Unfortunately, I'm not very well informed as to how American universities work, (I live in England), therefore, my choices are somewhat inclined to going to Oxbridge. I'm drifting more towards Oxford. It's relatively close, (50 minutes away in the car), and it's just a fantastic, gargantuan place to be.

Unfortunately, I'm only 15 years old, :P but I have had the fortunate experience of visiting Yale and Princeton, and being allowed to sit in a lecture and Oxford University due to work experience. I truly yearn for nothing more than to be able to study and learn in such marvelled institutions one day.

I have bought four books on Oxbridge, and have read about the history of Oxford, and also the interview system, and currently, I am currently studying extremely hard to accomplish a place. I have contacted Oxford, and asked them to put lectures on areas which interest me such as Quantum physics and mathematics, and they have done so. I am truly delighted. Thank you.

@FyeMusic That is even more creditable. Being a Harvard retiree and Harvard parent, I know getting admission in Harvard College is much more difficult than getting admission in any of the Harvard grad schools. Few people know that. So congrats again and best wishes for your success in Harvard.

@gX23x I think its mostly about the money. If you can pay, you can get in. Of course the students who make grades will get the first dibs and rightfully so.... But money is the bottom line I think.

Harvard considers only merit (not just academic brilliance, but brilliance in extra-curricular acitivities like performing arts, sports, athletics, social service etc. - a track record in these things is absolutely essential aside from top notch academic records). About 50% of Harvard students come from poor families. Harvard admits and gives financial aid to poor students who otherwise meet Harvard's standards.

Wow, I would love to go here. Pretty much the only thing I think that would prevent me from going here is my SAT's, but I have yet to take those. So hopefully this year I can get good scores so I'll have a better chance of getting in. No matter what though I'm going to apply, even if I get rejected. No likeness of John Harvard exists. Sculptor Daniel Chester French chose a random undergraduate to model for the statue in the 19th century. It is one of the famous "three lies" of this statue.

@freestuffffff Yes, I knew that. I think there are altogether 5 things about this statue (or Harvard itself) that circulate as facts are not true. I cannot remember off hand what are the rest. But I read them in Harvard Crimson (newspaper run by Harvard students) when I used to work in Harvard. :)
