I am bilingual myself, the only part that sucks is that when you're around English speakers and you think of something funny in your own language (in my case Finnish) and you know it just won't translate. You tell the joke anyway because you're laughing to yourself and people want to know why, and you wish you could transfer the other culture into them so that they would understand the joke, but you just can't. :D

for Portuguese speakers is simple for us to jump from one language to another and even learning it, due to our "strange" usage of foreign words and verbose of our own base language!!
