  • Okay. I finished the manga few hours ago.

Now, screw you. I dropped a tear at this song and Kenji pics in the background.

Though, thanks a lot for sharing.

    Still, screw you. -3

  • why there is bob lennon skyrim in search...?

  • @KevinZS I think there's a let's player named bob lennon that's why.

  • nice, good job

  • this cartoon has sound I don't know why it has sound and moving

  • @nayruto I can't quite understand your English, but if you mean that the manga is "moving" as in it is powerful and poignant, then I agree with you.

  • Ron Paul 2012!!!

  • So what did he rip off Dylan and what of Lennon? Names of the songs if possible.

  • @zhok023 Well the harmonica part is definitely similar to what Bob Dylan would do. Not sure about John Lennon though, other than the lyrics seem to empower people much like Imagine did.

  • @ElegeantFencer Well I kinda thought something like that, but I was wondering if he took it from real songs and which ones on just their style to put it that way.

  • The Best Manga.

  • Best manga ever

  • My fav. Manga <3

  • OMG, I totally <3 this manga with all my soul, best manga EVER!!!!!!!! I'm still reading it though

    <3 it ^^

  • Emotion overflow!

  • Guitar makes good defence against gunshots?

  • @toolworks I know right? That part of the manga didn't make sense.

  • Listening to this song while reading the manga blows my mind and the harmonica part is really touching.

  • Fuckin great, alcohol+this song= truth

  • A story about a man saving the world through rock'n roll. EPIC !!

  • @some1fromhell and friendship. Can't forget that.

  • This manga kept me thoroughly entertained for a long time! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good story.

  • anyone have any suggestions of otheer japanese songs like this one?

  • When the harmonica hits, the tears start flowing

  • No wonder no one tossed him any coins. He is such a bad singer XD But its so touching!

  • DONKEEEEEEEEEY ........... !!!!!!!

  • @candraPurnamaRachman God that part was so sad. *sniff*

  • This song can save the world

  • I would totally put money in his guitar case

  • Yeah. We need more music like this.

  • Beautiful, simply beautiful.

  • Ahaha this is just amazing :D

  • Guta Lala...

  • T-T

  • Always listen to this on the New Year. Thanks for posting. =)

  • Thank God this is not going to be anime.

  • @nayruto why do you say that? Monster was adapted and worked perfectly as anime...

  • I like the melancholy mood of this version. It really captures Kenji's state of mind. Friend basically has the Japanese government in the palm of his hand, he's turned Kenji into a terrorist, and he just seems unstoppable. The hopelessness of it all is in the song. But Kenji's still fighting. It's like he's saying, "I have no superpowers. I don't have a giant robot or laser guns or anything. I just have my guitar. ... I'll still save the world." (didn't like the ending of the whole manga though)

  • @stickting

You mean the end or the 21st Century Boys end?

  • @MsFerna

Both. Too many loose ends in 20th Century Boys. Kinda rushed feeling with some wtf moments in 21st Century Boys

The first story arc was still the best.

  • @stickting I agree with you lots, I felt they kinda forced it (in the 21st) but explains more things, the 20th it's just a big "And then...?"

  • @stickting You perfectly described the feeling.

  • This manga... did anyone else than me finds that is based on "It" by Stephen King?

  • @trescuernos Actually the story is based on Urasawa's past experiences in his life. Especially his love for rock 'n roll. This manga does have some similarities to It. But I think its just coincidence.

  • @HeatLegs A big robot appeared in one of his past experiences? O_O

No but I get where you're coming from :P

  • @ChappersLaNoCry

    LMAO! xD

But yeah, he actually did play T-Rex's 20th Century Boy at his school during lunchtime, did you know that? Sadly, nobody bothered to paid attention, and Urasawa never became the rebellious hero he thought he was meant to be. Though frankly, he sort of is that now as a comic book writer and artist. :D

  • This song is the elixir for the bad/sad moments

  • which 2 songs was this song based on?

  • God, been reading the manga while listening to this... it creates a really sad atmosphere about to cry nonstop

  • There is... something really sad about this song... cant put my finger on it though...

what i know its that it almost makes me cry... maybe its for kenji dying?... no.. neither the lyrics... i gues its the "feeling" on the song that you sometimes get from them?

  • Fuck Friend!

  • i'm currently reading 20th century boy and like to look up the songz kenji mentions and listen to them as it's playing in the manga, and this song is just beautiful

  • This song is incredible. Makes me cry ...

  • This song shows a part of how much heart and passion he projected into 20th Century Boys. This world needs more mangaka like him. On the other hand, him being one of his only kind just makes his craft all the more sweeter.....

  • love 20th century boys...

  • who is the singer?

I like so much this song, in my mind it's the real kenji who is singing against the Friend!

but what is the song released with the manga?

  • @MikanChannel

    Urasawa wrote and performed this.

  • Hmmm..

    Where's the Gutalala, Sudalala?

    D:

    >_>

  • I readed the manga like two years ago and now I realize that the beginning of the song sounds a lot like the beginning of Cocaine Blues from Tell Tale Signs by Bob Dylan. That's nice.

  • @Sam8D Well Kenji himself did admit he was ripping off both Bob Dylan and John Lennon. Hence the name of the song....

  • I really loved how real this story became with how much you came to love the characters. But I felt like there were still a lot of lose ends when it was over. Like it got cut two chapters early or something.

  • I wonder if those people who gave thumbs down to my comment actually bothered to read Monster...? 20CB was good, but it relied on a lot of nonsensical contrivances.

  • Urasawa is just awesome. I know you'll never read this, but thanks for bringing up some of the best mangás I've ever read. Keep being a great mangaka.

  • you mother fucker... omg

  • w-why are you saying that?

  • Not everyone has finished the manga, please remove your comment because it contains spoilers.

  • Fantastic series, I'm absolutely hooked. Great song as well, really brings Kenji to life.

  • マンガだとこんなんなんだw

  • Well done Kenji, that was an awesome song.

    BRAVO!

  • nice song but where is gutalala

  • You see, people say that, if you try hard enough, you can hear this song on the radio... but is somehow different... a different version, that is... with some new lyrics. And they say: Gutalala, sudalala (8)

(I suppose you have already read 20th Century Boys, yes; just trying to get a little meta comment around here)

  • yeah...the best manga ..also the best movie i've ever watch which is directed by naoki urusawa.. thumbs up huhuhuh i love it...

  • I now have to listen to this song everyday lol

  • Definitely the best manga series I have ever read, even above Akira (Which itself, is amazing).

Wanted to hear Kenji's song, as I jsut finished reading the series today....

  • Monster is a lot better than this.

  • the third movie was more worth than 1000yen! i could of paid 2000 for it

  • おk牧場

  • いい歌^^

  • the greatest manga i ve ever read......a story that totally shook me.....this song, even having not heard it,had already gained a place in my heart, when i was reading the manga......20TH CENTURY BOYS ROCKS!!

  • movie doesnt seem that bad like death note for example ;) someone here who can tell me where I can watch the movie?

  • I'm pretty sure someone's uploaded it on youtube. Sorry for the late response, haha.

  • 66,666 views lol

  • Yeah i know for the movie but i was wondering about anime...

  • Is there any signs of anime adaptation of this great manga?

  • There's a movie trilogy.

  • Anime would be better =/

Still I enjoy the movies. I can still hope for an anime release someday :)

  • No, it wasn't.

  • @hillzagold

It's not anime. But it's awesome.

  • muy buena escasi como si mismo kenji la cantase muy buena =)

  • Hillza, where did you get this version? Did you record it?

  • Came with the files.

  • Thai people need kenji.

  • Did Naoki Urakawa write this?

This is my favourtie manga. Just finished this night at 3:30 am. (included 21st C.B.)

And this song just made my day T_T

    Thank you hillzagold

  • Ooops sorry---Urasawa*

  • No spoilers.

  • just awesome T_T

  • I thought it was a nice touch to have Kenji sing "Bob Lennon" during the credits of the first live-action 20th Century Boys movie.

Can't wait for the second movie!

  • the second one was out few months ago if your in japan

  • estaria chido que alguien se pase las Tab de esta rola

  • One of the best mangas ever, nice song! I was always wondering what sort of music Kenji sang, and now I know. Very sensitive song!

  • esta rola es una de las mejores que e oido

  • dios que cancion tan buena ... acabo de ver la primera peli y me pone nostalgico =( ahora me siento aun mas orgulloso de ayudar a fansubear el manga =D

  • I just finished this manga today, been crying alot listening to this song thinking about 20th century boys.

  • One of the Best Creations Ever of all Arts..

there are no words to describe what 20th Century Boys

The Word EPIC is so little...

  • i always listen to this song whenever i need to cry my eyes out

  • I really understand what you mean. It's such a sad song. One guy against the world. A crazy world.

  • i dont like how the bad guys are all redeemed... the only evil person in the end was the original friend who died all early on, meaning there was no villain for a majority of the series

  • Sorry I haven't finished it it yet. Spoiler! LOL nevermind ;).

  • @cVlman I know exactly how you feel just like in the movie when he finds out just how he feels :) this film is just so peaceful at the end. Uniting humanity...it's what should happen ^_^

  • hey, where can i download this song? if anyone can get the guta lala version please let me know.. thanks..

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks so much for the upload. I just got to this part of the manga, and it is excellent. The song fits so well.

  • yeah!!!

  • Esta canción transmite todo lo que siente kenji y solo por eso, aunque esté desafinada, es fantástica.

  • T.T ahhhhhh!!! i cried a river...

awesome feature to this awesome manga

  • Awesome! Thanks a lot, I was thinking I'd never get the chance to hear it.

  • is this the same song as the "guta lala" song?

  • Nope, this one is the first song Kenji composed. The "Guta Lala" is not present here.

  • Well, it's kind of the same song. The "Guta lala" was simply added to the end of this song.

  • huge song huge manga

    thx NAOKI URASAWA SAN

  • Thanks a lot I loved this song on the manga and was looking to find the real song, thanks a lot, really

  • awesome song, i think the main song that kenji got inspired from might be from Blowing in the wind and Imagine ^_^

  • Just imagine Kanna listening to this song, over and over... ;.;

  • 20th century boys es un manga excelente y esta cancio iguaL

  • I miss reading 20THcbs T.T btw I hated the wait until we got 21stcbs lol

  • when I read that part I was listening to the song at the same time. I felt like crying T_T

  • やりが降ろうとも みんな家に帰ろう

    邪魔させない 誰にも止める権利はない

  • very good work (about the video) perfect work from Naoki-sama!!

  • love this manga

    love this song

    thanks u =)

  • Hey this song is good :D

  • What guitar is Kenji using?

  • I wanna the FULL version with guta lala suda lala!!! 7-7

  • Is the guta lala suda lala version out at all?

  • Yeah, can anybody explain to me, why there is no Gutala Sudala in this song?

  • This version is the one from volume 8, the song Kenji plays right before the new millennium. The gutalala sudalala version was created over a decade later, as far as the manga fiction goes. I'm not aware of whether or not it exists.

  • well I knew that part, but I've seen the latter version performed live so I thought maybe it was out.

  • Best Manga Ever. Seriously.

  • "Is there anything you wish yo had said when you were a child? Me. . I've got a few."

  • Great plot, great drawings, and GREAT MUSIC!!

Endou Kenji has a Lifehouse kinda voice, if that's really him singing.

  • I'm pretty sure Endo Kenji is a real person...rather, this is Naoki Urasawa I think.

  • GUTALA WASUDALALA !

Great manga, great song, what can you say lol

  • This song is so great! I really loved the manga... just finished it :'(

let's hope the new book of provecy will not come true in our history :)

  • It's not real prophecy because the one who wrote it is also the one who's making the prophecies come true.

Am I the only one disappointed in the ending?

  • No you aren't....I wasn't really satisfied with the ending either but oh well. It's still a damn great series.

  • Haha yeah, but he sure kept us on the edge of our seats the whole time.

  • I was wondering how Kenji knew who the masked kid was at the end...

  • He didn't. Read the whole thing. Well, unless you HAVE read the whole thing and you're talking about something I haven't read yet. The last chapter was published under the title "21st Century Boys". If you haven't read that, do so. It seems like a lot of readers miss it.

  • But Kenji did know his name, so I'm assuming he knew who he was.

  • what was wrong with the ending?

  • What guitar does Kenji use?

  • This song packs a punch. I love it, almost moved to tears my hearing this. This is a great manga and I encourage everyone to read 20th Century Boys.

  • Gutalala

    Sudalala

  • can anyone plz tell me the date of the issue in the video. ? and also ,anyone can tell me how to find the original Bob Dylan n John Lennon song? plz. thanks

  • great song, great manga, i hav read it. thanks for posting

  • who actually sings this song?

  • mrsticky:

Probably Urasawa himself. search "Bob Lennon" and watch him sing.

  • well if it is Urasawa he's a good singer.

  • The best manga ever!

  • Excellent work!

  • This manga is a masterpiece, can´t wait to see the movie(s) next year

  • Awesome song..

    I like it.

Anyone can tell me how to download it?

I want to add this song as my mp3

  • i got it from downloading the manga :/

  • Do you have the tab?

Amazing song, i'll try it by ear. ;P

  • thanks for this :-D
