  • I can hear the buzzing from overheating .... HP sucks !

  • yes, but Does it Blend?

  • he looks like wise beard man

  • i smell a giveway...

  • does the screen get smudged from your fingers touching it and stuff?

  • That fan is crazy loud in the video. It sounds like my TX2500 before I modded the CPU+GPU cooler unit.

  • And, lastly, putting the computer in tablet mode actually disable the keyboard. (reversing the screen and closing it) bring 2 things :

    - You can't access the real keyboard (by lifting the screen a bit) and so use CTRL, Shift or Alt fonctions while in that mode. (people who use Adobe Products might hate that)

    - If you turn off the computer while it's in tablet mode, the next time you turn it on, the screen will still be reversed until you actually put it back in tablet mode and open it again.

  • The Pen isn't pressure sensitive and the computer is currently incompatible with Wacom's drivers. (they product can work... but without certain attributes like the pressure and angles.)

So people who're doing digital arts/design which require pressure or pression or both might need to either buy another computer or work without those fonctions. (By manually change brushes sides and angles.)

  • And there's 1 major issus with this computer. HP ISN'T working on a solution. If the Input Mode is set to either dual (both Touch and Pen) or Pen mode, there can be some issue with the pointer. (when you're not using the pen, the pointer can move to a certain region in the screen at any time. To remove this problem, you need to change the input mode to "Touch Mode only".

For me, it's make the point go&click right in the Tab area, in the middle of the screen, which close/open new tab randomly.

  • Just to add 2 more details about this Notebook:

    Check those spec (Max capacity)

    AMD Turion(tm) X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-75

    2.19 GHz 4 RAM

    Windows Vista or 7 64bits

Video card chipset : ATi Radeon 3200

Video RAM can go up to 1.9 Go, but with the latest game, it goes up to a bit less than 1 Go in performances (due to the RAM used by the game. So, yeah, people are able to play games like Crysis with this computer.)

    -Hardware T&L Yes

    -Pixel Shader 4.0

    -Vertex Shader 4.0

  • i just order'd mine i should be getting it on Tuesday. does anybody know if there is a difference between this model and the tx2-1274nr? and what country is nr?(i am located in the us but this seems to be the only one best buy sells)

  • Is the screen pressure sensitive when in tablet mode, or in general?

  • anyone know when it comes in czech republic/europe?

  • came in slovenia this month.

  • @joskaprdulja ok,thanks:)

  • look out for tm2! ITS A NEW VERSION!

its not legaly in slovenia yet... hope I˙ll get one. :S

    tm2 is around 900€

    tx2 is 500€ - 1000€

    good luck!

  • @joskaprdulja oh I heard that tm2 has some problem idk with what try to search on youtube comments, they wrote it there, should I search too?

  • is this good for autocad

  • i just got one :) i allready own a HP HDX16T fully loaded and i had the HP TX1420CA i loved it!

  • this is be orgasmic with W7 64bit

  • i really want this laptop. Where can i go to get this at a great price?

  • hp online site has the cheapest so far

  • I want to buy this wonder, BUT in Pakistan, AMD Processors are notorious for the fact that they fry!!! Is this true??? The temperature over here rise upto 50 degrees celsius. Would it survive??? Also by performance, can it compete with the Core 2 Duo of the same clock???

  • Well these computers do not over heat as Much as the TX2 1000 series did so I wouldn't worry about over heating damage or noisy fan also The New 1300 series is alot faster then the older models.

  • @arshadaziz141

AMD processors offer generally better performance than their Intel equivalents with the same clock but they get H-O-T. In my previous laptop the wireless card got burned out because of it.

  • great video man

  • I have this laptop, and I don't have troubles with gestures like this guy does.

It is a freaking great laptop

  • Get games and apps for the TX2 at touchswipe,GOM

  • the tx2 sucks

i bought one and they ripped me off

i spent 500 bucks on 8 gig ram, and i got the best processor, and it is so slow even when i just have a My Documents folder open

and the multi-touch doesnt even work

  • I am SO frustrated as a Mac user that Apple is consistently ignoring this technology. I hate Windows. Hate it. But I want this laptop! What is wrong with you Apple?

  • what´s wrong with people who hate windows? do you think it´s cool to be a mac-user? usw whatever u want but don´t pretend like mac is something special

  • @countfunkula1

They should ignore it because HP came up with it first and if they do it then they are going to be copy catters! hehehe.

  • buy the laptop and hack os10.5 on to it duhhh???a computer is a computer.. if you can do the same things on them then whatever.. its just a matter of preference.. i agree that apples do look nicer

  • I don't like that the processor is AMD, if it was Intel i whould buy it.....

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, it's got SRS Surround , its amazing ! :D

  • dose it have 4gb because at future shop it said??

  • It's got 4 gig of ram!, but you don't use more then 3 gig, if you're using 32 bit ! ;)

  • LOL the 1:50 rotate gesture doesnt work!!! lol

  • lol

  • i bought a compaq (hp brand ofc) like 3 years ago and it overheats too fast and the power adapter heats and sizzles like sssssss -_- really hot. only 1.8ghz Turion Mobile (1 core)

  • I can't wait to buy the 1270us I want it badly I hope they don't stop selling them cause I'm planning on using my whole school year of writing prjects with it so I don't have to look for every key like every 15 seconds.

  • Does anyone own this laptop?

As an artist i'm wondering how the response of the touchscreen is for drawing a writing. (not the multitouch).

is there any big delay between moving the pen and see the lines?

  • wait until windows 7 and they update the pen driver. Right now, the pen pressure points only works with Sketchbook Pro since photoshop was made with wacom in mind.

It's not a bad tablet to do vector art if you don't really use pen pressure points.

  • thanks !!

So its a software thing. If it works with sketchbook, that's fine with me

i'm planning to use it as a digital sketchbook for concept art en photoshop. I use photoshop with my mouse, so no pressure functions either. Thanks for you reply ! :)

  • If you're not using the pressure, then it's a good tablet. =) I don't use the pressure either since I use it for vectors in illustrator, but some graphic designer seem to make a big deal about the pressure.

  • According to wikipedia, the laptop contains a wacom digitizer.

  • whats the point of having a mouse if you can use your fingers?

  • Hi, I also got this laptop but I have a question, when I adjust the display brighness a "buzzing" sound is heard in the little hole where I plug in the charger, and if I lower the brightness to 0% the sound goes off. Is that normal?I heard some people with the same problem. PLEASE REPLY.

  • I am experiencing the same problem..

If you find a solution to this, let me know. :(

  • Hey,I emailed Hp Customer Support, and they told me this : AC Power adapters do emit high frequency sounds (15 kHz-20 kHz) that may be misunderstood as hissing or crackling noise. This is normal and not an indication of a failing adapter. The temperature of the adapter also may feel warm to the touch. This is normal operation too. However, if the heat or the noise is beyond permit-able level, the issue may be with the AC adapter and may be going bad.

So I think this sound maybe normal

  • yes some people has it..fabrics fail.

  • now imagine making a hackintosh with this...

  • is this very good to read on? I know it won't compare to Kindle or anything, but could I read it for 30 or so minutes without eye strain?? -Thanks

  • If you can read on an ordinary LCD normally, so can you on this one - OK, this is probably better, because it's more handy and you can set the best angle for reading.

  • Oh...this video really shows how bad the noise problem this model has

  • lol response fail on 1:44

  • indeed xD

  • because his forefinger didnt touch the picture

  • Finally someone answered the big question about the PEN!

Q:will the hand interfere while writing with the pen?

A: no! where you use the pen the touch screen is disabled!

    THANK YOU SlashGear!!

  • whats the diference between this and the tx2000?

  • kool

  • i can't decide whether i should buy a dv2 or tx2. is there a big difference in performance?

  • the customer service sucks from hp

  • Hey du you think games like css and spore and program like photo shop and adobe after effekts work?

  • Does anyone know if the tablet mode, touchscreen if you will, works with programs such as iTunes or Safari?

  • What the fuck?

  • shit i buyed that versoin without multitouch ine week before this has been released :'-(

  • I've one ;)

  • awesome

  • COOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!

I'm this close to having one, just gotta wait for delivery, but now I appreciate it alot more.

Plus, I heard Windows 7 will work splendors on it.

  • I got mine today... but there was 1 problem, the screen was broken, so I've sent it back! Now they say they don't want to give me a new one and don't wanna give me my money back :S FUCK HP

  • Is screen how good? Enough good for photoshop?

  • Yes! good enough!

  • if my family like'd me, they'd buy that

    sorry for my bad english

  • well im just a kid but honestly parents would probably buy u one if they didnt care much aout you, or if ur a great child. i think i wouldnt deserve some stuff if i got them, but lol rite now i deserve this laptop... -.-

  • Dude. That's sick. I was going to get the Pavilion or XPS.. but I might get this sick little thing now.

  • how good is multitouch on normal computer activity?

For example on the desktop can you drag more than two icons at once into a folder?

Or is it possible to drag 2 windows across the screen simultaneously?

If you have one please answer, it;d be great if the tx2 could do this¬

  • This is the best notebook I've ever purchased. It's a graphic designers or game developers wet dream on the go. Windows 7 even works great on it, albiet I don't see much reash to completely switch to it just based on touch as Vista worked the same it seemed.

  • Hi,

I want to purchase this notebook but my parents think that the screen is too small

also, they are concerned with the fingerprints that get on the screen

do you know what the good an dbad things about the compter are? i also hear thet the keyboard stops working after three days

    has that happened to you?

    please respond

    -MNM

  • When my parents saw it they said the exact same thing. but...serriously you get used to the screen size. Fingerprints come off really easy. It comes with a cloth that cleans them off. The Keyboard thing is complete BS. The only thing related is when you shut it off in tablet mode... the keyboard will stop working. if this happens just remove the battery for 5 seconds and the problem is solved...I would reccomend this computer to any college or soon to be college student. Great for taking notes.

  • Ermmm Windows 7 Ready for these lappy heh

  • Clearly accessibility ISN'T that important to HP because the VOLUME CONTROLS still aren't there! WTF!!!

  • why should they have to? just because apple did it first dosnt mean they copied apple. those gestures are simply the most ligical gestures. why should they have to make something else.

  • awe man i just i got the old version of this laptop a few months ago

  • It's like an iPhone...except cool because it has Windows.

  • Show me 1 just 1 Apple branded computer with a Touchscreen! Even if its JUST a monitor! Apple has NEVER done this so stop trying to ride the Apple jock. Too much limitation - sure they have crazy patents but nothing delivered to fully use them = useless. I love Apple but I don't like lack of delivering full potential to consumers. Modbook is NOT owned by Apple - but they've licensed Mac OS X as a partner.

  • Touch display is goos! So, I hope Apple make a new iMac used touch display.

  • maybe but expect to 2k, whereas this one only cost 1k

  • I really want to get one of these things. I was thinking of waiting until Windows 7 comes out; but then again, upgrading Windows OS systems is easy, and I could give my current computer to my dad (who DESPERATELY needs one). :P

  • in my country the prize of that are 350USD

  • sorry that 3500 USD not 350

  • Where do you live?

  • viet nam

  • This is so F:in awesome, I'm glad this comes out before I had the time to get a TX2690

  • I actually find this laptop pretty cool if n-trig just developed some decent drivers to support their hardware it wouldn't lag so much but I guess thats what they're trying to do with windows 7

  • tha Turion is going is gonna be sucking air all day long non stop

    why no Intel option?

  • I think HP is on the right track with touch screen devices. Personally I like having as many input options as possible. Hopefully windows 7 will just make it all better. The only thing about Apple's that I like are how skinny the form factor is. It is useless to keep arguing about the OS especially when you can put whatever OS you want.

  • No thanks, till it's supported on OS level. good interview though, relevant questions. Decent gadget.

  • That's why HP is No.1

  • Its about 1200 bucks base configuration

  • and how much does this cost?

  • this guy also came in gearlive

  • Multi-touch technology by N-Trig

  • cool

  • awesome

  • that is sweet! wow. i never knew they would make this.

  • wow, thats pretty awesome, but wait till apple comes out with their multi touch computer, its gonna blow this thing out of the water

  • Apple already have computers with multi-touch trackpads; their latest generation of notebooks have gestures using up to four fingers. The way Apple already blows HP out of the water is the fact that these notebooks runs OS X.

Credits to HP, but who wants to be reaching up to touch their screen all day? Look how low they have the tx2 positioned for this vid. Considering current computer form factors, Apple's got the right approach here. All they need is multi-touch mouse replacement.

  • Apple Apple... On this notebook you can actually game. I understand Apple is for serious work but it's way overpriced for what you get.

Also you can install OS X on normal PCs that have Intel processor so nothing great about Macs.

  • *cough*illegallyandonnonnativehardware*cough*

you're right, OS X can be run on systems other than Apple machines, but I'd rather stick to using my iMac/MacBook to take care of that. much less buggy.

back on topic, this looks like a great notebook with some pretty slick multitouch capability... I've always been a huge fan of HP, and were it not for switching to OS X and being able to run Windows alongside it on my Apple stuff now, I'd probably still be buying their products :).

  • Illegal? Look at the Psystar. They offer custom PCs with pre-installed Mac OS.

  • just because a company offers a certain product doesn't make it "legal"... at least in the eyes of Apple (look at all the lawsuits that have been going back and forth between the two companies). if it weren't for the TOS violations fueling the dispute between Apple/Psystar, I would totally agree with you.

I'd still much rather buy an Apple computer running OS X and pay the "Apple Premium" than buy a higher-specced but unjustifiably buggy system from Psystar (it's just my preference).

  • Why buggy? It's software after all, and don't you think company would match hardware so it wouldn't be buggy?

  • I hate to mention it, but hardware is nothing without proper drivers... for example- in several video reviews I've seen of Psystar systems, the fans were permanently running at full tilt (both of my Apple systems are whisper quiet to a fault, regardless of system load)... so maybe "buggy" wasn't the best choice of words (intrusive is more like it).

we could both argue about the merits of either company until we're blue in the face, but in the end it's still a matter of preference.

  • They download drivers from Apple site? Ah doesn't matter, I am sure they would fix things before selling them. And I partly agree with you, original is best, but I hate Apple because of their ads and stuff :).

  • Apple doesn't have ANY tablet PCs or any computers with touchscreens. The iPhone doesn't count, so don't even try :)

    Multi-touch trackpads != multi-touch screen. Simply put.

  • that was at GrigoriSom, the reply link doesn't work? D:

  • A tablet is a whole other thing, and Apple would be wise to release one. Agreed.

Doesn't change the fact that notebooks and desktops are, at this point, cumbersome for touchscreens, as neither are not raised-arm friendly. The demonstrator has the TX2 positioned lower than it would normally be used; he's probably sick of working with it on a desk. Try touching your desktop screen at work all day; arm fatigue will set in quite quickly.

Oh, the iPhone is a multi-touch computer - face it.

  • Well if you have it in tablet mode it would be like a huge touch screen phone.

  • Just because a piece of technology is implemented doesn't mean it NEEDS to be used. This machine could simply be used as a standard laptop if the person using it wanted to, and never use the touchscreen at all.

That, I think, is pretty cool; having more than one option on how to do something makes things more accessible. It's probably why I won't get an iPhone either. What if the touchscreen just stops working one day, and I'm miles from an Apple store?

  • This is the reason why I went with a LG Voyager over the Iphone, I think a physical keyboard is essential.

I get my hp touchsmart in 9 days, so excited!

  • I absolutely LOVE a physical keyboard. And enjoy your new TouchSmart! :D

  • The tablet aspect of the TX2 is attractive, granted, but not in notebook mode. And what is "Multi-touch trackpads != multi-touch screen. Simply put." supposed to mean?

Did anyone notice the use of the MS Surface computer on MSNBC during the election returns? The anchor's hands got in the way of what you were supposed to see, whereas if he'd been using an offscreen device like a trackpad, it would have been MUCH clearer - one more reason MT screens are inapprorpriate for many tasks.

  • A multi-touch screen is a lot better than a multi-touch trackpad. Look at the iphone; if phones have a keyboard already why would you want to get rid of it and just have an onscreen keyboard? :P
