@tcfuturevet This is the first movement, Allegro from Mozart's Clarinet Concerto. I don't know if you are still wondering...but there's an answer if you still do. I agree! This is a remarkable piece! I'm very grateful that Mozart composed it, as I can't imagine the clarinet without it.
im not the biggest fan of all the things he added in, i believe mozart meant this concerto to be a certain way. however, im not denying that he is one of the MOST AMAZING players ever. i just like the sharon kam recording of this better.
the most beautiful,heavenly,celestial,sweet,... work composed for clarinet, there are no words to describe it except saying that since it was written for mozart near his death,GOD was calling him and laid his hand upon him, long live mozart
Shallow musicianship; little or no control of the subtleties of the music (tonally and agogically as well technically) but rather a lot of unmusical cliches. Mannered and predictable personality (as if every move was carefully choreographed). Fundamental clarinet production is good though but unfortunately he does not put it to use to serve the music. What a pity!
What a crushing blow it must be to Martin Frost, hearing criticism from a California state college professor. It reminds me of the quote from the lead singer of Oasis, (his name escapes me) who said "The Beatles didn't invent nothin"
We all gotta consider the perception that we think is great. I think as students, we can't decide upon that perception because we're still growing to perfect ourselves as individual players.
Just because he teaches at a CSU doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's talking about.
But your opinion, even though it might be a firm one, does NOT give you rights to spam the comments. Despite his "failures" as a musician, he obviously succeeded as a soloist - something very very few people do. As a bassoonist I have no idea of the technique aspects of mozart - and I must say, hearing Fröst (not really this recording though) is pure pleasure.

Great interpretation! I think Martin Frost is one of the best clarinet players in the world. Plus it's absolutely awesome that he is Swedish.

Ist eine bömische nicht eine "englische" ? Also ich kenne die Unterscheidung nur zwischen deutsch und französischem ( böhm) System ?!

I'm pretty sure most people would need to since you would probably need to put faster air through the horn since it's longer.
