  • John, it says the content owner is not allowing this to be played on mobile devices, that's a shame.wanted to hear this on my smart phone.- Rik Shannon

  • nice music!!!

  • Billy slapping? Never thought I'd see it! ;)

  • Anyone else listening to this TODAY?

  • John, is there a video of 'Bullet Train Blues' on Youtube anywhere?

  • Rush and Niacin, are in my opinion, the two best trios out there (hopefully so far!).

  • technical...interesting...amazing...clean...good structures....feeling....all this is Niacin...greetings from Mexico

  • ELP meets MAHAVISHNU and no one gets hurt, but thousands of BATS are killed in the process

  • Any word on the new album? Can't wait for it, my B3 dosage needs refreshment...thanks for your music!

  • I love this kind of music, Niacin is amazing.

  • Niacin is the band that brought me in to this kinda music for the first time. It's so talented, fast and played with a soul at the same time. I admire every single one of the band.

  • holy crap!

  • Niacin is vitamin B3 - get it!!!

  • @keysnovello Its a good thing they did not stop with the B2. Not only the percussion circuit, but what kind of name would 'Riboflavin' be for a band?

  • Are all these guys Scientologists or is it just Billy? I ask because Niacin is a "vitamin" Scientologists give to eachother during "Purification Ritual."

  • 0:45 is so hard to play on the drums

  • hwey guess what guys

    im 12 years old

i love niacin and all the real music there is out there.

    long live real music

i wish justin bieber didnt ruin the earth

  • 1:52 WTF???

  • This is truely amazing!

  • This is pure perfection !!!

  • John..... You.Are.A.PIMP! :D And Dennis... I'd take a bullet for you. And Billy... I'd totally let you slap me silly.

  • i have to tell you, my FAVORITE keyboard player in the universe is dave stewart (the REAL one!), one of my FAVE bass-players (payin' attention billy?) is mont campbell, & one of my FAVE bands EVER is egg (with hatfield not far behind)! i just discovered this lineup (youz guyz) like 15 min's ago, & THIS is where billy belongs! puh-LEEZ, make him listen to egg's 3rd lp, "civil surface (particularly "enneagram" & "germ patrol")," as well as their 2nd, "polite force."

  • @badmuddy-

mont is the guy that made fuzz bass BITCHIN'! without him, there'd be no john greaves (who've i've actually played with, in nat health) of henry cow. i actually opened for mr big at the ritz years ago, & had i known billy would've been interested in this kinda thing, i woulda grabbed him & said "son, you need to hear this."

  • @badmuddy Don't forget Hugh Hopper's fuzz bass.

  • dennis, great haircut :)

  • I took a break and came back. i had ahope. You know what it was? that i would like this song when I came back to listen to it. Saldy it is worse. In fact that bad after 8 seconds I placed my testicles in a mincer and enjoyed that more. Sadly I see very little talent within this music nor a great ejoyment. Especially when compared to say gunther or poets of the fall.

  • Bad ass b3 trio. I love that .. Novello isn't keith Emerson that's for sure (but who is) but Dennis and Billy blow Palmer and Lake out in the groove dept. Excellent band here.

  • Dear John Novello, i am always a big fan of Niacin, and i met you at java jazz 2010. I'll be waiting for the next Niacin album, so do the Niacin's fans in Indonesia. Keep on playing the Hammond B3

  • @dandankarpinski222 speaking shit over some of the best musicians on earth?

i guess you have sold more records, wrote better songs and you are already a legend on your instrument , right? btw last time i saw the B3 dvd you weren´t on it, schmuck!

  • This has become just more pish. it is like a mongoose to a meerkat. I think if i return to this page one more time I will die not due to its awesomeness but due to the severe hatred of life this gives me. Its like putting OSX onto a PC it just sucks! plain and simples!!

  • Are you retard?... well, what a question, obviously you are.

  • @dandankarpinski222

    you know nothing about music...

  • @oneforgivai thats not metal. thats absolute shite. if you think thats metal then i wqnt some of the crack youre smoking. thanks :D

  • alex porter likes men

  • If offered the choice of a lifetime within a nazi concentration camp or listening to this once i think i would choose the former! Each member of this shite band with its extremely shite name deserves to be hit repeatedly with mining equipment over the head. Yes.....It really is that bad!

  • I love this song - apart from the bit between 0:08-4:54, it was shite. The rest was amazing, though!

  • this guy is absolute shite. ive got a massive box of old rotten eggs here. anyone fancy joining me to one of his concerts. hell il even pay for the ticket to get in.

    guy is horrid.

  • I feel bad cuz ...I didn't know Billy could slap ...he is one cool muso :)

  • billy sheehan = the best bass player!

  • Reminds me of Weather Report,

Both Bass players are the lead

    and they kick ass

    Jazz Fusion

  • goddamn, i said, goddamn. that is TASTY. i want to eat that groove for desert.

  • thx for uploading this

    reminds me of Vanilla Fudge =}

  • Been hooked on these guys for the last 3 months..........What a dream to have guys like Sheehan and Chambers playing with you..........Nice to here a keyboard player with some ballsy style.....Nothing better than a B3

  • Ok I just found these guys from following Chambers work around YouTube. I have been a Sheehan fan for years. Don't know Novello, but he has the goods. Finally..a band that delivers on the format of ELP, and on the promise of UK. With a lot more soul than either one....

  • i wish my bass had LEDS

  • what's that spinning thing at the beginning?

  • hammond organ leslie rotary leslie speaker...:)))

  • @lawarsi

That is the rotating horn in the top of a Leslie speaker cabinet. they are very commonly used in tandem with Hammond B3's. They make a kinda worbly/vibrato sound that is signature with rock and jazz organ

  • Great musicianship, but what makes the song is an interesting groove captured at the foundation which

    imparts a very cool vibe.

  • unbelievable!

  • It's funny. I've heard Billy Sheehan say that he doesn't slap much because he's not very good at it. I'm not sure what he's talking about because this song has some pretty cool slapping in it.

  • This is very basic slapping though. There are many others that do it much better. Slapping just isn't his thing. For the type of music he plays he really doesn't need to do it so why bother?

  • @Xanadu1115 well he said that many years ago. You can learn new things during time.

  • Oh, and with playing bass, I find that the upper arm is what gets sore the most, if you have to repeatedly go up and down a few frets.

  • im sure all three of their forearms were burning like crazy after that one.

  • I dunno dude. They have probably built up A LOT of forearm endurance after years of playing.

  • Freeform billy sheehan way haha

  • ok i need to go practice now.

  • One of the BADDEST ASS trios ever!!!

  • We all, Dennis. Billy and I, appreciate your support!

  • How the new album coming ? I know Dennis has been touring with Santana this year , AGAIN !! ( paying the bills im sure :D ). Ok John, any hint as to when your next tour might go down ? Bring it to Virginia beach man !! :P I am still floored by this album, 'Soul Diversion' could very well be my favorite drumming song of all time !!!

  • wow...billy doing slap bass...amazing

  • billy hazme un hijooooo jajaja

  • Hey John, When you guys gonna hit the road again ... Remember the drinks I promised you guys when you swing down to Virginia Beach !!!

  • You play with legos, asshole. Your stance on music is invalid.

  • Immature, intolerant people like you give us metalheads a bad name. I love metal as my primary music genre, but I like to keep an open mind on music, as anybody should. The one genre I can't tolerate is plastic, mainstream pop because of its pretentiousness and general lack of true musical talent with a focus on making money rather than on good music, but jazz should be respected due to its influence and crucial spot in the history of music.

    Grow up.

  • fine i lose. i applogies! im sorry for what i said

but why the hell do you people beat up one person for expressing his or hers own views one something.

the reason i said it sucks because its got a stupid name can;t people juts call it jazz metal or jazz pop or jazz reggae

  • @Balthic

    you sir, are my hero

  • @Balthic

    so true mate

    ill sub to you

  • dude how old are you

  • I don't know about pop, but any metal bassist that can play the best jazz fusion and knows his theory is way freaking better than the average metal bassist. Two examples I could think of off of the top of my head would be John Myung and Alex Webster.

  • as a metal and a jazz bassist my opinion is

    fuck you

  • that does not look like billy sheehan on bass but some other guy trying to look like him, billy never wears sunglasses!

  • Too smokin' hot!

Niacin is THEE vitamin to take! B3 RULES!

I wonder what Billy can't do on the bass...

  • I am pretty sure he can't do a very good blast beat on it. But then again, with some crazy slapping or something, he could probably emulate it... skilled bastard...

  • Blockheadman just wishes he could play bass.

  • Blockheadman fails at life because he can't play a musical instrument.

  • bigfatgreek loses cause he doesn't know when to respect other peoples opinions about certain things

  • hahaha chill dude. you're the one thats having a big whinge. be cool, smile a bit =D

  • your opinion sucks, dude. State something with a little more class and you'll get a bit more respect. Until you can tell me why Jazz Fusion B sucks cock and why it isnt a real genre - your opinion will still be useless and poorly-stated.

  • die in a fire LOL

  • it's like trying to wrap your head around String Theory (there's a track title!). ELP couldn't touch these guys. They remind me more of Brubeck & Sons (if they were Meth addicts).

  • Out of control. I can't count that high. When are you guys playing LA again?

  • john...you and billy and dennis are legends in your own rights and you guys playing together is nothing short of incredible...we as the fans are lucky to walk the same earth as you guys and besides...who gives a damn about social responsibility when you can play so well...keep up the amazing work

  • Spent the last week rediscovering how much I love jaco, holdsworth, bruford, et al...SO GLAD I stumbled on NIACIN. You guys are SICK!

  • Hey John .... Just wondering how you guys are coming along on your next album. Remember, come down here to Tidewater Virginia area and well party it up ! Drinks are on me !

  • Currently writing the next material which will be a smokin! Thanks for your support!

    John

  • Cool! Sounds like Emerson, Lake,& Palmer. Rejoice! Glory is Ours!!!! Karn Evil 9!!!

  • Wow!

  • haha you guys cudnt have put 3 more talented people together in a band!

  • Great stuff. Billy rocks, one of my favorite bassists.

  • Fab stuff guys, more concerts please Europe and the UK in particular, cheers.

  • You guys are great, I really would like to see you guys play next time you're in the tristate.

And the natural internet bitrate reduces the sound quality. Were this not flash or streamed, but an actual data file, the sound quality might be better for you. I can hear it fine however, so I'm not sure where the audio loss is, other than digital bitrate.

  • Maybe it's becasue my comouter sound system is a 5.1 system, don't know; that said, pick up the CD High Bias! In the middle of writing the next maddness of notes to counteract all the elevator music! Thanks to all for your support, we do it for you cats!

    Later..

    John

  • John, Organik was an insane CD too !!

I'm chomping at the bit for your next disc !

You gotta make it down to the Virginia Beach area on your next tour !!

    Drinks are on me !

  • Okay will remember that! WE usually need drinks AFTER a Niacin show along with a chir and massage as these pieces ruin our hands and in dennis' case his hands and feet!

  • It's the exact same track that was used on the CD that was transferred to video. On my computer it sounds great and exactly the same!

    John Novello

  • John, When is your next album out ?

    BIG Niacin fan here !!

and btw it sounds 'meh' on my comp compared to CD ... can't hear the ride cymbal pattern hardly at all.

  • the musci quality is crap here compared to the CD version which is mindboggling !!!

I highly recommend this CD 'High Bias' to anyone who enjoys top notch fussion jazz. DC is DEMONIC on that album. Check out the song 'Soul Diversion' *shivers*

  • It's the exact same track that was used on the CD that was transferred to video. On my computer it sounds great and exactly the same!

    John Novello

  • rules

  • billy sheehans tone here kicks ass i think i love it this song is just amazing period

  • dude he shouldnt of played any other way than he is..its a song. period my opinion

  • sheehan should have had a fatter tone for this song....his trebly tone doesn't really work on this one, but it's great. and no i'm not taking away from sheehan as a player

  • Absolutely METAL----LOVE THESE GUYS!!!!!!

  • My god, how could you say such a thing, you clearly have no clue of all the things that sheehan has done in his career. Mr Big is but a fraction of it. And also: besides the show effects, mr Big was a very good quality band that pushed the limits when it comes to guitar/bas interaction.

  • this is all noise

  • if that's all you can hear...

  • OMFG I LUV BYLLY ! ! !

  • "Elbow Grease" best niacin song..

  • If "MR.BIG Billy" could just play instead of pose....

  • "If 'MR.BIG Billy' could just play instead of pose...."

You must be deaf or something.

  • You sir, are a true and genuine idiot

  • This is the best Niacin tune I've heard yet. They're all gods!

  • They, indeed, are gods. These guys should be wearing lab coats. They are scientists. They are geniuses. Sick.

  • excellent band. i have a cd with dennis chambers playing in one of john mcloughlin's bands, live in paris

  • Niacin is my fave Fusion

Im kinda partial to DC cause he owns all in my book.

And Billy just smokes the bass. High Bias and Organik are my 2 favorite Niacin albums.

  • whos dc?

  • The drummer , Dennis Chambers

do a search on him and watch his vids

hes my EFFIN' Hero !! 8'D

  • will do

  • oh my god he has lights on the fretboard!

  • WTF that was awesome 5 stars

  • BTW what was that glowing shit in Billys bass at 02:31?

  • just LED dots.... dun B suprised by these thingz, he's got even laser pointer on his bass :-D

  • Hig Bias = Awesome record!

  • niacin ..es de esos grupos que se forman cada 20 años, es otra cosa..., es una mezcla perfecta de tecnica, talento, teoria, oido y experiencia

  • damn these guys are good!

  • What can you say about Dennos that hasn't been said?! A walking metronome!

  • These guys rawked at Near Fest this year.

  • Yes they did Alex! :) Cyndee

  • Billy still gets his awesome tone despite the fact that he slaps. Which is quite amazing, and he looks so dudish in those sunglasses!

  • Surprised to see Billy slap. The leslie horn was pretty cool.
