@ailddwp Actually I'm a moderate Veteran (Far from liberal mind you). Still think this is a waste of money. I have yet to hear a good defense as to why this should be a paid position in the USM. I have friends who do this on their free time (Love that!), but a full time paid position here offers nothing to our country.

labartic, i hear you. the uniform is reflective of the AF's conservative stance. i would have liked a fancier uni but we did the best we could with what was issued. as for the mistakes-they are few and far between but they happen. thanks for writing.

Very impressive...too bad my dumb azz failed a test while I was in tech school and out I went from the drill team. Air Force don't screw around when it comes to school. It went to the next person who waited for someone like me to mess up. At times, there is a waiting period for opportunity, but it is worth it .

I had the privilege of being on the Base Honor Guard (High Frontier Honor Guard, Colorado Springs, CO), but missed the cut off to be in the USAF Honor Guard by one inch. I was too short.

Still this compilation brings back great memories of being on the drill team as well as being part of funeral details and other miscellaneous ceremonies.

Air Force . most are simply uninformed and therefore ignorant . thankfully, there are many who appreciate what we do . i was apart of the silent drill many years ago . it was an honor but to perform that drill took more hours of practice than most could imagine . never-the-less, good luck with your career as a 'fighter jock' . serve the country, respect the services and represent all airmen proudly .

the marines also do way less spinning. Marines are by far the best at precision. I think air force takes the cake when it comes to spinning as a unit.

this spinning isn't all that complex aside from the blind throws. I would say USMC is the best all around, When the line inspection comes around they do some intense spinning and throws. Although the Air Force suicide line is Amazing.

bamfatronstudios, you couldnt be further from the truth.those spins are a lot harder than you think. the usmc has a nice inspection sequence but they've shot their wad after that . the remaining drill is basic 15 count manual of arms with a high secure.this drill is continually dynamic in that there is either a toss, exchange,or spin being executed all the time.intense spinning? u mean after the blades are removed from those 8 pound weapons?hmmm. your evaluation is suspect.

@colors1387 a shame air force uniforms look like shit though. I met the USAF honor guard and had dinner with them in the UK when they visited my base (I was base honor guard) and they were nice guys. Just doing their job. I saw a couple of them screw up. But they rode 4 or 5 hours on a bus, got off, put on their uniform, and executed a long drill routine within 5 minutes.
