Hey man. I have a professional game development team and would like to know if you want to help with the openGL(C++) game engine we are currently developing. Message me if you are interested.
I wish the level of programming I did at university matched that. In my 3rd year they only just started teaching basic windows application development.
wow, i bet that was hard to make. Do you code those trees? or get them from a library? i am wanting to get into 3d graphics. Is it best to use a software such as 3d MAX or can you just code all that stuff??
ee it's meant that you have great skills and posibble the graphics of GTA5 :D... btw i don't know what means is "sarcasm"? you know .. I'm not English :P
Many thanks for the complements, its the product of hours of hard work and sticking my head inside math books. Plus I did a great university course, which I highly reccomend.
So many trolls that we look at attacks where there's only compliments...
Anyway... Great Video!
The movement of the Trees, bushes and shrubs because of the "wind" is just awesome.
The shape of the landscape is impressive and looks really well.
Im curious about the shrubs... Did you made them procedurally too? I'd like to see how to do it. If you know of a tutorial or something to create stuff like that.
Textures look great too. Maybe the water was a bit fast. Perlin?

You got more details than Crysis in your engine. You should defenetly continue working on it, who knows maybe you'll end up rich.

Wow!! I am orking on a Terrain but im still buzzy with all the normals! The wind is amazing!
shorty0802 4 years ago
a vertex normal is the average of all the neighboord faces..
hint : require 2 passes.
first pass to calculate the faces normal (faceted result)
second pass to apply average to it.
UnIXbLueStar 3 years ago
Yeah, but you don't need to do it in realtime.
(also, I think you mean neighbouring faces).
