She's never actually said it but pieces of her interviews over the years she has hinted that she's not a believer or a religious person at all.

Am surprised, cos know she was raised catholic - yet dont expect her to be a nun or a virgin- lol, but looking at back at this being her 2nd Xmas carol and all the religious conotations on her Debravation album , I would say there is a fair amount of spirituality under the surface - by playing it down in public /i think it holds with the the Punk persona and rock star image.

I think I also read somewhere where she said she was pretty much a non-believer in organized religions in general. It makes sense to me that she is, she is after all a very modern-thinking, liberal, artistic bohemian urban girl and that type is never really religious.

@doetim why? who are you to judge really... i'm an atheist and i happen to love gospel. it's all possible. atheist are non-believers, they aren't anti-religion.
