  • theres a couple of those trucks russting away on a farm about 15 min from here..radical build...cool

  • Is this the car that's up in the picture section of Radir Wheel's homepage? Must be

  • @ridewithES yeah same car...

  • @ridewithES yeah same car...

  • one of the best builders ever...insight and vision most of us only wish we could have. period........rat rod hot rod...........its about the build..no matter what you call...

  • ur the man i seen on t.v. right you work for jimmy shine

  • hey, i just drilled out my frame 21/2'', and now im gonna install 2 1/2" sleeves to each hole to reinforce it, is this gonna be enough to keep it rigid? or should i use angl iron underneath the frame?

  • thats just stupid

  • yeah, whats stupid about it smart ass?

  • drilling out holes in the frame to save what, 5 pounds...then putting double the weight in bars to renforce it..it defeats the purpose

  • obviously you dont understand asthetics. some things are purley done for looks-sorry that doesnt make sense to you and 1-800 hot rod! this isnt american hot rod, this is do what you think is good for your car, and build it yourself...

  • form over function?.......its a rat rod buddy not a garage queen

  • first you dog me for drilling out my frame, then you say form over function? make up your mind guy! oh, and why is it a rat rod? and not a hot rod?

  • "A rat rod is a style of hot rod or custom car that, in most cases, imitates (or exaggerates) the early hot rods of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. It is not to be confused with the somewhat closely related "traditional" hot rod, which is an accurate re-creation or period-correct restoration of a hot rod from the same era.

Most rat rods appear "unfinished" (whether they actually are or are not), with just the bare essentials to be driven."

  • The rat rod is the visualization of the idea of function over form. Rat rods are meant to be driven, not shown off. Sometimes the customization will include using spare parts, or parts from another car altogether

  • gee thanks for the history lesson you memorized off a google search. ive been building trad rods for about 20 years now-when i got started i was 15. i work out of my garage in my free time so quit tryin ta school me jr, ive been around for a long time!

  • youve been building rods for twenty years, yet you ask about frame rigidity to some folks on youtube, wierd!!! Im not saying you havent built them infact as far as I know its just the first that youve drilled holes on and all the other ones you didnt do that to, I dont know but its kinda funny.

  • ok, this is the first frame ive built from scratch. most of the cars ive done have been mostly together and either needed drivetrain and paint, or cosmetic work. ive never sectioned a car, chopped a top on an early 50s car, or drilled out a frame until now on a Model A! I aint fuckin Gene Winfiled. and no, I didnt just ask anyone on youtube, i asked Littleman, some one who has already did it.

  • I believe that I said "Maybe its the first one youve drilled holes on" get your lil panties out of a wad GEEZE.

  • if you dont like angry comments, dont write a bunch of nonsense!

  • your twenty years of experience but hey can someone tell me what Im doing that seems more like nonsence, then me making fun of you.

  • HEMI owns? :DD

  • he worked at jimmy shines garaje i watched him on discovery :)

  • i envy you so much!!! awsome garage!!.. though the rod looks wierd with the engine ramed in the body like that.. btw whats a good and cheap pipe bender?!!
