In my eyes ancient greek music was the jazz of today. Yes, greek experiments a lot of solutions with sofisticated sounds and notes.Moreover they always try to creates always different music. I think also old greeks hate the harmonical sounds and sometimes they love to put notes that from the modern hears looks not magine to an armonical composition. I think that this relationship is working!!!!!!! Nice job.
I suppose it was only a matter of time before someone put this to jazz <sigh> I know they're only doing what they know, but I wish they had at least kept the original mode in tact.
Wow..I thought music was supposed to transcend cultural boundaries. Music is organic, it grows and evolves, so let it. The more different versions there are of this song the better! I prefer the original lyrics, but if musicians were all too scared to try anything different it'd be boring as hell.
(I ask, "have you ever heard non-Greek singing what they claim to be ancient Greek?" Much better to translate it! I think they did a fine job: more power to 'em.
you might re-title to indicate that this is a contemporary arrangment. good way to get extra hits but also a good way to annoy searchers for the original.
beautifull :)

Sorry, but that was an abortion, because ancient feeling cannot be conveyed through jazz music.

@Heyiolaos
that's not what they were trying to do. To think that is to miss the point of Jazz.

Ἄκουσες ποτὲ τοὺς μὴ-Ἕλληνες νὰ τραγουδοῦνε "ἀρχαῖα" ἑλληνικά; Καλύτερα νὰ τὰ μεταφράσουνε! :)
