  • Thanks for sharing.

  • looks good not sure about the beard

  • I have a Tascam US-144 interface and it works fine with Record

  • look really cool but there no auto tuning option which would mean i would stick to logic 8 for most apps.

but i would get it just fr its amazing time stretching capabilities

  • I know what you mean about the autotune, but it sadly speaks volumes about what we expect software to do for us these days when we're 'marking down' new software because it can't fix dodgy vocals :-/

  • i know what you mean this is the world of the audio professional at the moment.

however i do like to use autotune for things like bass and other instruments as it can sometimes add cool harmonics to the notes. i think also the lack of a really deep corrective EQ will stop me going all over to reason

  • I cannot wait till september when this is released....

I have always dreamed of using reason that way

    Good job Propellerheads

  • In my opinion... if you understand what reason can do you don't need vst integration. You can make anything you want with the included instruments in reason and now with record! your good dood to go....

  • I agree with you in that Reason can do anything you would want to do as far as midi sequencing. Reason doesn't need vst. However, Record is missing things like Auto-Tune and Melodyne are two awesome VSTs that Record doesn't seem to have an equivalent of and that's the only thing that is disappointing about Record for me. I think it's going to be a great program, but it is going to be missing some stuff you can do with vst as far as audio.

  • @510ohNO Record has Neptune, which is an excellent pitch shifting device which can give you that autotune effect but can also do many other really cool and useful things.

  • @EvasionManifest Yep you're right. Record 1.5 wasn't announced yet when I made the previous comment :)

  • @510ohNO Record 1.5 has Neptune and Vocoder ...Propellerhead's softwares are the BEST !

  • @Mission4SoulsEntity you can even imagine how much i like this software..It has all i need in the box ! Install and make music that's all.. Plug and Play :D just Perfect !

  • if you have reasons already you can still creat a subtracker or reddrum or any reason vst track and then creat a audio track for vocals, so you can still use your reasons vst 's reason record and reguler reason work together as one.

  • the problem with adding vst capability to reson software is that it will make reason exactly the opposite of what its trying to do.

the basis of reason is the stability and its lack of strain on the processor and adding vst compatibility will make it more unstable like some other daws.

i my self use logic for production and some mixing but i love the fact that i have reason for some special things like tape flutter, RPG8, and time stretch

  • ive allready signed up 4 beta testing!

  • Ditto can't wait!!! awesome, open my song's in reason and ACTUALLY RECORD LIVE THROUGH MY EFFECTS AND MY VOCODER PATCHES OMFG!!

  • - i just tested it yesturday....its absolutley beautiful- ....this will phaze out reason all togeather, since when u run it , it contains what ever reason you allready have + the new add ons- . the mixer is SLAMMIN, and sounds very nice, and also, theres a new rack veiw witch allows side by side racks- youll see- i cant wait for the full version!

  • Someone said that there is no MIDI out ? What does it mean? You can't automate e.g. the pitch with a midi controller?

  • You can't use it to sequence hardware synths in the same way you can sequence the Reason synths.

It still has a MIDI input but that is only useful for things contained within the software.

  • thanks man :)

  • no, reverse that, there is no MIDI out, key word is out, in other words you can't use reason to automate a midi device such as a synth or drim machine - but.... why would you?

  • In my home studio I record Drums with a Roland TD20....I often find it handy to record the drums in as MIDI first. Then I can edit the timing easier using MIDI rather than chopping up audio....Send the MIDI out to the kit, record 8 audio in from the kit..perfectly played by an average Drummer haha.

  • Are the reason instruments( not the effects ) included in record ?

  • no but if you already have reason the units will be available in Record

  • Looks good

  • Comment removed

  • no mastering

  • mastering is there

  • as much as your "hardware interface" can handle at once, with a limit of 60 software mixer faders.

  • no limit

  • Does anyone know how many tracks you can record simultaneously?

Also when using Record with Reason do they integrate together like a DAW in that Record does all the audio tracks and Reason does all the midi tracks?

  • Record clips are said to contain audio midi or automation.

  • together, they behave as one program
