If you are rewatching this series.. which I highly recommend once you start playing go.. You realize the show focuses more on the spirit of GO then the actual moves made..at least in my opinion..

yea it is really popular in Korea and China. For a while it was more popular in Korea than in Japan, especially among school children

Just a little comment...

Shindou's last sentence "Materu-yo, Touya" was falsely translated in this context. It wouldn't mean "I'll be waiting, Touya.", but "Wait for me, Touya.", since Shindou wants to catch up to Touya with his own strength, which is why he denied to play Touya earlier.
