip off.
1. Price, your spending a ton of money, yet your degree is worthless since its not accredited
2. Admissions, they let any retard in as long as they can get the money to go here, so that means your class is going to move at a slow place since most kids won't get it.
Interesting video, looks like the campus has changed a bunch since I went almost 10 years ago. Fullsail does get a bad rep, and honestly as a former student I definitely would not recommend it to anyone. Before you bash me and say I'm a untalented hack who couldn't make it in the industry. I have been working non-stop in my industry since I graduated.
@nancyeford haha why keep hating and acting like you know the school? You didn't go there so you don't know anything about it. Just because you hear its a scam or what not on the internet (where everything is so TRUE!) doesn't mean its true. The people that have gone to the school and hate on it are most likely the students that didn't give it there all because honestly you get out what you put in..
Don't bother responding to me because I'm not wasting my time when I know the truth.
Going to other schools doesn't exactly mean it's better. I checked out others, was even given the schedules and everything. In a typical four-year college, you wouldn't even begin the film aspect until Senior year. People complaining about Full Sail either didn't read the fine print and expect stuff handed to them on silver platters, or they're too lazy to get off their asses and do some real work. Cause the real world doesn't stop just because you're bored.
@nancyeford It's sad that you really gave up because you think full sail isn't respected in the industry. Im not going to argue here because it's pointless now that you no longer are at the university but I have to tell you people like you are wrong if the first thing that comes to their mind is the fact that the school must be hard, must have a regional accreditation and Employers must be begging you to work for them as soon as you graduate. Sit down and keep waiting.
@nancyeford You're kidding right? If that's the case, then how come people want to hire me just because of my experience at Full Sail? I went to a two-year college for my Associate's degree prior to attending Full Sail and didn't get any responses to my applications. Here I am, three months after graduating Full Sail, and chances are I'll have a paid internship or job by the end of November. Until then, I'm doing just fine with freelance. YOU aren't respected in the industry because you gave up.
THxx for the vid I'm interesting in the school but trying to see how could I afford the tuition any advice. Also base on the vid, figure you graduated by now right. I"m interesting in Film. I hope this is not a very straight forward question, but after graduation did Full Sail was able to help you out with finding job or did you get an offer?? I want tuition is worthed if you know what I mean.. Thx
I'm a current student at Full Sail in the Computer Animation major. For anyone on the fence about going here trust me I had the same doubts as you did about the school. But once I saw the campus I was sold that they were legit. Now I'm 6 months into the program and I gotta say I wasn't wrong. Its an amazing education one of the best schools in the country for entertainment majors. But like any Full Sail student will tell you, you gotta love your major and be 100% committed to love Full Sail
I'm enrolled in the film program as well. In order to save money on living expenses I'm taking all of the general ed courses online first. So I start taking June 20th (four days after i graduate high school) online with English composition. But I will be moving down to Orlando in October, I believe to start the fun stuff. I toured the campus, it is so AMAZING!!!, I can't wait to go.
All these videos are getting me extremely excited! I start the film degree program in August! xD Unfortunately I'm a bit nervous seeing as I'm a New Englander and leaving my family behind. But Full Sail seems so worth it! I'll be there to study something that I am completely happy with!
Wow... you have no tact at all. I think you are afraid of people judging your shit.... so why dont you leave your comments to yourself unless you can back them up. You have nothing to say because at least Alex has courage to put his stuff up..... All of what your saying is bullshit and i dont take it seriously.... what are you 13? Seriously... your parents need to smack you. Either that or you are an old fat dude with nothing better to do... I bet you dont even go to school...
Can I ask you something? You've graduated now, and I want to know, do you have a job? Do you feel like you'll EVER have the chance of getting into the film industry? I don't want to be mean, but I've seen some of the films you've posted, and I'm not impressed. I could write better in my sleep.
I know you are not trying to be mean... but ... I think the films are awesome. They have a nice clean look to them and I love what I am seeing. He seems to have a lot of potential. Keep it coming!!!
@superspiffz But, you're wrong. Having a "clean look" is due to the high quality cameras and lighting they have. It's nothing special at all. You know nothing at all about film if you think those videos are good.
@ArmenianProductions It was a sarcastic question... but yes i did look... and all you have are movies from others with added gay music. So, why dont you stop judging and post some of your movies and see how good they get rated. Coward...
@superspiffz Well, moron, sarcasm doesn't transfer well through 'text". I don't need to upload videos up to youtube. Idiots like you will watch them. No thanks. I'll stick to showing them in film class. Where people who understand film can give me REAL critiques.
Thank you so much for posting this. This school is my top choice, and I've heard such negativity online about it. If I get in I'll be pursuing film production as well.
Is there anyway I could message/email/facebook you with some questions?
Anyway, thanks again for posting this. It's nice to see.
I don't know if I should go to Full Sail campus because its really far from home and expensive to live there. I think I might go online but I don' t think it will be as good.
Should I go here? I'm a junior in Colorado, who has had good grades and whatnot, so my options are open... How do you thin this compares to other schools like UCLA?
im still in high school, i live in texas, so florida isn't too far away, i was wondering if you knew anything about the game development area of the school. if the film sets were that awesome, i cant wait to see what they're doing for the video games.
@nancyeford why did you leave man? and whats the requirements to go there? this college is my first # 1 priority. and currently in my last year in HS =)
I am only 15 and I am really into Full sail and I cant wait till I am able to even apply to get accepted into Full Sail. This school teaches everything I want to learn unlike now I am learning everything i am not interested in. But I have a few questions about this school. Like how does the housing work? I heard they find apartments for you, but do u have to share those apartments and are they nice or tore up. And I want to be a movie/tv producer so where would I fit in at Full sail? Thank you!
Is the money worth it? Is it easy finding a job for you? Thanks Man, thing is my mom is about to beat me HARD, if I make the wrong University/career move
hey can you tell me what the social life is like over there and what do you guys do when your not working? and also are there any hot girls in the school?
@untalentedkidz No dorms at Full Sail but there's tons of nice apartments nearby. Can't choose your class times so be prepared for some crazy hours and there's always stuff happening around campuses. Once you enroll, you'll have access to all of the clubs!
@alexvomusic What Kinda of Hours, You Know I Got Stuff To Do! I May Get A Job! Whats The Shortest Class Hours There Is, And What Is The Longest. Do They Give You Breaks?
@untalentedkidz you can just go online, people are getting mugged and robbed on campus because of all the expensive equipment, thats why i live in boca raton
@alexvomusic Hey I'm a sophomore in High School. For reference, I'm exceptional for my age with creativity and sketching ability. I was planning on going to a local community college for 2 years then finishing up with a transfer to Full Sail. But my question is; what class/classes would be best for me? I really want somebody with experience in Full Saill to answer this.
@notessimodude dude for the time you would spend at a 2 year community college you can just go to full sail after you graduate cause you still will have to do those classes once you get there..
I absolutely love it here at Full Sail. It was the best decision I have ever made coming down here. It has helped me grow into a very hard working individual. I love what I am doing, Im a computer animation student. I love the full sail community.
This school is for real, I am about to start my 3rd month and it has already changed my life, and I really feel like I can be successful in the future even after Full Sail, the teachers here really know what they are doing and they are there not only to teach you but to make SURE that you become successful in the future.
I couldnt love Full Sail enough, I know that this is gonna be the best 2 years in my life.
My brother is going to full sail at the end of aug. And i cnt wait i just got to see the school this week and its amazing and the people are so nice and the school is just well awesome im only 13 but from wat i see with all the people who made big differences in the entertainment business, well i think its worth all the money ifvu are desicated and well.... Have the passion good luck to u finishing ur school and hope u make it big :)
Yes. Professors know their shit, and there is only the highest level of technology for every program. Like Alex said, you get out of it what you put into it.
No sensors here... I understand that the school has some negative feedback but I think you get what you put in... I'm still loving it here and I graduate in May. It went by too fast...
I went here, just graduated from the computer animation degree a month ago. I'm not going to lie, this school is crazy and our class started out with 70 ish people, and our graduating class was around 20.
you have to really REALLY want to do this for a career... or else you will find yourself not putting your effort into it.
and believe me, it takes that
that being said, I would repeat the experience in a heartbeat.
I highly suggest you or anyone not do it. If you dont have rich parents to pay for it, dont bother. You are going to sign the rest of your life away with Sallie Mae. Paying back $65k+ at high interest. You will have private loans that the government will not help you with. They are private, Sallie Mae will own you. Todays economy, it just not worth it. Also, i graduated 2007 from FS. Im forced to pay interest only payments of $975/month. Next Feb they will go up to $1345/month.
I'm going in for Game Art and I know I will love the career. Making comic books, I've always wanted my characters to be in a video game- especially Smash Bros. That's pretty much the reason why I even created them. I get carried away sometimes because the way I make my books I have video games in mind lol
If that makes sense. But I'm definitely copywriting my works before I even reveal my decade old series to everyone there.
@sacul109498 did they help you find a job after? have you found a job? i want to transfer there from the Art institute of houston to do Recording Arts. How does that program look to you over there?
@handsigns Yeah, they have an entire department that is dedicated to finding leads for you after you graduate. The ball is then in your court to follow up with those leads and keep checking back for new ones... I'm currently working as a television producer in California. I studied film so I'm not entirely familiar with the Recording Arts Program...
Full Sail lookes so awesome, I'm planning on attending in 2011 at Game Design and/or Game Dev (One after another). That means moving to Florida from Sweden, and that's gonna be sweeeet!
im doing the online music business program, i REALLY wanna go to the school tho. as soon as i save up to go to Floriida to live ill be able to attend the campus. its gorgeous.
We had a FullSail rep come and show us a presentation today (Sophomore, Video Production class, Class of 2012) and I was blown away. Housing is the only thing I'm concerned about, any where that is close to the Film campus, nice, and not too expensive?
Just the heads up, the degrees are credited. This school became a University not too long ago and you get your general education out of the way while you study what you love.
Full Sail tough...long hours, long days...but a good way to get an "in," in the business....I haven't even graduated yet(film May 2010) and I am heading in 3 days to an internship on the Howard Stern Show in Manhattan. Couldn't have got this opportunity without Full Sail. It has a great name in the industry!
Like Mr. Alex Vo here I too have been at Full Sail for over a year now in the film program. It seems that a lot of the critics of the school are disappointed and bitter that they weren't given this or that after graduation, but you get what you put in. If you love making movies enough then you don't need a degree for anything but god damn the stuff you learn if you care to is awesome. Equipment, faculty, other students. It's easy to get pulled down but learning what you love is like nothing else
euroyen420, A Web Designer averages $73,000 a year. I'm sure with Full Sail you can earn more. There web design program includes phone devepment and other advanced topics.
Knowing what I know...I would like all you eager beavers to post here about 6 months in and let's see if your skirts are all still blowing up? 91 grad...the degree did nothing for me.. The school was way over priced.. And you can't work on the side to live.. You need rich parents.. But, hey..good luck with all that..
I'm about 12 months into the program and still loving it here... I kinda see it as you get as much as you put in. I don't know what it was like in 91' but from my own experience, A lot has changed even in the year I've attended.
Hey dude how is the school? are the teachers good with teaching everything?i plan on going there in 2010 and i want to make sure that i choose the right school and full sail on the top of my list.
Hey i'm graduating next year in 2010 and after that I plan on going for game development. Or game design. Maybe we'll see each other there. I plan on going in sept. or oct. of 2010.
I heard being a game developer gets you more money? I'm not sure? I haven't gone their yet but that's what i think. I also think it would be easier to get a job since most people hate math! Going for film you would probably have to COMPETE ALOT! but if u want to go go for it. I'm going for game dev!
You might want to try a few classes in each area, maybe even hold off for a year or two and go to a community college where it's cheaper and you can do some gen eds and take other classes that sound interesting. It'll be cheaper in the long run too.
@thehouseofhoops I admit it's a bit pricey but well worth it in my opinion. It's just the kind of learning style I need which is hands on. Might not be for others...
Have you guys heads about IAFT? They are the new filmschool on the block. My friend Dave just got back and worked with RED cams whole time. Said it was awesome and totally affordable. School is on a tropical island in the Pacific!
som1 from fullsail came here 2 new york 2 tell my skool bout full sail. it looks so cool? how much money do u need 2 get in2 full sail? wat grades do u need again cuz i like totaly 4got.
grades? pff.. who needs em'! at full sail, all you need is a high school deploma, or a GED. and money, if your going for film, which it seems mostly everybody is, its only $75,000 for all- 4, semesters i think film is? 75 for 4 semesters, not too bad..
one other thing, I'm not trying to bash anybody but the people that are like the Full Sail degree is useless, you have to think along the lines of you are not just gonna be a producer right og the bat but the degree will help shorten the ladder and for the people who are like I didn't go there and look where I am now, producing it only took me fourteen years you cant say anything, it probably took 4 or 5 years to learn the tricks and stuff that full sail teaches in about 2.
Dude you just made my desicion for me, I will go to Full Sail for game art. This was an inspirational video and I think your gonna do great there.... perfect ssong by the way for this video.
Thinking about going. I'm from Florida btw so it would be good to go.

1. Price, your spending a ton of money, yet your degree is worthless since its not accredited
2. Admissions, they let any retard in as long as they can get the money to go here, so that means your class is going to move at a slow place since most kids won't get it.

Im not going to argue here because it's pointless now that you no longer are at the university but I have to tell you people like you are wrong if the first thing that comes to their mind is the fact that the school must be hard, must have a regional accreditation and Employers must be begging you to work for them as soon as you graduate.

Have the passion good luck to u finishing ur school and hope u make it big :)
nicknak1612 2 years ago
sooo of course they set you up to rot in debt, but if the money isn't an issue, is the school worth going to?
Conmanh101 2 years ago
Yes. Professors know their shit, and there is only the highest level of technology for every program. Like Alex said, you get out of it what you put into it.
tannerm553 2 years ago
Do only pro-full sail comments make it past the sensors?
jimbohlia 2 years ago
No sensors here... I understand that the school has some negative feedback but I think you get what you put in... I'm still loving it here and I graduate in May. It went by too fast...

I can't wait to go there FULL SAIL HERE I COME
jbeezyize 2 years ago
I went here, just graduated from the computer animation degree a month ago. I'm not going to lie, this school is crazy and our class started out with 70 ish people, and our graduating class was around 20.
you have to really REALLY want to do this for a career... or else you will find yourself not putting your effort into it.
and believe me, it takes that
that being said, I would repeat the experience in a heartbeat.
It was the most fun I have ever had.
ps:
and yes the classes at 5 am r tru
sacul109498 2 years ago 4
@sacul109498 People say it's a scam, I really want to go to Full sail but im not sure after reading all the neagtive comments about this school.
Is it reall nice?
SamsAHippie 2 years ago
I highly suggest you or anyone not do it. If you dont have rich parents to pay for it, dont bother. You are going to sign the rest of your life away with Sallie Mae. Paying back $65k+ at high interest. You will have private loans that the government will not help you with. They are private, Sallie Mae will own you. Todays economy, it just not worth it. Also, i graduated 2007 from FS. Im forced to pay interest only payments of $975/month. Next Feb they will go up to $1345/month.
CasualCrab 2 years ago
@CasualCrab
Ohh, really?
Well what's another school like Full Sail?
...thanks by the way!

@sacul109498
KomicTurtle 1 year ago
@sacul109498 did they help you find a job after? have you found a job? i want to transfer there from the Art institute of houston to do Recording Arts. How does that program look to you over there?
handsigns 1 year ago
@handsigns Yeah, they have an entire department that is dedicated to finding leads for you after you graduate. The ball is then in your court to follow up with those leads and keep checking back for new ones... I'm currently working as a television producer in California. I studied film so I'm not entirely familiar with the Recording Arts Program...

We had a FullSail rep come and show us a presentation today (Sophomore, Video Production class, Class of 2012) and I was blown away. Housing is the only thing I'm concerned about, any where that is close to the Film campus, nice, and not too expensive?
pyromanx6 2 years ago
It's just too bad you don't actually get real degrees, but I guess they're not necessary for these professions.
ybrik222 2 years ago
What do you mean? They are credited.
JayZoop 2 years ago
I've heard otherwise.
ybrik222 2 years ago
With a response like that I don't consider your response trustworthy.
JayZoop 2 years ago
Just the heads up, the degrees are credited. This school became a University not too long ago and you get your general education out of the way while you study what you love.
alexvomusic 2 years ago
Alex. How come the total credits for Full Sail is like around 128 credits but Kaplan Univeristy is like 180 credits.

Great video !
Powerfull the vidio with this song great choise !
Can you Alex explain me about if im intrested for Computer Animation is that the same course as you are in ?!
4 y long and 75k $ is it tru ?
potyec 2 years ago
GreenZeal 2 years ago
Very well said GreenZeal..

euroyen420, A Web Designer averages $73,000 a year. I'm sure with Full Sail you can earn more. There web design program includes phone devepment and other advanced topics.
JayZoop 2 years ago
A year? really? I thought $73k covers all until you finish the degree... do you know how much the entertainment business cost?
SQ163 2 years ago
Knowing what I know...I would like all you eager beavers to post here about 6 months in and let's see if your skirts are all still blowing up? 91 grad...the degree did nothing for me.. The school was way over priced.. And you can't work on the side to live.. You need rich parents.. But, hey..good luck with all that..
Blit67 2 years ago
I'm about 12 months into the program and still loving it here... I kinda see it as you get as much as you put in. I don't know what it was like in 91' but from my own experience, A lot has changed even in the year I've attended.
alexvomusic 2 years ago

Hey i'm graduating next year in 2010 and after that I plan on going for game development. Or game design. Maybe we'll see each other there. I plan on going in sept. or oct. of 2010.
Logi30001 2 years ago
that would be cool!
gerrellsuper 2 years ago
i am goin to fullsail next year but I don't know whether to take film/computer animation/game development could someone help me get my answer?
SUPERCOOLKID315 2 years ago
I heard being a game developer gets you more money? I'm not sure? I haven't gone their yet but that's what i think. I also think it would be easier to get a job since most people hate math! Going for film you would probably have to COMPETE ALOT! but if u want to go go for it. I'm going for game dev!
Logi30001 2 years ago
You might want to try a few classes in each area, maybe even hold off for a year or two and go to a community college where it's cheaper and you can do some gen eds and take other classes that sound interesting. It'll be cheaper in the long run too.

MMAninjaboy 3 years ago
grades? pff.. who needs em'! at full sail, all you need is a high school deploma, or a GED. and money, if your going for film, which it seems mostly everybody is, its only $75,000 for all- 4, semesters i think film is? 75 for 4 semesters, not too bad..
chambers110 2 years ago
i want to go to full sail SO bad! is getting in really hard?

this truly just made my mind. im defenately going here for film.

check out IAFT. Same education for like half the money. plus you get to live on a tropical island
jimmytwanger 2 years ago
one other thing, I'm not trying to bash anybody but the people that are like the Full Sail degree is useless, you have to think along the lines of you are not just gonna be a producer right og the bat but the degree will help shorten the ladder and for the people who are like I didn't go there and look where I am now, producing it only took me fourteen years you cant say anything, it probably took 4 or 5 years to learn the tricks and stuff that full sail teaches in about 2.
bigj117 3 years ago
Dude you just made my desicion for me, I will go to Full Sail for game art. This was an inspirational video and I think your gonna do great there.... perfect ssong by the way for this video.
